We shy worth hair
Very Basic. Mention what, in your opinion is the top three greatest feuds in the WWE's long history.

1. HHH/Mick Foley - My favorite straight-up feud ever, while Austin/McMahon takes it for storyline. Mick Foley was my favorite wrestler as a kid, and it was just heartbreak after heartbreak for him; but finally here, the everyman face, the most relatable character in all of WWE, the underdog hero, went up against the most evil, hated heel there was. And it was perfect. From Mankind's firing, to the Rock and the entire locker room rebelling against the McMahon/Helmsley era to "HIS NAME IS CACTUS JACK", it just all came together masterfully and emotionally. It MADE HHH, solidified Foley as a legend, and resulted in two of the best matches of the decade (Royal Rumble and the HIAC match). I legitimately thought Foley would stay retired (what a mark!) I thought it was an awesome story line and a great way for Foley to go out

2. Hogan/Andre - The original "sellout heel turn" Andre had been brainwashed and turned against his friend for the sake of glory. Excellently done feud. Andre was a heartless monster and Hogan played the sympathetic face to a tee. When this feud all came to a forefront at WM 3 it spawned what is possibly the most dramatic match in WWE's history with probably the greatest moment in Wrestlemania or even wrestlings history.

3. Bret Hart vs America - the "Face in Canada, heel in America" thing was such a groundbreaking story for the time. To play off nations against each other like that hasnt been done that well since. Bret Hart turning on the United States because they turned on him. That whole period was re\ally nuanced for a WWE program: Shawn turning heel after Bret turned but turning heel in a different way, Austin as the anti-hero, and then all of the stuff that led into Survivor Series. Storyline-wise, that was probably my favorite in WWE history.

Honourable Mention:

Austin vs McMahon - Because everyone wants to Stunner their boss. the whole thing, from "YOU RUINED IT" to Fully Loaded '99, and all it encapsulated. The defining feud of the attitude era, and probably the benchmark for a modern feud. IMO the two biggest rivals in wrestling history.

Owen vs Bret - I loved the promo Owen gave after the 94 RR, "It felt good when I kicked you Bret" and Bret saying under no circumstance would he fight his own brother. Their match at WM X is one of my all time favorites. Then Owen accomplishes what Bret did a year earlier by winning the King of the Ring, adding The Anvil into the mix. Another epic match at SummerSlam in the cage. And then Owen costing Bret his title by having their mother throw in the towel for Bret against Bob Backlund. This was, in my opinion, was a perfect feud and one of the all time great storylines

Undertaker vs Kane - The original, that is. I loved how they took that idea of sibling rivalry from the Owen/Bret feud and reused it for characters that are essentially two monsters, but it still had an emotional resonance. Taker promising that he would never fight his brother was weirdly poignant.

Mickie/Trish - For a divas feud, this was really intense. Trish had a fan who loved her deeply. This eventually got out of hand and showed how brilliantly WWE could develop a character. Now some could say that maybe this feud might've been better if they went all the way with the lesbian stuff but I was happy either way. Mickie showed devotion to her character and it got over and delivered a good match at Wrestlemania 22.

Orton vs. Foley - The whole feud was excellent. From Orton being a cocky young punk taking Foley out, Foley walking away, Orton talking crap for MONTHS, Foley's return at the Rumble, Foley's incredible promos where Orton realizes he's bitten off more than he can chew, to the epic hardcore match that solidified Orton as a threat.

From WWE's official history. (02-08)

The Rated R Superstar - From getting Lita, to feuding with Matt Hardy, to stealing the belt from Cena, to feuding with Foley, to teaming with Foley, all the while being a thorn in Cenas side, 2005/6 made Edge a legit main eventer.

HBK/Flair/Jericho/Batista - Such a fantastic progression of storytelling, everything linked together and flowed so perfectly, and the end result totally changed Jerichos career.

The Nexus - Maybe I'm overexaggeratting but I don't care. The WWE had it nailed last summer. Never has a group looked so threatening, and it was totally believable, given how humiliated they had been through the ridiculousness of NXT. We were given the impression that a loss at Summerslam for the WWE couldve crippled the company, because they were booked to perfection. After Survivor Series, things blew up and the angle ended in shambles, but there are 3 moments that I always point to when emphasising just how good this angle was.

The original iNvasion. Tarver appears from nowhere, things just descend into chaos, there is no commentary, the crowd are just shocked. Look at the reactions.

The RAW before Summerslam when team WWE fully unites as Edge and Jericho turn back to the ring. The hard camera is shaking, the crowd are going absolutely insane, and when Edge throws the first punch and things boil over, the crowd are FREAKING OUT. Cenas music plays at the end and team WWE are looking like a million bucks.

CeNexus. From Hell in a Cell, one of the most gripping matches of the year, in which the fan reaction at the end summed it up, including the now famous video of a 5 year old kidk screaming at the TV and crying on YouTube. It was such a shocking turn. Not to mention *Cena sadface*, Cena was getting his best reactions ever. The promo with Roddy Piper was phenomenal, he looked like a guy that was on his last legs.

they screwed that up so badly after Survivor Series it was unreal. Barrett shouldve been champion. Cena and Orton shouldve still been enemies (When were Rock and Austin ever friends?) and Wade Barrett/John Cena 2 should be going on right now at WrestleMania for the belt. As much as I hate Cena winning the belt at WM, this would have been perfect. He couldve gone through a small angle in the time between now and Survivor Series where he questioned his decision and felt like he spat on the WWEs legacy, and the rest of the WWE turned against him. Cena doesnt have to be everyones buddy to be the top face. It worked for Sting.

What are your top three feuds in WWE's history?

1) undertaker vs kane: when these 2 first met at badblood:in your house, was an amazing moment. they started having run ins. at their first huge match wrestlemania was a AWESOME MATCH! their inferno match, and other numerous fueds that they have had, all have been awesome.
2)stone cold vs vince: good storyline, had some good matches, lots of twists and what not.
3)undertaker vs mankind yet another awesome set of matches, from brawls, to hell in a cell, inring matches (unfortunetly no wrestle mania).

I'm going to go with my top 3 favourites. So here it goes I suppose, in no particular order:

Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle (December 2002-September 2003):
Typing that, I'm surprised at just how long this was. Essentially at the Survivor Series, Brock Lesnar was screwed by his manager Paul Heyman in favour of the Big Show and lost the WWE Championship in the process. Kurt Angle then became the new #1 contender and promised Brock that he'd give him a title shot IF he helped him beat Show. Lesnar did but Angle failed to deliver, announcing that he'd been working with Heyman himself. Lesnar was obviously livid and injured Angle, F5ing him around the ring post. Angle recovered just in time to wrestle an astounding match with Chris Benoit at the Royal Rumble as Lesnar won the Royal Rumble, earning his shot against Angle. Lesnar had to run through a gauntlet to get to Angle though, defeating Team Angle (Benjamin & Haas), Big Show, a young John Cena and even Paul Heyman to get his Mania main event. Lesnar and Angle had a good match, which is best remembered for THAT shooting star press. Lesnar became champion while Angle disappeared for neck surgery. Angle returned a mere three months later, neck healed and now a face, Angle and Lesnar had a new found friendship built on respect, something which was shattered when Angle took Lesnar's title from him at Vengeance. Lesnar was pissed, and drafted in evil boss Vince McMahon in a bid to win back the championship. He met Angle once again at SummerSlam 2003 in a great match where Lesnar submitted for the first time. Angle & Brock would then have a good Iron Man match where Lesnar used his heel tactics to recapture his lost gold.

Mick Foley vs. Randy Orton (December 2003-April 2004):
Mick Foley returned the night after WWE Survivor Series in November, becoming the co-GM of RAW. He didn't last long however as he was challenged to a match by the new Intercontinental Champion; Randy Orton. Orton was making a name as the Legend Killer and was becoming very successful. Foley walked out of his match with Orton and wasn't seen again...until the Royal Rumble. Foley made a surprise appearance, eliminating both himself and Orton, leading to a huge brawl (which somehow also featured Nunzio). Then came the build for Mania, Foley was getting triple teamed for weeks by Orton and his buddies in Evolution; Batista & Ric Flair. This all changed when Foley brought in the Rock to help him. This led to a fun and energetic handicap match at WrestleMania XX. Foley fell victim to Orton's quick and deadly RKO however and was pinned. This led to Foley finally snapping, recapturing a passion we hadn't seen since that infamous Hell in a Cell match vs. Triple H. Foley became Cactus Jack once again and that led to an outstanding Hardcore brawl at Backlash. Foley pulled out a wonderful performance as Orton defeated the legend one more time, forever cementing himself as a player in the WWE.

Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels (June 2008-November 2008):
These two had a good feud back in 2003 which led to the show stealing match at WrestleMania XIX, but this is the better feud and it's arguably both men's best. This whole feud began when Shawn Michaels & Dave Batista began arguing over Ric Flair's retirement, with Jericho caught in the middle. Jericho became guest ref for a match between the two at Backlash where Michaels faked a knee injury to win. Jericho later found out and used it against Michaels questioning the ethics of Michaels and the fans even. Jericho proceeded to turn on Michaels, almost mirroring Michaels' own turn on Marty Jannetty all those years ago. Jericho would turn into a narcissistic, malicious, dark and twisted character who despised everyone and everything but himself. Jericho would injure Michael's eye, leading to Michaels preparing to 'retire', which led to an angle at SummerSlam where Michaels' wife was punched by Jericho, sparking something in HBK who defeated Jericho in an Unsanctioned Match at Unforgiven, a night where Jericho somehow walked away with the world title as a last minute sub for CM Punk. Jericho would win the feud with victories in a ladder match and a Last Man Standing match in London.

Hulk Hogan vs. The Macho Man - The Mega Powers exploded and these best of friends, the two top guys in the sport, due to their egos could not co exist any longer. It doesn't matter if it was because of Liz, or who was better, in the end it came down to the WWF Championship

Stone Cold vs. Mr McMahon - this feud reignited the WWF and won them the Monday Night wars. The dynamics of the rebel taking on his boss and anyone else who gets in his way was a full throttle rollar coster ride. Austin became the biggest draw for the WWF since Hulk and took the Federation to a whole new level.

Macho Man vs. Jake the Snake Roberts - Both men were vicious in this feud where Jake put his hands on Liz and had his snake bite Savage! Randy went crazy in getting revenge and the two men fought all over the country to try and end each other's careers.

I never thought about this one, still, I'm going to give it a shot. I'm more of a new school so...

Triple H vs Shawn Michaels: From the almost DX reunion, to the street fight, to the last man stading match, to HHH hitting Michaels's back with the sledgehammer, to the main event of Wrestlemania XX to their infamous/underated (IMO) hell in a cell; everything in this feud was EMOTIONAL. This feud had it all, it had the betrayal, the history, the promos and obviously the matches; everything was amazing. Probably my all time favorite feud.

It's weird that no one mentioned this one: Stone Cold vs The Rock. Basically this one DEFINED an era for wrestling and wrestling fans. Are you with Rocky? Are you with Austin? You just couldn't go wrong supporting either wrestler, the crowd was divided and crazy for these two. For me this one has the greatest response as far crowd reaction concerns.

This may be a rare pick, but what was on line was ABOVE title, prestige, being the best etc. I'm talking about of course: Edge vs Matt Hardy. This was probably the last time (if not the only) where Matt Hardy did something REALLY interesting with his wrestling career. People were so disgusted by Edge's action (including myself) that every time Matt threw a punch, he had the greatest crowd reaction. Words like "bitch", "home wrecker" were basically in every mind of every wrestling fan that didn't behave (or was) as a smark. This one helped Edge to be one of WWE's greatest heels.

Honourable Mentions:

Edge vs John Cena: Edge was already hated with all the Matt Hardy feud, but when he cashed in for the first time, through all the feud with John Cena, people hated him. Once again including myself, I loved the cash in, but after that I couldn't believe how coward could be Edge. BEATIFUL!

CM Punk vs Jeff Hardy: Straight edge vs drug addict, do I need to say more? Okay maybe one thing, this one solidified CM Punk as a top heel and my hate towards Jeff Hardy started.

Randy Orton vs Triple H: I'm not talking about only the last time these two met, I'm talking about since HHH kicked out Orton from Evolution back in 2004. Since that moment until their encounter at WM 25, everybody knew the history between these two, it was only a matter of time befor either wrestler kicked the other one ass in a very memorable feud.

My top 3 WWF/WWE feuds of all time are as fallow:
1. Tito Santana VS Don Muraco for the IC title from early 1983 to early 1984. Wow these 2 guys had epic battles against each other for almost a year for the IC Title.
2. Jimmy Snuka VS Bob Backlund for the WWF Title from Jan. 1982 to June 1982. This feud ended in 1 of the best cage match in WWF/WWE history at MSG, Snuka was the 1st wrestler ever to attempt a leap from the top of the cage.
3. VKM VS Austin 3:16 this was a very entertaining feud for nearly 2 yrs (1997-99) . This feud started at MSG on 9/22/1997 and had it all from lectures to arrests. At times I wonder how far this feud would had lasted if Austin wouldn't gotten injured and needed neck surgery.

#1 Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Vince McMahon- IMO, this was the main reason WWF won the Monday Night Wars. It was something we've never seen before and we'll never see again. It was THE DEFINING MOMENT of the Attitude Era. Genius doesn't even begin to describe the booking of this feud.

#2 Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels- A personal real life grudge held for several years but on screen also bitter enemies. These guys put on wrestling clinics time and time again.

#3 The Rock vs. HHH- just to go with something new. Mcmahon-Helmsley regime dominated the dawn of the new millenium. HHH is one of (if not THE BEST) heel in the history of the company. Hated him as a kid. Who didn't hate him at the time? Who was the main foil to this incredible heel? There were the likes of Jericho but he wasn't on Rocky's level. THAT was a GREAT feud.

Rock vs Austin - Mainly because every single time they crossed paths, arenas around the world (primarily America and Canada) were split right down the middle. Two of the biggest names, with the same shade of gray. Both always had their own fan base, that loved em regardless of their alignment. Half the time it was hard to tell which was which, that counts all the way to the end of the matches as well. Rock would be heel only for Stone Cold to "sign a deal with the devil" and get Vince to help him beat Rocky. Constant mood changes, constant verbal battles, constant sneak attacks. Made for some of the most exciting programs of all time. And with all that reaction and emotional investment from the fans, the matches themselves carried weight with every strike thrown by both men.

Jeff Hardy vs The Undertaker - A pretty short feud. But I was such a Jeff Hardy mark back in the day before all this out of control lifestyle Jeff has acquired. I'm pretty sure when this went down Rey had yet to make his debut in the WWE (I could be wrong, but I know it took Rey a little longer then most WCW guys), and Jeff was fresh in his singles career after the TLC feuds. Jeff captured a lot of peoples interests, and ultimately fell prey into cheering for him to be the one to stop the Taker's reign of terror. He played the Ultimate Underdog. Even though he lost, it was a hell of a build (albeit short) and a sign that the writers back then could turn a random encounter into something you'd actually invest in. Hardy went from a virtual nobody, into being hailed as the next Shawn Michaels after that ladder match with Taker. Ultimately he would all but throw it away, but damn were people shaking the rafters for him to win.

Chris Jericho vs Christian feat. Trish Stratus - While some believe that a diva being involved in an angle can be a bad thing, I really think this showed how GOOD writing could evolve an angle in a really good story. Jericho and Christian going from the highest of highs as a tag team champions, to being ultimately ripped apart over a woman. Add a swerve where Jericho thinks "he got the girl" and Trish pulls a fast one on him and Christian steals the win and the girl... To me, it made for some pretty damn good storytelling. And Trish being the apple of a lot of guys eyes, was demoted to "****" status and people despised Christian for what he did to Y2J. Sadly, if memory serves me right, Christian and Trish never panned out as far as it could go, they replaced her with Tomko or something and Christian ended up going to TNA anyway. But I think it was the beginning for Christian in terms of his success thus far. Can't wait to see him back in the thick of things.

Other nods:

Heel CM Punk vs _______ - To me, Punk has a presence about him that draws heat. Since becoming a heel, he has managed to crawl under everyones skin somehow. Classic, fluid, and silky smooth on the mic. Great one liners. And come on, who didn't love Punk at the Rumble, preaching between eliminations.

Randy Orton vs HHH - The build up was f'ing spectacular. Orton being "one screw loose", and attacking people without thinking. I don't even remember if HHH was actually out or what, but I remember those Raws like they were yesterday. Orton punts the hell out of Vince McMahon... and leaves. Next week, Shane comes out to confront him, Orton punts him, and then RKO's Stephanie... and freezes in place. Jaw hanging down, hand covering his mouth. And theres no music, just a pop from the fans as HHH hits the ring. First time they openly acknowledge Hunter and Stephanies marriage in YEARS. They always taunted it. But that night... s*** got real. The match, blew. But WOW was the build phenomenal.

Austin vs. McMahon - Possibly the best boss vs. wrestler if not best feud ever in pro wrestling. This feud made the Attitude Era, it just had great booking written all over it from start to finish.

Austin vs. The Rock - These two could deliver anything together. Whether it be awesome confrontations, great promos on each other, hilarious segments, epic matches, hell even good tag teaming. Whatever it was, these two have possibly the greatest chemistry ever.

Bret vs. Shawn - There was just so much anomisty & heat brought to the feud because of their real life feud spilling out on TV ala Shawn accusing Bret of having an affair with Sunny, Montreal Screwjob etc. And as already mentioned, they put on wrestling clinics every time.

The person directly before has given my answer (great minds must think alike) but here is my two cents worth:

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Vince McMahon
Employee vs Boss, Redneck vs Corporate, Wrestler vs Management, however you want to look at it this fued, it had it all. It helped shape and define arguably the greatest Era in WWE history, shot Austin to Icon and Legend status and solidified McMahon as the greatest sports entertainment promoter ever. The different storylines and gimmicks of this fued were always innovative and kept the WWE universe wanting more.

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs The Rock
Surprisingly only on a few peoples list in this thread, another fued which helped define an era. Arguably the two greatest WWE Superstars in the same era their matches, storylines, gimmicks and overall in and out ring chemistry is second to none. Both worked great matches with each other and their mic skills were excellent.

Bret 'The Hitman' Hart vs 'The Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels
There was legitimate heat between these two yet they managed to put on probably one of the greatest wrestling matches ever in the Iron Man Match from WM12. All there matches were technically sound and the two superstars helped keep WWE afloat when everyone was running off to WCW.

Special Mention:
WWF/E vs WCW
'm not talking about the Invasion angle, I'm talking about the Monday Night Wars. The battle that arguably brought wrestling to the top of sports entertainment and to the mainstream. Before this, all wrestling promotions never necessarily had beef with each other but this fued brought the dollars into the wrestling business. 5 Year battle culminating in Vince McMahon and WWF/E winning and taking everything and showing which is the greatest promotion ever!!

You asked what OUR favorite feud was right? So I will give my top three personal favorite fueds in the WWE.

CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy was my number one favorite I suppose. It was just crazy-awesome.

My second favorite feud may just be William Regal vs. CM Punk. I believe that Punk and Regal work extremely well together and they put on great matches. I enjoyed their King of the Ring match and their Intercontinental championship matches.

My third favorite would most likely be Carlito vs. John Cena. Carlito and Cena have always had an in ring hatred for one another. Carlito began his WWE career by feuding with Cena and throughout Carlito's career he and Cena had various other matches and small feuds. I just thought that Carlito and Cena had great chemistry.

Honorable mentions:

Chris Jericho vs. the Rock
Triple H vs. Randy Orton
The Undertaker vs. Edge
Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart
Shawn Michaels vs. Bret Hart
Chris Masters vs. John Cena
Chris Masters vs. Carlito
Carlito vs. Jeff Hardy
Dolph Ziggler vs. Rey Mysterio
The Undertaker vs. CM Punk

HHH v Rocky. This fued had me hooked on WWF. Made me actually think there was real heat between the two. This fued got me watching WWF in the first place.

HHH v Mick Foley. Their matches were of the highest quality. Loved every minute of it.

HHH v Randy Orton. Their fued was awesome before and after Wrestlemania 25. Every Raw i watched i couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next but their match at WM 25 sucked soooo bad.

In order, as I feel these should be

1) Triple H/The Rock:
This feud is looked at mostly during the time of the attitude era. But it began a little earlier, and evolved over the years.

1996 Rocky Maivia's debut:
On opposite teams, they first made contact at the 1996 Survivor series, and it was only the begining. It turned into a whole different beast when they both led their own factions in D-x, and The Nation. Though it was billed as a feud between both groups, I firmly felt then as I do now, it was a battle between those two men.

The Ladder match at Summerslam would normally have been the end of a feud. Not for these two. They traded the IC title then, and you would assume that it wouldn't go further. Boy, we were wrong.

They both switched Heel/face status AGAIN. As it started
Helmsley/Heel vs Maivia/Face
Triple H/Face vs The Rock/Heel
To now at that point in time
Triple H/Heel vs The Rock/Face

Now, The rock was alone at this point as the peoples champ, the face Rock, and Triple H was alone with Chyna as a manager, but it faded into Triple H with D-x as heels, vs The Rock, on his own as the face. And they had their amazing Ironman match, a strap match at Fully loaded etc. The feud even crossed over into the 6 man Armageddon hell in a cell. Its as if no matter what these two ALWAY parallel each other. And for the success of EACH of their feuds, whether each was Face or Heel, it didnt matter. I consider this the greatest feud of all time. Due to versatility.

2) Shawn Micheals vs Bret Hart: Similar to the Rock/Triple H fued, These two had very similar upbringings up the ranks, from Tag to solo, IC title to Heavyweight. AND the very much documented backstage which just fueled the feud to much higher standards, and created more tension.

The matches that they had, from their ladder match to the WM match, even the brawl that was the Screw job, told volumes of the history of these two, the talent, and the feelings painted in that ring. And the closure to their ''feud'' last year, was one of the best moments of 2010.

And what I consider the 3rd greatest feud in Wwe:

3) The Undertaker vs Mick Foley: Taker had used mind games on wrestlers for years, but what happens when you mess with a man who had lost his? That was the premise of the feud. And with all the matches they had, in my view culminating with the HIAC match, it shows how brutal these two can get. Finally Taker was able to let loose on someone who he knew could take it. And he finally had a character that rivaled in darkness, and Mick provided every threat that Taker could handle, and to me, was the biggest threat to his dominance (Well, until Kane )

The Boiler room brawl, , the buried alive and the aforementioned HIAC, not even counting the matches with Taker/Stone cold vs Kane/Mankind. This feud had many points of view, which in the end, created Mick Foley as a Iconic character in the Wwe's eyes. They complimented each other, and many haven't been able to match the chemistry that Mick had with Taker.

Bret Hart Vs. McMahon/America/Austin/DX. Brilliant storyline that also kept me wanting more. All great workers and decent talkers and it makes it all the more interesting. Just a really well worked storyline and feud. The fact that it was that good throughout while Bret had to deal with so many sections of the roster only adds to it.

Hulk Hogan Vs. Randy Savage. For Savage, some might point to Savage/Steamboat. With Hogan, they might go with Andre. However, I like this feud out of the three. Savage/Steamboat had the better wrestling, but was short-lived. Hogan/Andre had the bigger feel, but it was the best match(es) in the world.

With Savage and Hogan, you got a bit of both. You had a pretty big feel with the friendship/Elizabeth storyline and you had Savage actually bringing out some decent matches with Hogan. To me, it's the better feud.

The Undertaker Vs. Mankind. So many epic matches and specialty matches. Not to mention the turn of Paul Bearer and the seemingly hard, physical matches. Great chemistry and both seemed eager to entertain, not just get over. Great feud.

I'm sure I'm blanking on a few, but these three come to mind.

HONORABLE MENTION: Austin Vs. McMahon, Austin Vs. The Rock.

WWE vs WCW

This feud between the 2 rival companies hell bent on destroying the other gave us the most exciting, unpredictable and fast-paced period in wrestling history. With each company trying to one-up the other we saw things that had never been done before, both companies changing their target market and the growth of some of the biggest stars the industry has ever seen.

When both WWE and WCW were on top of their games, they could both produce phenomenal storylines, with top stars jumping from one promotion to the other, the bith of the nWo and DX, Hogan's heel turn, the DX "Invasion" of WCW, Stone Cold, The Rock, Goldberg, The Mr McMahon character etc. The list is endless. This is by the far the most important feud in wrestling history, which only ended after WCW's self-inflicted demise and Vince McMahon purchasing the company to end the Monday Night Wars

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Vince McMahon

This was revolutionary, and made Austin the hottest wrestler in the world. Everyone wants to punch out their boss, but Austin could do it. This made him the biggest anti-hero in the business and became the catalyst for the success of the WWE Attitude era. It gave birth to the Mr McMahon heel character (probably the greatest of all time), set the benchmark for how a feud should be done and let every fan live vicariously through Austin as he did what he wanted, when he wanted.

Oh hell yeah!

The Rock vs Stone Cold Steve Austin

A rivalry between the 2 biggest stars of the Attitude era. The WWE was incredibly lucky to have these two talents at their peak at the same time. Both men were over as hell, disliked but had mutual respect for the other and the rivalry went on for years, with both man wanting to be the best. After 2 defeats at WM's, The Rock finally got the win over Austin at the third attempt, after being screwed at WM 17 when Stone Cold turned his back on the fans and sided with his long term enemy Vince McMahon.

This was a great feud for the modern wrestling fan

my 3 fave are

jake the snake vs rick rude- that was one of the first feuds where it looked real, when jakes's wife was involved, and jake came down and ripped the tights off of rude.

stone cold vs rock and mcmahon the corporation- i don't think there has been a feud that has involved 2 stars that the fans are at a complete split on who to root for, and they delivered in the ring.

hbk vs jericho from 2008- that feud had everything and was one of the last, long lasting feuds in the wwe, because it was almost half a year it lasted, both delivered doing promos, and when the bell rang they had great matches

3. Taker/Kane-Without Taker, there would be no Kane, this feud was huge when it first happened, and it has continued off and on for the past 13 years.
2. HBK/Bret-Two of the most gifted in ring performers in history, with hatred and jealousy on both in and out of the ring, gave the feud a real feel about it.
1. Austin vs McMahon-What else needs to be said.

A couple of great feuds come to my mind when i think about the greatest wwe feuds.

1. Stone Cold Vs. Vinny Mac arguably the reason that the "Attitude" era was so great, it was a basic idea the Boss vs the employee so it related to everyone really well and really worked for stone cold and got McMahon over as the top heel around 1998-1999.

2. The Rock Vs. Stone Cold These two guys were the best of the attitude era and constantly battled to see who was the best and who was better. Which of course made their matches great and as a fan you could really feel the rivalry that they had.

3. Bret Hart Vs. Shawn Michaels All i have to say about these two is that it was not a work. These two really hated each other and couldn't wait to go at one another and it resulted in great matches and great in ring promos especially with HBK's hate on Canada and Bret Hart hating america.

Honorable Mention's Edge and Matt Hardy was another great one that should have gone longer, real life drama always makes for great in ring drama and action between the two. Probably the biggest spot Matt Hardy was ever put in.

HHH and HBK, Best friends make great enemies, now obviously there was no one else that could get shawn back to ring shape better than HHH and they had a handful of great matches which were very emotional and long.

Austin Vs Vince McMahon - Produced some of the best television entertainment I have ever seen.

The Undertaker Vs Kane - The whole story was amazing (as good as any hollywood horror movie). It no longer holds up to much and apart from the most recent confrontations between the two, got a bit stale. But when it was in it's prime it had me and most people gripped each week.

Hardy Boyz, Dudley Boyz, Edge and Christian - Gave us some of the greatest tag matches in WWF history.

Jake 'The Snake' Roberts v 'Macho Man' Randy Savage (1991/1992) An incredibly intense, heated rivalry that at the time (for me at least) produced some amazing, original wrestling moments. Fuelled by both performers' intensity, the angles during which the cobra bit Savage and Roberts slapped Miss Elizabeth were emotive, explosive and certainly kept me perched on the edge of my seat.

'Stone Cold' Steve Austin v Mr McMahon (1997-1999) The feud that defined an era. Stone Cold was on the rise, but suffering from the physical implications of a botched piledriver from Owen Hart. This feud introduced and developed the most loved hate figure in the history of the company, helped maintain Austin's meteoric rise to superstardom and helped turn the tide of the Monday Night Wars in the favour of WWF/E, subsequently crushing the opposition into oblivion.

Rowdy Roddy Piper v Hulk Hogan This feud might not be as well documented as many of the others, however, Roddy Piper is the only man who has had Hogan's number over the years. Piper remains the only man never cleanly defeated by Hogan and is the only on screen and in ring blot on the Hulkster's record. The 80's, 90's and 21st century have all featured elements of this feud within various promotions, however, it was the WWF/E that provided the mainstream and more majestic moments and encounters.

Hulk Hogan vs Macho Man Randy Savage - I mean that has to be one of the classic feuds in wrestling history. From Hogan helping Savage win the strap at Mania 4 to being the man to take from him at Mania 5 the execution of the entire storyline from start to finish was incredible. Savage turning on Hogan over Elizabeth and The Mega Powers exploding was incredible.

Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels - This one was just another amazing feud. Two top tier performers that really told a story in the ring. Their hatred in and out of the ring was incredible. From the 60 min iron man match at Mania all the way to the Montreal Screwjob, their feud was one of the best of all time.

The Rock vs Stone Cold Steve Austin - As another poster commented a feud that defined an era. Fans were split down the middle. They feuded for both the I-C and World straps on multiple occasions and it was a legendary feud that I can't see being duplicated in the future....

I'm only basing mine on rivalry's that I actually saw happen, so rivalry's like hogan and all of those aren't included. Mine would have to be

1. Shawn Michaels/Bret Hart
These two had battles since they were The Rockers and The Hart Foundation. They fueded with each other after that and turned Canada against the HBK. It was epic on so many levels.

2. Steve Austin/The Rock
These two were the biggest stars of their era and argubly of all time. The fued saw Austin hit by a car, thrown off a bridge, and numerous other things. It also saw Stone Cold join Triple H and Vince in an attempt to destroy The Rock.

3. The Rock/Triple H
Another rivalry that started from the beginning. As Rocky Maivia and Hunter Hearst Helmsley, these two started fueding the day Rocky stepped on the scene. Adding to it the Nation vs DX fued, the entire corperate movement, the two man power-trip, all the way through The Rock's entire career.

Honorable Mentions:

Dudley Boys/Edge & Christian/ Hardy Boys
One of the truly best tag team rivalries ever. It introduced the TLC match to the world. Each team specialized in each element. Dudleys slammed people through tables, E&C used chairs to do the conchairto, and the Hardys owned the air game with the ladders.

Kurt Angle/ Triple H
It included one of the greats, Triple H, one of the best technical wrestlers, Kurt Angle, and Stephanie McMahon before she got all of those "enhancements". It was an interesting story and it also involved another rivalry in Trish/Stephanie.

Triple H/Shawn Michaels
This one was great but a lot of the excitement is out of it because they are real life friends. It seemed more like a friendly rivalry than an actual fued.

Dennis Rodman Vs Karl Malone -- It transcended industries.

Eddie Guerrero Vs Rey Mysterio -- Most beautiful feud in the history of the WWE

The Rock Vs Mick Foley -- How many chair shots was it?

1 - Austin vs McMahon. Defined The Attitude Era.

2 - Hart vs Michaels. So much real heet between the 2 which ended in the most famous match in WWE history.

3 - Austin vs Rock. Spanned over 3 Wrestlemanias and headlined the best WM ever.
