Shadowmancer

I am The Last Baron
What are your top five finishers. They don't have to be WWE/TNA/WCW/RoH

-Emerald Frosion
-Go To Sleep (KENTA's version)
-Raven Effect DDT
-Pedigree
-Liontamer

I'll go for ones that would legit hurt.

DDT
Crossface
Samoan Spike
Batista Bomb (When will he cripple somebody with that move? I'll make the vBookie)
GTS

Like Jake, I prefer to see finishing moves that either a) appear to do some real, high impact damage... b) have a significant story behind it... or c) have an explanation as to why a wrestler who suffers the maneuver may be pinned or forced to tap out.

1. The Cross-face Chicken Wing. The move basically incapacitates an opponent. It appears to effect the neck and the shoulder, and leaves only one, non-dominant arm to fight or fend (or tap out for that matter). Wrapping up the legs makes getting to the ropes for a break a pipe dream.

2. Batista-Bomb / Power Bomb. I love the story behind the "banning" of the Power Bomb, and Batista does it better than pretty much anybody I've seen. He has so much power, and sets the move up well. Kevin Nash seemed to do it without regard for the opponent by jacknife "tossing" him, but I know he was good at it. Sid set it up well, but seeing him botch it too many times takes him out of it.

3. The Superkick. The reasons I went with "Sweet Chin Music" is because it is hands down among the most effective moves in the game. It can be measured and built up, but it can also be quick strike and sudden. The idea of a side crescent kick under the chin is the same concept of an uppercut in boxing. Take it on the chin and go down.

4. The Ankle Lock. While once ineffective due to the fact that an opponent had two arms and one leg free to move, Kurt Angle proved that it can work to one advantage to have the high ground, being able to roll with an opponent and, unlike moves like The Sharpshooter, allowing the person holding it to adjust. Also, when he first layed back and grapevined an opponents legs, the move went to a whole new level.

5. The Swanton Bomb. Maybe the only visually impressive (or as Slyfox would say, "Spot Monkey") move on my list, anybody who has ever botched a front flip off a swimming pool diving board and done a "back flop" knows how much impact you can hit with. Hardy isn't big, but the swan part of the dive adds impact the way the jacknife action in a frog splash does, and the move could legitimately knock the wind out of someone, making it hard for them to muster up the power in the ribs and air in the lungs to kick out.

Again, I like my moves to be based on "I know it's not 'real' but if it was, what would the result of the move be?

1) Canadian destroyer- looks an amazing move
2) Vertabreaker - looked painful
3) Reverse piledriver - impressive and looks dangerous.

ok, enough piledrivers
4) Widow maker (sean o'haire's reverse death valley driver)
5) shooting star press. just cos i think it's an impressive manoeuver.

In no particular order:

Sweet Chin Music - Capable of both a set up and a quick "out of nowhere" execution. When he tunes up that band, the crowd gets into it, and if he does it on the spur of the moment, its a shock of excitement.

Tombstone Piledriver - C'mon. That's cool. Lol.

Sharpshooter - Best submission move, I'd say. Its more elegant than a lot of them (like the ankle lock) and it still hurts like hell.

Power Bomb - Naturally, it seems more effective if a big guy does it. If a tall guy isn't using a power bomb, he's using a chokeslam, and they all do the big boot. Think about it. Lol. But still, the power bomb is a staple and, hell, its got "power" in its name for a reason.

Stunner - Like Sweet Chin Music, I like the moves that could come out of nowhere but can also be set up, as we as be the result of a counter-move. Stone Cold's stunner or any variation (RKO, Diamond Cutter, etc) are all capable of this.

HONORABLE MENTIONS:

Swanton Bomb - Definitely entertaining, but I'm always afraid Hardy's going to snap his neck lol.

Vader Bomb - You get a 500 lb guy doing that to you, its gonna hurt. Essentially its a typical splash but with a little zing to it and from a higher height, so it was more powerful.

Well I do have a few favourite finishers, such as the Swanton bomb, and the pedigree, but thats mainly because those two are my favourite wrestlers. The pedigree is just generally a good move, and the Swanton bomb is just perfect visually in my opinion, although one day i am pretty sure he will fuck it up.
I also quite like the ankle lock, not sure why, it just looks good and is a credible submission, because some just don't look ... well 'real' enough, yes i know its fake... before anyone says anything..
You also got to mention the tombstone pile driver, it is one of those moves that gets used rarely and that just makes it better.
I also like the 'X Factor' X-Pac used, don't know why, just like it. Besides when women do it, don't know why they seem to have adopted that move.
But i also got to mention the various power bombs that get used, they work well, i also like the dominator, and the pearl river plunge.
Oh and i quite liked the move that Trevor Murdock used on survivor series, didn't see him using that move!
