Hey guys,

I just wanted to start this thread to get your opinions on the most underrated WWE wrestlers, that are currently still wrestling, while sharing mine. So post your top three wrestlers that once had their spotlight, but have recently been shunned.

My 3 picks would be:

3: Carlito
This guy has been around with WWE since 2003. He is a great wrestler with a boring gimmick that is going nowhere. Change his gimmick maybe give him a new look. Maybe try him out as a face and see how that goes. His time in the sun came in 2004 in his debut match when he defeated John Cena for the US title. In 2005, Carlito defeated Shelton Benjamin for the Intercontinental title. Recently however, Carlito has been depleted into near nothingness. Sure, he and his brother won the Tag team titles, and became the first Unified Tag Team Champions. On SS this week, we saw the return of The Colóns, but what I want to see is him get a singles title. Vince, this man CAN wrestle, give him a shot.

2: Goldust
Okay, Goldust has been around since 1990. That's 20 years. He desperately in need of a new gimmick. He is a 3 time WWF IC champion, winning his first 2 titles in 1996, and winning his final IC title in 1999. He is a 9-time Hardcore Champion, and even for the Hardcore title thats alot. However, since leaving for TNA, and returning to WWE, he has been nothing. Being drafted to ECW, I thought he would win the ECW title, but didnt. Now being drafted to RAW, I know exactly what to expect: Nothing. Going to TNA, ruined Goldust's Reputation in WWE, just like Christian.

1: Chavo Guerrero
I'm going to say this right now, Chavo is a GREAT wrestler. Look out for him on Smackdown, you'll see what I mean. He has a great moveset, and I bet if Eddie (RIP) were still around, Chavo would actually be getting somewhere. Chavo is a 4 time Cruiserweight Champion, a 2 time WWE Tag Team Champion, with his uncle. He is also a 1 time ECW Champion. Now that he has been drafted to SD, alongside his aunt, Vickie. I'm hoping that he gets the Eric Escobar treatment. His aunt as consultant, giving him title shots. The only difference between Chavo and Escobar, Chavo deserves these titles for all the effort he has put into this company.

So, now I want to hear your choices. Tell me if you disagree with my choices, and why. Have Fun! :)

ehhh....they are all underrated but to a certain degree.....we all know chavo and goldust aint goin nowhere....carlito i agree is the most underrated.....forget matt hardy and others......he actually has character.....another underrated guy is MVP....another guy is R-Truth cuz he has some serious drawing ability if the company allows him to get anywhere, but age isnt on his side....another guy that is both under and overrated is Sheamus.....people love to hate him because of how he got to his current spot...but if you really pay attention to him he has some serious ability and hasnt even reached his full potential....jmo

I agree with you certainly on Goldust and Chavo Guerrero. Carlito certainly has the talent but I don't feel he's doing something with it.
I don't know if he's underrated, but in my opinion Kane deserves a more important role as a wrestler and possibly another title reign.
Regal's another great wrestler and I think it's a pity he's such an easy loser. One moment he defeats CM Punk to become King of the Ring and the other moment he loses in only a few seconds to Christian.

Yea, I agree with Carlito and Chavo because neither are terrible wrestlers or terrible talkers and deserve and deserve another chance to shine. Another superstar I would have to add is Evan Bourne. This guy is amazing in the ring and all they have been doing with him is feeding him to Sheamus to get squashed. I really believe that Evan Nourne can have a bright future. Another superstar I would say is underated is Cody Rhodes. During legacy's run everybody was just talking Ted Dibiase up and while Ted may be a better "superstar" I think Cody is still a better wrestler but maybe on SD, Cody can shine.
Honorable "and also underated" Mentions: Christian, John Morrison, and MVP.

I agree with you on all except for Goldust, who will probably always be just a gimmick at this stage. I'd like to replace Goldust with:

Santino Marella

The guy is awesome, IMO. He has been under-utilized ever since he first won & lost the Intercontinental Championship. Marella has the ability to be WWE Champion and a heel to be used in the same role as Kurt Angle was. He is also a solid wrestler and a good athlete. WWE has used this guy as a gimmick for far too long and they're really missing the proverbial boat here. Santino needs a major push, at least to US title level.

I agree with all of those, also kane. If anyone deserves a good title run is kane. His shit 1 day title run was bulshit and he's been around for so long, he deserves a world title.

Okay my three are:

Kane
He is a great worker, never compains, hardly ever gets injured and puts on a really good show. Hes really agile for a big guy and his mic work is actually really good, which is astonishing for a big dude.

Evan Bourne
Yeah i know, everybody thinks hes just a spot guy but he really puts on good matches, is really over with the crowd and if they gave him more air time and a decent feud, im sure his mic skills would improve. I think he should be in a feud with The Miz for the US Title, Miz could help him with his Mic Skills and the two of them could put on good matches.

Santino Marella
Like Morpheus said he is really underutilized. he is a great worker and really good on the mic. He's also a good wrestler and when hes not forced to act stupid he can put on a good match. I loved when he was a heel and was the IC Champion with Beth Phoenix at his side, his Honkameter thing was gold and always made me laugh. They should make him heel again, i still think he should be a funny heel but not so much a cartoon character.

Christian - For whatever reason, he isn't main eventing. He gets a huge pop from the crowd, and puts on a great show, He's underrated to a point that hes still in midcard, but thats not high enough.

Dolph Ziggler - He had some steam, but he slowed down due to poor booking, and now he's only wrestling to get squashed or on Superstars. He's a great wrestler but deserves more.

Carlito - He just needs to put in the effort and he should be up there in the midcard (At least) . Hes WAS very entertaining, maybe hes gotta go back to what he was doing before he left and came back with primo.

Santino Marella-great comedy guy on the mic but deserves to showcase more of his wrestling skills.

Kane-a decent big man wrestler in the ring, rarely gets injured and he can give you a pretty decent match and never whines about his position on the card.

William Regal-one of the most under-used WWE superstars, he has good technical skills, solid on the mic and can give you a good brawl and plays his heel role to perfection.

Mark Henry- The guy can be one of the best heels in the world. Now all he is used is for poorly put together comedy sketches. He was one of the most dominant heels and he can quite possibly be at a high mid-card spot. Now all he is reduced to is hitting Buzz Aldron with a chair on the "moon"

Matt Hardy- After getting beat down after beat down by Drew McIntyre what does he get? Nothing. He gets replaced with Kofi and now quite possibly is out of the fued. He has potential to be Intercontinental Champ and he could give Swagger a run for his money. He won't win, but he could give a good show.

Evan Bourne- Everyone has been after him in this thread and now i will. He could be the one to take Miz' title off of him. I would love to see him as U.S. Champ. He could take that title to the best seeing as how it hasn't been defended in over a month and now will be defended once against Bret Hart (Woo? Not.) Evan needs to be pushed and he needs the title. Plain and simple.

I think MVP, is still underated, I would like to see him in an interesting non-title feud. Someone who can carry him to main-event status, kidna like what they did to Kofi, but I don't know where that went.

I was gonna agree with the carlito one, but since he returned to his tag team, I think they'll challenge for the tag titles...but I was hoping he could have another good run as US or IC champion.

I would like John morrison to get that one big push, like they gave Miz this huge push.

I think Vladimir Kozlov could dominate with a title run, maybe the US title, but have him defend it, really dominate and also he could rename it to 'His Russian Champion' or something like that.

I noticed some mention Chavo, I believe there is nothing there anymore for him to do, he will just have to do with being an original on Superstars.

Chris Masters needs a title shot, he needs to redeem himself, he's got the body, he's not all on the mic, but he can sure wrestle, turn him back to a heel, and have him do something every week.

Okay so i've mentioned more than 3, but my top 3 would be:

1. John Morrison

2. Vladimir Kozlov

3. Chris Masters

Christian - He's fantastic. He has great mic skills, gets a great pop from the crowd every single time he walks down the ramp and he has a solid match every time out. I know that many years ago the WWE chose Edge to be the breakout star from E&C, but it's time that Christian be a main event guy, too. He's earned it.

Cody Rhodes - Rhodes always seemed to be nothing more than the 3rd guy in Legacy. Much like most fans, when comparing the two, I have always said that DiBiase has more talent. But that doesn't mean that Rhodes doesn't have a bright future. Cody has a good look, is solid on the mic and technically sound in the ring.

Evan Bourne - He's small and has a moveset centered around aerial moves....so what? Bourne is NOT just some spotmonkey (whatever that means). He is great at selling and has technical ability as well. Not to mention that he gets a good reaction from the fans, as well. For whatever reason, people don't give him any credit.
