Top-3 Things You Would Do to Bring Prestige Back to the TV Championship?

1) Have Eric Young drop the TNA IMPACT Wrestling Television Championship to a popular wrestler who can draw, sell tickets, etc...
Example:
"The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero
Kazarian
"Super Mex" Hernandez
Alex Shelley
Crimson
Gunner
Bully Ray
"Cowboy" James Storm
Austin Aries
"The Blueprint" Matt Morgan

2) TREAT the IMPACT Wrestling T.V. Championship as a REAL mid-card/secondary singles title. Use the television title as a stepping stone for future main eventers AND future world champions.

3) DEFEND the television championship at ALL TNA IMPACT Wrestling Events. I would love to see a television title match at a future IMPACT Wrestling Pay Per View event.

I think that TNA needs to treat the TV Title like the WWE used to treat the Intercontinental Title: as the "workhorse" title of the promotion. That way it can be used as a legit second-tier belt to the World Heavyweight Championship. Because, let's face it, the X Division belt does not belong around a "heavyweight"
Idk what the "x" in X divison means.. but saying a heavyweight cant hold it is nonsense. I could easily see guys like Snuka, Big Van Vader in his prime, and Bam Bam Bigelow holding that title..

1. i would give it to someone who would bring meaning to it, not eric young who makes it a laughing stock. maybe someone like alex shelley, who could take a break from tag team and x-divison and compte for the tv championship until chris sabin comes abck

2. i would make the holder defend it every show to show that the name does have meaning, aka the tv title.

3. i would add more people to the chase so it would seem like a big deal. add someone big like samoa joe or some thing

Here are the 3 things that I would do, in no particular order.

1. WEEKLY TNA TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES
Quick, what's this title's name? Oh, right. The TNA TELEVISION Championship. It needs to be defended on television, and never on PPV. I would have it be up for grabs every single week. It gives fans something to look forward to each week and adds credibility to whoever holds it if they retain many times. It would also force TNA into a place where they have to make storylines for it, which brings me to my 2nd bullet.

2. STORYLINES
This belt needs angles, just as every other title. If there is no storyline then it turns into "you have a championship, I want it!" and no one cares about something as boring as that. If TNA booked storylines for this title then it would not seem so pointless anymore.

3. PUT IT ON GUYS WHO WILL MATTER LONGTERM
The ship sailed LONG ago with Eric Young. If they insist on booking him so terribly, then he has no business in ever holding another title. The Television Championship should serve the purpose that a secondary title is meant to have, a chance to see if a midcarder could be a potential main eventer, because then the fans can see what he is like as a champion, instead of having a pointless belt like this one. The X Division Championship does this for the most part, but with a roster as large as they have they really need to be using both secondary titles in the same way. Combine this point with my other two then you have a potential future main eventer who is given a shot with a title, placed into a storyline, and given weekly challengers until he is ready to move on. Really, it's not rocket science. TNA can pull this off.

1.As Everyone says Defend it regularly on TV
2.Give it to Jeff. Hardy Or Jarrett
3. make sure the matches are well thought about e.g have good, entertaining matches.

That should give the title some prestige

Eric Young is great, the gimmick works and he's even better between the ropes.

He's working a program with Robbie E now which gets both air time and hopefully a PPV spot.

Long term, if you want Crimson to have a valuble streak then have him defend this weekly until his pop is so huge he can challenge for the World Title.

Three things I would do to bring “prestige” back to the TNA Television Title are:

Have TNA Television Title matches every week on Impact Wrestling. You can have it at the 9:00, 10:00, or even Main Event at 11:00, just have it on every week for the rest of the TV Titles existence. Make the TV Title the number one Title on TV. This also gives a little more importance to the TNA World Title as that Title should only be defended on PPVs.

Have former World Champions gun for the TV Title. The easiest way to bring prestige back to a Mid-Card Title is to have a former World Champion hold the Strap. It worked out really well for the Intercontinental and United States Titles up North. It should work out well down South. Picture Superstars like Kurt Angle or Samoa Joe holding the Red Strap and defending in week in and week out against all comers. Yes, I feel the prestige too.

This last reason is more of a personal reason / storyline I came up with a while back. I’d like to see Eric Young do the split personality storyline, but instead of “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde”, I want to see “Eve White, Eve Black and Jane”. I want to see Television Champion, “EY” (Fun loving Face), Global Champion, Eric Young (Heel World Elite Leader version), and Legends Champion, Super Eric (masked Superstar Legend). How fun would it be to see him defend the Title under 3 names. 3 names for the Title, 3 personas for Eric.

Okay, 2 out of 3 will bring prestige back, but the last one was really just for me.

i would...
1. at least feature the title once every week, and defend it every now and then. not necessarily change hands, but make it interesting; give the fans a reason to remember this title even exists, and that there is some prestige associated with it.
2. give it to someone who's gonna be a main event star in the long run. see how he handles being a champion. wwe has done it in the recent past: miz was really good with the u.s. title, so they decided to push him for the wwe title. That way, it will be more of a boon than a burden.
3. If you can't do either of the above, then take it off the air. What's the use of a title and a champion who appear once in a full moon, that too, only to talk about another guy? time is short, spend it wisely. spend the time you get from this to work on the knockouts tag team titles, NOT hulk hogan.

-Like I said in another thread, have TNA World champ Roode challenge EY for his tv Belt. Roode is so arrogant than he thinks it's gonna be easy. But Young win the match in a fluke. Roode goes after Young and Young always manage to win and it frustrates Roode rekindling their old rivalry.

-Next time it's for Roode's World title. This time Roode wins but the match is hard fought and it ends when Pope cost Young. After the match Young is still the TV champ but he wants to take on Pope.

-Pope vs Young. Pope win the match becoming new TV champ. Keeping it for a long time.

what is the point in getting Bobby Roode involved? pretty pointless if you ask me.... why not just go straight to a Pope vs Young feud? :/

In order to bring prestige to the TV title, it has to be treated as a big deal. I haven't been emotionally invested in feud between Eric Young and Robbie E. at all because it's been basically a comedy angle and really nothing to be taken seriously. I don't really have a problem with Eric Young as I find him entertaining and a good wrestler but he needs to be given a more meaningful feud and something to get people emotionally invested in. The belt needs to be treated as a priority (which I suppose is a hard thing to do especially with all the titles in the company) and not a joke. Also, I never watched WCW or whenever the original TV title was around but apparently the original TV title was defended on a regular weekly basis. That said, in order for the TV title to be treated as a real TV title it must be defended every week. Make the belt seem worth fighting for with contenders wanting it. Having guys like Kurt Angle hold the belt wouldn't be a bad idea either as a feud with Angle could do wonders for a young up and comer's (like Crimson, maybe) career especially if they win the title from him.

If booked correctly, the TV title could make an excellent stepping stone towards the world title (even though I kinda wish that was what the X Division title was for) and would be given more meaning.

After seeing Eric Young actually defend the TV title in god knows how long it got me to thinking that the TV title should actually be more than what it is. When AJ renamed it in honor of Flair i thought it would finally be something. In the last year or so It's obvious I was 1,000% wrong and the TV title is worse than nothing but it's not to(o) late to bring it back from the dead even if it does take a very (,)very long time.
Use proper grammar.
I can;t stress this enough and it's #1 for a reason. Eric Young is in a match once every 5 months it seems. If the TV title is gonna be worth a damn it needs to be on TV and that won't be with Eric Young otherwise they would have done it already.
Right, but that can be fixed by handing the belt to someone else. Hasn't this been said since 2009 with zero success with every single new champion?

Eric Young is good in the ring but he's a comedy character. The title needs to be in the possession of someone who the people actually care about. My pick would be either Matt Morgan or Crimson. Those 2 are hot as shit right now but not really doing anything. People love both of them and they are on TV a whole hell of a lot more than EY is.
Right. But the fact he's more over than Morgan and Crimson should be ignored because YOU want them as Champion. Despite being a comedy character, Eric Young has shown far better drawing ability and charisma than Crimson or Morgan. He is easily the midcard's most popular star due to his character. Reason enough to make him it's Champion even if he's not on TV enough.

Going back to my pick of Either Morgan or Crimson both can have a believable feud with Samoa Joe and if they were champion the title could easily be brought into it.
Except that feud was about the WORLD Championship title match at Bound For Glory. Pretty stupid to have guys fighting over being screwed of a World title shot at the biggest PPV of the year and just settling for the midcard belt.
There are others they could feud with all TNA needs to make sure is that it's someone the fans love to hate.
Like Eric Young is doing with with the Anti-Hamster Bros.

People loving seeing the bad guy lose, especially if it's for the title. And if the heel does win the title the people would love nothing more than the face to beat him down and get it back, again though it needs to be someone people care about.
Thank you for booking 101. We have 5 other titles to do the same thing with, so I think we get the concept.

I have so many more things I would do but I did say top 3 so I'm gonna leave it there. What top 3 things would you do to bring prestige back to the TV Championship?

I won't suggest a damn thing to you. Because the issue has been clear as day for years. TNA has a far too developed roster to showcase in just 2 hours of TV a week. It becomes more glaring as time goes by. That is the only reason why wrestlers practically need to make a line to get airtime. So unless you can pull the proper strings to nab them a second 2 hour wrestling show, I suggest you can the flawed suggestions. Because as long as their time remains as limited as it is, nothing like this can be fixed.

1. Have Robbie E get into a feud with someone with talent that has been buried like KAz or Samoa Joe. I know Joe is heel as well, but his character has that "Don't give a damn" mentality, and I could see him taking it from Robbie, just because he doesn't like the guy

2. Consistently defend the belt on television.

3. Give whomever is the staple champion with that belt a real push, only slightly lesser than the WC push. This last one is the only way you are going to elevate this belt to anything more than "Oh yeah, we have a TV title too"
