Fast and Easy - SGH Productions presents:
TNA iMPACT! Edition ONE - Saturday 11th March 2007
Dazzling pyrotechnics explode in the iMPACT Zone - the home of TNA - setting off the audience who whoop and cheer. The commentator’s voices soon chime over the noise, introducing the show.
Joey Styles: Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Saturday Night iMPACT. Tonight we’re back where it all started - the original iMPACT Zone, Soundstage 21, Universal Studios here in sunny Orlando, Florida. I am Joey Styles, here with my broadcast partner; Jerry “the King” Lawler!
The King: I’ve got a good feeling about the show tonight, Joey. And to kick it off, what a match, round 1 of our tournament to name a no.1 contender for the title, featuring Chris Jericho and Sting!
Singles Match-
World Heavyweight Title Contendership Tournament Round 1-
Sting vs. Chris Jericho
A strong opening match. The two went at it right from the bell. They managed to cancel out each others’ technical skills with a number of reversals and so the match moved on to a measurement of power. After a spectacular double cross-body block, both wrestlers went down. Sting was the first to get to his feet and locked the Scorpian Death Lock onto the fallen Y2J. Jericho somehow managed to counter into the Walls of Jericho and dragged the Legend into the centre of the ring. Try as he might, Sting just couldn’t break the hold but refused to give up. After a few agonising minutes of writhing in pain, his body disobeyed his will and he passed out. Referee Earl Hebner ordered the hold broken and awarded the match to Chris Jericho.
Winner: Chris Jericho
Jericho advances to Round 2 of the tournament.
4-Way Match
X Division Title-
Shelton Benjamin vs. Chris Sabin vs. Petey Williams vs. Christopher Daniels ©
High-flying and technical trickery aplenty in this title match. Chris Sabin was all but eliminated after a 450 splash onto a stray table courtesy of Shelton. The referee was lenient and decided to not call for DQ. This left three superstars standing in the ring. Daniels and Williams attempted to team on Benjamin but it backfired when he delivered super kicks to both. After a kick out from both opponents, Shelton pulled Williams to his feet and was greeted by a shot to the gut, followed by the death-defying Canadian Destroyer. Daniels rose to his feet just in time to deliver a powerful dropkick to Williams, knocking him out of the ring. Daniels turned round only to be thrown into the Cradle Shock by a recuperated Sabin and covered for the 1-2-3.
Winner: Chris Sabin
Sabin is the new X Division Champion.
Singles Match-
World Heavyweight Title Contendership Tournament Round 1-
CM Punk vs. Little Guido
CM Punk dominated throughout in this match. His superior agility, quickness and ring savvy allowed for him to keep Guido grounded for much of their time in the ring together. Guido managed to mount a small offence but it was quickly squashed when Punk countered with an inertia DDT from the corner. Punk locked in the Anaconda Vice and soon had Guido tapping. Another straight victory for the straight edge lifestyle.
Winner: CM Punk
Punk advances to Round 2 of the tournament.

3-Way Tag Team Match-
NWA World Heavyweight Tag Team Titles-
The Cage Brothers vs. Team Xtreme vs. Team 3D ©
A meeting of gigantic proportions and a reflection of times gone past. Utter chaos ensued once the bell rang on this one, all three teams brawling. The Cage Brothers were the first team to be ejected from the ring, being put on the back foot by a temporary alliance from Xtreme and 3D. Team 3D managed to incapacitate the Hardyz long enough to bring out the tables outside the ring. After a few hit and miss attempts, Jeff Hardy was the unfortunate one that fell victim to a 3D through the table. By this time, the Cage Brothers had found their way back into the ring, awaiting their opponents in fighting stance. However, the fighting wouldn’t continue, as the referee loudly announced “10!”.
Winners by count-out: The Cage Brothers
The Cage Brothers are the new tag team champions.
Aftermath: The Cage Bros. Quickly fled with the tag belts in hand, leaving 3D to get their revenge on the referee with a devastating 3D.
Joey Styles: What a night it has been! Both titles that were on the line were lost in two shocking twists.
The King: And it’s not over yet Joey! Next up we have what is possibly the greatest iMPACT! Main Event in history; Bill Goldberg vs. Kurt Angle for the third place in Round 2 of our no.1 contender tournament!
Main Event-
World Heavyweight Title Contendership Tournament Round 1-
Bill Goldberg vs. Kurt Angle
Two men that will live in history forever as some of the greatest wrestlers of our time. The two shook hands before doing battle, a sign of respect. Goldberg over-powered Angle for much of the match but the Olympic Hero was able to stay in it using smart reversals. Angle began to gain the upper hand when out of nowhere, Goldberg hit a powerful Jackhammer Powerbomb. The powerhouse waited for Angle to get up, measuring him for a spear. When Goldberg finally charged, Angle just managed to dodge the spear, sending Goldberg hurtling into the ringpost. As he stumbled back Angle threw him into the Angle slam and covered him for three.
Winner: Kurt Angle
Angle advances to Round 2 of the tournament.
Aftermath: iMPACT! goes off air as Angle celebrates over his fallen opponent.
