"THE" U.P. Presents: The Premiere TNA Book This!
Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling - "Rise Of The Underdog"
TNA's success over the recent years is well documented, after getting a slot on network television, and signing big named superstars to the company they were certainly on the map. However, they were still looked at as not a threat to their rival, World Wrestling Entertainment. Being in second place is something no one in TNA wanted, and no one wanted to legitimatly compete with Vince McMahon and the WWE more than Dixie Carter. It seemed, though, whenever TNA gained some steam and some momentum, they would just make mistakes in booking or storylines and fall flat on their faces. Dixie Carter was determined to get it right this time around, however, and she would do so by making a move that many in the company would question.
Alex Christian was an unknown in the wrestling business, he was a young man who studied everything to do with the history of wrestling and the in's and out's of it. He wanted to make his mark, not as a superstar, but as a company executive who would run things and make his company that he would be employed for the best in the business. However, his dream of working alongside members of the WWE would not be realised, at least not as soon as he would have liked. He was told he was too young, too inexperienced, too ouch of touch with the wrestling world. But who were these people to question his passion for the very thing he loved? He knew in his mind that he could do much better than some of the people under the employ of the WWE, but he kept his mouth shut. After all, he couldn't burn that bridge just yet. So, with his tail tucked firmly between his legs, Alex would leave WWE Headquarters and almost give up on his dream. Almost. As he soon found himself in a meeting with TNA's Dixie Carter, who for all intents and purposes, never really thought the youngster was going to get hired for anything but was willing to hear him out. After discussing the business, what Alex invisioned the wrestling world being like down the road, and hearing his ideas which seemed fresh and inivative, Carter was intrigued and gave the youngster a second interview at a later date.
2 months later, Alex Christian was now the Executive Vice President of the second biggest wrestling company in America, TNA. Of course the veterans on the staff, and even the superstars, had justifiable doubts about this kind of a move. Afterall, giving an unproven man so much power, didn't seem like such a smart plan. But, history would be kind to Alex, and the WWE would regret the day that they let the young kid from Arizona leave their offices.
Meeting at TNA Offices
Executive Vice President: Alex Christian

Executive Vice President: Alex Christian
We see members of the TNA staff all sitting around a large table, where Dixie Carter is at the end looking over some papers in front of her. Sitting beside Carter is the new young Executive VP, Alex Christian. He looks over the other men around him, with a confident yet inviting smile, as everyone else looks at him with a bit of doubt and disgust. He notices this, but acts like it doesn't bother him. After a few moments, Carter looks up with a grin, and begins the meeting.
Dixie Carter: "Thank you all for being here, we have a few matters that we need to discuss, I think perhaps we should begin with the big 'elephant' in the room though. I know some of you are upset, or have doubts, with regard to my naming Alex Christian the Executive Vice President of this company. Now, before I open this up for discussion, I want to be clear that my decision is final and although your opinions and thoughts matter to me I know that this young man is the answer for this company. You have all given me your trust before, and I wouldn't expect anything less now. With all that said, I open the floor to anything you have to say, regarding this matter."
The entire staff want to jump on this opportunity to speak their minds, because they believe this signing is a huge mistake and don't want the company to suffer from it, but none are willing to speak up right away as they respect Dixie too much and don't want any backlash either. After a little while, Jeff Jarrett is the first to make his voice heard.
Jeff Jarrett: "I.. I just don't get it. I mean, you didn't even consult me on this decision, Dixie. Am I not one of the heads of this company?"
The other staff members eyes now shift toward Carter, who nods her head.
Dixie Carter: "I understand your frustration, and perhaps I should have consulted you, because yes you are one of the heads of this company Jarrett. But, I felt I needed to act fast on this. Alex already interviewed with the WWE, and I didn't want them reconsidering him and snatching him up. Trust me, he is going to be good for this business and good for our company."
The eyes now shift back to Jarrett, who now looks toward Alex.
Jeff Jarrett: "Alright, kid, if she says your a good hire then i'll take her at her word. But, I need to know... no... we need to know a few things. Why do you think you are ready for this position, you admittidly have no experience, why should any of us put faith in you?"
Alex adjusts his tie, and smiles.
Alex Christian: "Yes, I have very little experience in this type of role. But i've been dreaming of this all my life, I have studied and worked hard to learn this business and in my honest opinion I am ready to handle this. I know that no one in here believes in me, except Dixie Carter, and I wouldn't expect any of you to. I will prove my worth to each and every one of you though, I promise nothing but my absolute best, all I ask for is a chance."
Doubt is still felt in the air, thick as fog, and the CEO now has a few words.
Dean Broadhead: "OKay, Alex, we appreciate the fact that you are so dedicated. But dedication does not always equal success, the fact is you have to understand what your doing, and that comes with experience. But, you want a chance? You're already hired, so we have no choice but to give you that, so why don't you tell us what you see for the future of TNA?"
Focus shifts back to Alex, who handles some papers in front of him, going over some of his notes as he anticipated being asked about his plans.
Alex Christian: "Well, i'll go over a few things for you. First off, what happened to the X-Division? Correct me if i'm wrong, but wasn't that one of the major draws of this promotion? I really think we need to put an emphasis back on that division, give it more time and put more thought into how we handle it. I think signing some new guys, not just for that division, but all around would help too. I'm not talking about cast-offs either, sure we can still scout some of those as well, but I think we need to hire some independent guys. There are plenty of talented guys out there, who havn't gotten time in front of an audiance, and we can build them up into future faces for this company. Another thing, the Legends Title, I really think it takes away from other things. In my opinion, we should consider de-sactioning it. These are just a few things, there are more that i'd like to unveil at a later time but not here."
These ideas go over pretty good with the staff, as they all look at each other and nod, though they could just be doing so as they don't want to disagree with the young man in front of Dixie. The camera's fade out, as the meeting continues.
