[TNA] PCS Challenge, anyone?

King Of The Ring
Okay, I don't know how many of you know or even remember the PCS Challenge. Personally, I found bits and pieces of it on TNA's YouTube channel and thought it was pretty hilarious. I enjoy a bit of humour in a wrestling program. For example, this week's segment between The MCMG and London Brawlin' got me teary eyed, the fans were so much into it - it was just brilliant TV and brought me back to the good 'ol days when whenever wrestlers would get in the ring they'd always trash-talk eachother, the heels would be made fun of, fans would love it, etc etc, the classic story. Anyway, the point is, I miss wrestling-related humor in wrestling. WWE's attempting to do it and it falls flat each and every time. Some guy bouncing his man tits around and a dance off between two worthless guys isn't enough to make me even think of smiling.

Do you want the PCS Challenges back in some shape?

If so, would you want them to be aired on TNA or be some web-series?

Who do you think is going to fit nicely in that environment.

IMO I think Nash is a must if this thing is ever to reappear. He made the whole show. With his career possibly coming to an end I can see it happening. TNA usually does some interesting web-series. I'm not sure if they'll be met positively if aired on iMPACT due to the fact that they're longer than five minutes, and any non-promo/non-match footage over five minutes is straight out bromidic and takes away from the importance of the program itself, no matter how entertaining.

Sure, why not? As of late, I feel TNA could really use a fun-loving side to it. I enjoy Xplosion to see Eric Young's antics there. iMPACT! could use defiantly benefit from it. The show can be too serious at times.

That clip made me miss the good days of the X-Division. And Austin Starr was a great character and wrestler. Dixie should do all she can to get him back and put the belt on him.

Which is extremely ironic, considering this time a year ago people were complaining about too much comedy on the shows. I digress...

Bringing back the PCS would be alright, or something to spark some life back into the X-Division. I know the focus of the show is the World Title, but that's all TNA does is focus on the World Title and the older guys. The X-Division could use a boost, in some shape or form. The PCS would be alright like I said, but TNA seems to rely too much on tournaments, lets try something different.

I agree with you 50/50. The half that I agree with you on is the PCS. But it wasn't the PCS so much as it was Nash's comedic genius that made the whole thing a classic. If they let Nash loose with the comedy again, I think that he could be TNA's BETTER version of Big Show. I'm sorry guys, but Nash was the original prankster big man. Anybody else currently doing it is fooling themselves into thinking that they are actually doing it any justice,

Now the half that I completely disagree with you about is the Austin Starr thing. The thing that most people don't realize is that Austin has a hard time separating himself from his gimmick. He's really a supreme dick and rubbed alot of people the wrong way and quickly wore out his welcome. To bring him back would be a HUGE mistake. And to put a title on him, if you did, would be the self destruction of the X-Division. A smarter pic would be Jimmy Jacobs, and I'm sure that you could get him for half the money that it would take to bring back Aries.

The MCMG/LB epic promo was much needed in TNA. The company had gotten to violent and serious. After jay lethal epic imitation of ric flair, there had been nothing funny in TNA.

See and that reminds me of something. Jimmy Jacobs is an awesome talent. As a matter of fact, the indies are FULL of awesome X-Division style athletes who would work for TNA, and not for tons of money. All TNA needs to do is search for them. These guys want exposure and TNA's a place where they can get it. They can go to WWE too, but there they risk of getting their gimmick and moves watered down to a complete nothing, i.e Sinn Bodhi.

Reforming the X-Division is not another "mission impossible". Say Dixie pulls off a miracle and signs 4-5 cool high-flyers from the indies and brings them in. Bring them in a stable or two stables. I don't care. Have them be pissed off at Doug Williams for calling them a circus act, or at TNA management. Give them a gimmick, and that's it. The X-Division guys were always the "cool" ones on the card. Cool gear, cool gimmicks, cool moves. They don't cost a ton eihter. Give them exposure on the card and there you have it. The X-Division guys can do only ONE thing to get over - fuckin' wrestle. That's it. I don't even care if they can talk, just wrestle. Do your spots, do the flippy things you do, just do 'em for two matches or something. Throw a SL or two in the division and mwah.

IMO if TNA reforms the X-Division like it should, I think a lot of people will stop bitching about crap. Their Tag-Division is going sky high, the KO's division is watchable again with the return of Tara who I've always praised. Katie Lea Burchill could sign with the company as she had a dark match, bring Daffney back and another cool chicka and there you have it. Then you have the Main Eventers with Fourtune, Angle, Hardy, Pope, Anderson, plus some old farts like Nash and Sting. The EV2 thing won't last long so once that's done it's time for action. IF they do that, I think that there's going to be a significant improvement of the product.

Plus, a little humor like the PCS will never, ever hurt the company. A good ballance between the two is what they need. The PCS is just an example. TNA's always been incredibly creative as far as things like that go and I trust they can pull another one off again.
