EY & ODB's Wedding: One of the Funniest Segments of All-Time!

i agree i was sitting there laughing my ass off at the wedding i was surprised in a way nothing happened to break it up i mean what is this the 2nd wedding ever in wrestling that went off without a bang? sarita and rosita looked fucking HOT last night hell i would have been out of the cage before sarita even took her robe off! and of course in true EY fashion he took his pants off, turned down 2 hotties and took the uh...woman? that is ODB :lmao:

Didn't even crack a smile it was so utterly bad, but that doesn't mean it was. JMO. If people liked it that's cool.

Not everyone enjoyed it so what, To me It was one of the best on air weddings. ODB looked like a woman, I was in shock, even when she stripped she looked good and She acts like a man more then others do, I still say she's gonna hold EY's balls in her purse or bra but I really think that the EY/ODB wedding was great.

People who thought this was funny, are the kinda people who buy those straight to DVD sequals of movies, where none of the original cast came back. Like the American pie ones. People who found this funny Find people like Tim Allen funny....People who found this funny think Glee is a GREAT SHOW

This segment ... and the entire build up for it and weekly injection of it ... was totally fantastic.

Both of these performers have really taken what could have been crap and turned it into gold. It was funny (maybe not one of the funniest in years) and was very watchable ... as the whole storyline has been.

Kudos to TNA for hitting on a solid comedy angle.

I don't understand the attitude where you HAVE to like it. EY's comedy stylings are not for everyone. That's been true since he got hit in the head and became this goofball again. I'm not faulting anyone for liking it, but don't fault anyone for not liking it either.

I personally find the guy painfully unfunny and pretty much always have. That's my taste though. I don't get how people find him funny but I'm not going to name call or worse because I feel that way. If you like him, kudos. However, I maintain my right to think he's not funny and that the segment I watched last night wasn't funny.

This segment is the epitome of why TNA will never reach WWE heights. Sure, WWE used to do stuff like this back in the day (HHH and Steph, MM and Elizabeth, Edge and Lita), but times have changed and fans no longer buy into stupid garbage like this.

Okay, that's that idea dispelled.

Personally, I thought it was a great segment despite having reservations beforehand. What got me was that it had subtleties that are very rarely seen in Sport's Entertainment comedy spots - it has already been pointed out or alluded too that ODB looked very well for someone who is generally portrayed as very masculine and that the outfits that the MA girls were wearing weren't overly sexy. This was to illustrate her as not being the 'booby prize' (;)) KnockOut.

However, no-one has noted about ODB also doing a great acting job; showing distress, including actual tears, when it appeared that EY was considering the harlot option (Eve should be sent a copy for reference).

While there was a comedy aspect to her then stripping off the wedding dress, it wasn't just for comedic effect - it was a desperate last gasp attempt to keep her man, which built some trepidation that there might not be a happy ending.

This was all accentuated by EY who portrayed throughout this portion uncertainty as to which road he was going to travel.

With these elements observed, it helped with the release of humor in the remainder of the 'ceremony'.

Comedy is in the eye of the beholder and will be subject to many variables but as far as performance or execution, this did tick all the boxes for a successful segment.

Very enjoyable segment. ODB has been my favorite KO since Kong left & EY seems like such a natural in his comedic role. I was wondering before the show "Who's gonna mess this up for them" but when Sarita & Rosita came, I knew they weren't gonna venture off to the side too much. I was thinking they may have brought back the GIT HER(or however he spelled it) guy to re confess his love to ODB, but this worked fine. But it was good to use them as the classic example of KOs to try to deter EY. No one else would've fit there.

Only in TNA can you say a couple getting married in matching
camoflauge bra & panties(and cumberbund) is a sight to see. Its nice to see people be creative nowadays

Damn, they need to bring that guy back from the dating angle.. trying to steal ODB back and him and EY go at it!! lmao!

But yea, i was dreading this wedding but it was pretty cool.

I missed, I was watching it, then starting forwarding through, then played it when Rosita and Sarita took their clothes off, then once that was done, I forwarded it again

I may have to go and rewatch,

But nothing will be as funny as the Woo-off,

That was pure gold, that and the "hogan ring"

It was a great segment. I am a fan of EY, and ODB is one of my two favorite knockouts. I thought this would be terrible, but it was awesome.

I don't know that it was the funniest segment of all time, and going in I was really not looking forward to it, but I have to say it was really funny. Eric's suit and the random glasses he had on was enough to make me crack up. The whole thing took place in a cage for God's sake. It was just so ridiculous that it was funny. This is one of those times where we all just need to lighten up a bit and laugh at it. I am not saying you have to like it, but at least watch it with an open mind.

This is the kind of stuff that makes people despises wrestling. Cheap, lame, not funny, lowbrow, vulgar, pathetic, cartoonish. When I see stuff like Young's wedding, I want to quit watching wrestling.

Quit watching then.

Or just bugger off and watch ROH, DGUSA, PWG, Chikara or whatever holier than thou, underground, glorified, spotty bullshit is en vogue this month. Comedy has always been an essential piece of the modern sports entertainment jigsaw puzzle. It lightens the tone, and sometimes - get this - makes people laugh and endears them to the performers. Do you remember the pops for Santino at EC?

Ultimately, wrestling is about storytelling, and while I'd agree that the main canvas for storytelling should be wrestling matches, promos and skits are neccessary to round things off. WWE and TNA are not making programming for sour faced smarks. It's mostly for casual viewers and kids. Casual viewers and kids lap this shit up and put money through the books.

If you hate "lowbrow, vulgar and cartoonish", I can only presume you view the Attitude era (ie the last big pro wrestling boom) as wrestling's darkest days?

For the record, I love EY and ODB. Well done TNA. It was almost a genius swerve that the wedding went ahead with minimal disruption.

Yea that's original. Fortunely guys like Bobby Roode and AJ keep me watching.

Too little time on my hands to watch those.

Comedy has always been an essential piece of the modern sports entertainment jigsaw puzzle.

I have no idea what that means.

It lightens the tone, and sometimes - get this - makes people laugh

i'm not watching wrestling for that.

and endears them to the performers

But what happens if a wrestler's only act is comedy? it's more than just being endearing

Do you remember the pops for Santino at EC?

Yea I hate everyone that popped for that. They're not my kind of wrestling fans.

I doubt comedy has ever made ANY promotions money.

I was watching Nitro back then so the stupid shit was kept to a minimum.

I don't mind humour during a wrestling program but when it becomes a big focus, that promotion lose their track. Especially since wrestling promotions in general are mediocre at humour. Their idea of humour is walking on a banada type of stuff. Damn wrestling wedding again? So unoriginal, so boring.

For the record, I love EY and ODB. Well done TNA. It was almost a genius swerve that the wedding went ahead with minimal disruption.

I hate HATE that whole act. I enjoyed EY just fine for a few skits but the whole thing ODB has been horrible infunny tv viewing.

Fair enough, but Eric Young and ODB had a 15 minute comedy skit ONCE. Every other week, they get 5 minutes (max 10 if it's a match) if anything at all. It's not the be all and end of the world, and I'm not arguing with you not enjoying a highly subjective piece of entertainment.

It's the old 3 ring circus analogy of wrestling. If you don't like the clowns, they'll be gone in a minute and the acrobats will be along.

I don't watch wrestling for comedy segments either, in as much as I don't tune in to IW every week thinking "I hope I get a damn good laugh tonight", but I'm glad there's a bit of light and shade to the average show.

You "hate" everyone who popped for Santino at EC? Jesus, them's some issues right there. Wrestling fans are not a homogenous group. Not everybody is a stony faced smark. Sorry.

Comedy has probably never directly made a promotion money, but some of wrestling's biggest draws could be pretty damn funny. Rock? Jericho? Foley? DX? The NWO?

Stupid shit was kept to a minimum on Nitro in the late 90s? Hahahaha. Perhaps it wasn't riddled with comedy, but stupid shit? Packed with the stuff.

Strange that a segment that was totally comedy and done really well was the best segment of the show? the rest of the show just seemed drawn out.

Kudo's for all parties involved in creative for the wedding that was one of few really entertaining segments of TNA for me atleast. It wasn't awesome but Eric and ODB pulled it off shows they truly love doing the comedy stick.

are they the new Glamorella lol :)

I thought it was good. Better than an Anderson or Gunner match any day. Also thank you for bringing up Flair-Lethal verbal battles. Damn those were funny
