TNA Needs New Knockouts

am i the only one who thinks tna knockout divison is boring this days.
i was so excited to see taryn terrell but when she got pregnant it kinda made tna scared and they went to odb for a push. now i like odb! but odb is'nt excatly the type of woman that draws ratings in. tna has 4 active knockouts as of now.
and 2 hadnt wrestled in weeks.. which leads odb and gail to fight every week.
its time tna hires some new knockouts
if you where tna who would you hire?
my choices are
Isis The Giant
Angelina Love
Maria
and Melina

I'd love to see Maria Kanellis in TNA, but I don't know if that'd ever happen. It would be a very wise move by TNA though to bring in Maria and Mike Bennett though.

I think Madison Rayne will be back within the next few months. Ivelisse definitely should have been kept around. Letting her go was a TRAVESTY!

they do need more Knockouts.
Ivelisse should be signed.
I wouldn't mind seeing former Knockouts return, like Angelina and Sarita, but would they be interested in coming back?

personally if/when they bring in more Knockouts, I hope they keep with girls who fit with the current Knockouts, like being attractive.

The Knockout division is in major trouble. TNA is not likely to bring in any significant female wrestlers that would have an immediate impact. If they bring in young talent, they will need time to get over. Even if Mickie James re-signs, they only have ODB, Gail Kim, Velvet Sky, and Brooke Tessmacher (who for some reason does not wrestle anymore). Not too long ago, TNA had a pretty solid Knockout roster.

I agree completely with your assessment of the Knockouts current status (boring). It would be wise for TNA to try to sign some of the women that participated in their Knockouts Knockdown PPV, more specifically Mia Yim, Ivelisse Velez and Alissa Flash (who looks great now-a-days). They also should invest more into their development system down in OVW. Some women they should call up from there could include The Blossom Twins and Lei' D Tapa (only if she has made some improvements in her style).

As for my personal wish list of new Knockouts, I would like to see:

MsChif- I don't know if she just doesn't want to go to TNA or if they have never offered for her to come but IMO there is no reason why she has never been a full time Knockout.

Awesome Kong- I doubt this will happen, but it would be nice to see old Kong and not that slow, boring character that WWE was trying to create.

Melina- She is just one of my favorite female heels in the industry. Would be nice to see both her and a heel John Morrison in TNA.

Beth Phoenix- Another wishful thought. Beth would be a great fit in the Knockouts division and could add alot to the prestige of the Knockouts title.

Daffney- I don't see this happening due to the circumstances that caused her to leave, but i miss her.

Madison Rayne- I know she is only gone right now because she is pregnant but even after she has the baby, I don't expect to see her anytime soon. She still has to be a mother.

Christina Von Eerie- I just thing she looks cool. Also it was nice to see her in TNA back when Ink Inc. was around (Remember them?).

Maxine from NXT- If they can't get Melina then why not get someone that is virtually just like her (They even have the same last name, but as far as I know they're not related).

Angelina Love- A heel Angelina joined back together with a heel Velvet to reform The Beautiful People could make all these women's lives miserable.

It would be nice if they brought Madison back.
I really wish they hadn't gotten rid of Sarita and Rosita.
I would welcome Melina to the roster even though I doubt they could afford her. That's not a knock on TNA though. From what I understand she demands a ton of money.
Christina Von Erie is another one they should have kept.
They had such an awesome division and they let too many workers get away.
They could bring back Cheerleader Melissa too.
All of them can actually work pretty well in the ring and entertain. They're all nice to look at which doesn't hurt obviously.
They could bring in Portia Perez and Nicole Matthews who are both in their mid 20s.
Taylor Wilde is only 27. She could come back.
Candice LeRae is another young decent worker.

There are so many workers that could come in as long as TNA has the funds to bring them in. With the number of female workers out there they could build the division up to be awesome.

I would love to see TNA bring Taylor Wilde back. I thought she was easily one of the most talented female wrestlers that TNA had at the time but they really badly misused her and eventually let her go, which I still don't understand.

But I'm pretty sure she's completely retired now and is training to become a firefighter.

ODB is very over with the fans because of her unique look! But the dept of the division is limited. Melina and Sarita would be great additions.

When you said "new" Knockouts I thought you meant young women who were never seen before. I prefer that. I would drive to some random events across the country and scout for any diamonds in the rough.

Isis was considered to be in TNA in 2011 but plans fell through. I also heard that she was going to be Angle's partner in his feud with jarrett until they went with Chyna.
Angelina has said she is not returning to TNA because there is nothing else for her to do there. She can win the title 20 times but still won't be as big as Trish was. The ceiling for women in TNA is kind of low. It's pretty obvious to me that she's been in talks with WWE.
Maria said she turned down a contract.
& I remembered a report where TNA wasn't interested in Melina.

The problem with the current Knockouts Division is that Hulk Hogan and Eric Bishoff are still around. Now granted that when Bruce Pritchard worked for TNA he was the biggest opponent for the Knockouts. All three of these guys are against women wrestlers for some reason or another and until they're all gone I don't see this division flourishing like it did in the past.

It's funny to me how at one time the Knockouts were drawing good ratings for IMPACT but then they kept diminishing and now they as you said have 4 knockouts. Here's my take....

1. TNA needs to start a working relationship with Shimmer Women Athletes. Shimmer has some great talent that would be extremely beneficial to the Knockout Division. If this relationship would work then you would have talent such as Mischif, Lufisto, Cheerleader Melissa, Courtney Rush, Melanie Cruise etc.

2. I believe that they have a current working relationship with AAA out of Mexico. Try to utilize some of their talent as Lucha Libre would bring a new style to the Knockouts.

I don't believe that they should go and pursue former WWE Divas such as Melina as there would be way to much baggage that comes with her. They need to focus on what made them popular back in the day and worry about putting on great matches without the big name value that comes with being a former Diva

Let's see now:

With last night being Mickie James' final with the company, that leaves them with a whopping four knockouts:

ODB: The woman was just a referee, now two months later, she's the KO's champ, in a match that was originally meant to be for Bound For Glory. And it wasn't to be ODB in this position, it was to be Taryn Terrell, who is pregnant.

Gail Kim: She's the only Knockout who's consistantly been a wrestler for the past six months still left on the roster. Unfortunately, they've beaten her and ODB to death, as they've wrestled seemingly 231 times in the last two months.

Velvet Sky: She was on hiatus for a bit, now returns as a valet for real-life boyfriend Chris Sabin. With Sabin's heel-turn, it's not hard to see her returning to a version of her Beautiful People gimmick, and challenge ODB as a heel.

Brooke Tessmacher: She also took a hiatus, and returned as a heel valet for Bully Ray. She needs to be inserted into the division as a wrestler as well.

If I were TNA, who would I sign? The women they just had under their nose.

First off, I'd sign Mickie James back, giving her the money she wants. She was and should be the centerpiece of the division, as she's the best character, performer, and wrestler they've had in some time. Work it out with her, TNA.

Remember Gut Check? They had Ivelisse Velez competing for a spot, and she won her match. Yet they chose her opponent, the one who lost the match, whose name I can't recall. It's not as if Ivelisse has talent, personality, and experience in the business. Yet, TNA deemed her unworthy of a contract. Find her, sign her. In a division in desperate need of a strong face that can wrestle, with Taryn pregnant, Ivelisse should be a no-brainer. She's only 25, yet still a veteran of the Indy circuit.

If Madison Rayne wants to keep wrestling after having her child, they should re-sign her as well. She may want to be a stay-at-home mother, however, with her husband an active member of the military, and serving overseas.

If you want someone who recently worked a one-off for your company, Alissa Flash/Cheerleader Melissa/Raisha Saied would be a great choice. She was a fine heel as Flash and Saied, and she's a solid face or heel as Cheerleader Melissa. I don't know if she'ld want to come back to the company after being dropped so many times, but she's a darn good wrestler and capable of pulling off multiple characters convincingly.

Serena Deeb, who was Serena in the Straight Edge Society, just returned to Shimmer after a year and a half off from injury. I believe she also worked a one-off like Alissa Flash at the Knockouts PPV, and had a good showing. If she's healthy, she'ld be a fine signing, as she can play a face or villian very well.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To those who said Melina, just no. Despite being a strong wrestler and great character, WWE released her because she was a troublemaker behind the scenes. That's the last thing TNA needs right now.

If they want to rebuild their division, they need to go with girls that have been on their roster or right under their nose.

1. TNA needs to start a working relationship with Shimmer Women Athletes.

I believe ROH and Shimmer already have a working relationship, so starting one concurrently with Shimmer likely wouldn't work. It's not like they couldn't pluck women away, such as Serena Deeb and Cheerleader Melissa, but starting a working relationship, due to ROH's already established one, likely wouldn't work.

I think Ivellise rejected a contract from TNA knowing that she'd had to go to OVW first.

That was the deal in WWE. She wanted to be on RAW instead of NXT & she refused to cooperate which led to her release.

I've actually thought about this recently and here are the talents I would get and why...

Allison Danger - If for nothing else, she's TNA's Sarah Del Rey. She's got the experience you need that will let you train new women that come to your company. She's a veteran and that's always a plus.

MsChif - The fact that she's been one of the hottest talents for years and neither big name company has picked her up baffles me, it really does. This is the real scream queen here... someone Daffney fantasizes about being like one day. Plus, she's easily the most gifted in ring worker on the indies [male or female].

Payton Banks - She's been in TNA before as both Rain and Payton Banks, and really she's quite gifted. Plus she has a body that would give Brooke Tessmacher a run for her money. That's always a plus.

Emma - Yes she's signed to WWE development, and yes she's red hot [in popularity and looks], but if TNA could go out and snag her and utilize her properly then they'd be in serious business against WWE's divas division. WWE'd have no option but to start pushing divas so TNA won't get them.

Dave Prazak - No, he's not a woman... nor does he wrestle... but he is one of the most gifted bookers in wrestling history. He's responsible for finding CM Punk and making him a star in IWA-MS. He's the one who put Punk in the ring against the likes of Eddie & Mysterio. He also founded Shimmer, which means he knows a thing or two about women's wrestling.

And then, with all that, I'd call up the Blossoms, get Hemme off the mic and in some ring gear, and start getting some more tv time for these ladies. Maybe talk to MTV about adding a Knockouts reality show... who knows. But something has to be done or else the KOs will be extinct.

Not a bad thought, and she was truly coming along as a wrestler a few years ago, training with AJ Styles. Unfortunately, she sustained a career ending injury while doing so, which is why she no longer wrestles and transferred into first an interviewing role, then to ring announcer, as the girl has serious pipes on her.

I really liked what I was seeing from her when she was training with Styles, and it sucks her career ended on a fluke. She would be an excellent addition, if able, but unfortunately, she's not.

well with Mickie James set to leave the company, TNA could really with a few new knockouts to keep the division competitive and to add a fresh feel as well and I believe that the following knockouts would easily do that.

MIA YIM. I have been a fan of her work on the indy scene for a while now and has single handedly restored my faith in womans wrestling. would also have some awsome matches with ODB.

MSCHIF. Good in the ring and has a unique look which helps her to stand out from all the rest.

THE BLOSSOMS. While they still need to work on a few different things, they would more then help add some much needed depth to the division.

Isis The Giant

She was given a tryout in TNA a while back and was terrible. She also, allegedly, had a huge attitude problem and behaved as though she was this big star already. Aside from the fact that she has a freakish look, there's nothing she brings to the table. She's basically a female version of The Great Khali.

Angelina Love

It'd be cool to see Angelina in TNA again, though it's unlikely if the reports of TNA salary cuts are true. Reportedly, the reason she asked for her release in the first place was due to money and she turned down an offer to appear at the One Night Only Knockouts ppv earlier this year. So, it's just not gonna happen.

I haven't really seen Maria in a long time, as far as her in-ring work goes. Unless she's really improved, I've no real desire to see her in TNA. She got by for half a decade or so in WWE based on the fact that she's gorgeous rather than being able to wrestle well. She's the sort of woman that doesn't do much for the image of women's wrestling in my opinion. She'd provide great *********ory fodder for male TNA viewers, but that's about all.

When Melina left WWE, I remember reading a report stating that her fee for indy appearances was $3,000. If that's true and it's a fee that she's been able to collect regularly on the indy circuit, then I see no reason why she wouldn't want the same amount from TNA. Frankly, I don't see TNA ponying up nearly that amount for her as she simply isn't worth it. She's sexy, don't get me wrong on that, but so what? There's been plenty of sex appeal among the Knockouts for many a year now. She's been gone from WWE for over 2 years now, so there's no residual momentum that TNA could use from her exposure on WWE TV. She's also been said to have major attitude issues. I don't know if TNA has ever reached out to her or vice versa. It's very possible that TNA doesn't want her, Melina doesn't want to work for TNA or a bit of both.

I agree that some fresh blood could be nice for the Knockouts. Mickie James looks to be gone, Gail Kim is as dull as ever, Velvet Sky has become just another face in the crowd, Taryn Terrell has taken an extended leave for "personal reasons" so there's no telling when she'll be back and ODB's novelty has long since worn off for me, Brooke Tessmacher is Bully Ray's "old lady" and her role seems limited to acting ****ty while walking around half naked, though I don't expect that role to last all that long since it appears as though Aces & Eights is finally winding down.

There are plenty of options out there for TNA.

Maria Kanellis would be a good addition, she has name value and due to issues with the Bella's it doesnt seem likely that she will be heading to WWE any time soon. Plus, she could come to TNA in a joint signing with Mike Bennett, who would be a good addition to the TNA midcard.

Angelina Love is a former KO who could return, I have always been a big Angelina fan, although I know quite a few people don't like her "trashy" look- personally I think she looks hot and we all know she can wrestle. She did well as a member of the Beautiful People in her previous TNA run and would have alot to offer against the newer Knockouts if she came back.

Taylor Wilde is another who has been in TNA previously. She is hot, she can wrestle and I really don't know why she was released in the first place. I would definitely try and bring her back if she is available.

The Blossom Twins are already under some kind of contract in TNA. They are SO HOT, and being from the UK myself I would love to see them promoted to the main roster in the near future. They have things to work on but definitely have alot of potential. AND THEY ARE TWINS!

And finally...

Tara needs to come back!! I understand she was one of the highest paid Knockouts which is why she was released a few months ago, but with Mickie James leaving the company this frees up another big salary, so why not bring back one of the top women wrestlers in the world. Plus, I just want to see her back on my TV every week!

Maria already said in an interview that she turned down an offer from TNA, because to her, working for multiple promotions earns her more money.

Angelina is not returning to TNA no matter how many times she is begged to. There is not much else for her to accomplish there & it would be more beneficial to have a younger woman with potential on the roster instead of her. Not to mention her last few months in TNA were spent at home. TNA needs a policy that if they don't plan on using somebody often, they shouldn't be signed at all.

Taylor Wilde is another who has been in TNA previously. She is hot, she can wrestle and I really don't know why she was released in the first place. I would definitely try and bring her back if she is available.

She retired from wrestling, she won't return to America, & won't compete again unless she's booked at an event in England.

That is an unwise investment. Why spend a ton of money on a 42-year-old talent when you could possibly spend that much on 2 or 3 women in their mid 20s and much more in the tank? I know you miss seeing her but it didn't seem like she was going to be a staple either way. She has the Squared Circle to look after now.
