Let's see now:
With last night being Mickie James' final with the company, that leaves them with a whopping four knockouts:
ODB: The woman was just a referee, now two months later, she's the KO's champ, in a match that was originally meant to be for Bound For Glory. And it wasn't to be ODB in this position, it was to be
Taryn Terrell, who is pregnant.
Gail Kim: She's the only Knockout who's consistantly been a wrestler for the past six months still left on the roster. Unfortunately, they've beaten her and ODB to death, as they've wrestled seemingly 231 times in the last two months.
Velvet Sky: She was on hiatus for a bit, now returns as a valet for real-life boyfriend Chris Sabin. With Sabin's heel-turn, it's not hard to see her returning to a version of her Beautiful People gimmick, and challenge ODB as a heel.
Brooke Tessmacher: She also took a hiatus, and returned as a heel valet for Bully Ray. She needs to be inserted into the division as a wrestler as well.
If I were TNA, who would I sign? The women they
just had under their nose.
First off, I'd sign
Mickie James back, giving her the money she wants. She was and should be the centerpiece of the division, as she's the best character, performer, and wrestler they've had in some time. Work it out with her, TNA.
Remember Gut Check? They had
Ivelisse Velez competing for a spot, and she won her match. Yet they chose her opponent, the one who lost the match, whose name I can't recall. It's not as if Ivelisse has talent, personality, and experience in the business. Yet, TNA deemed her unworthy of a contract.
Find her, sign her. In a division in desperate need of a strong face that can wrestle, with Taryn pregnant, Ivelisse should be a no-brainer. She's only 25, yet still a veteran of the Indy circuit.
If
Madison Rayne wants to keep wrestling after having her child, they should re-sign her as well. She may want to be a stay-at-home mother, however, with her husband an active member of the military, and serving overseas.
If you want someone who recently worked a one-off for your company,
Alissa Flash/Cheerleader Melissa/Raisha Saied would be a great choice. She was a fine heel as Flash and Saied, and she's a solid face or heel as Cheerleader Melissa. I don't know if she'ld want to come back to the company after being dropped so many times, but she's a darn good wrestler and capable of pulling off multiple characters convincingly.
Serena Deeb, who was Serena in the Straight Edge Society, just returned to Shimmer after a year and a half off from injury. I believe she also worked a one-off like Alissa Flash at the Knockouts PPV, and had a good showing. If she's healthy, she'ld be a fine signing, as she can play a face or villian very well.

To those who said
Melina, just no. Despite being a strong wrestler and great character, WWE released her because she was a troublemaker behind the scenes. That's the last thing TNA needs right now.
If they want to rebuild their division, they need to go with girls that have been on their roster or right under their nose.
1. TNA needs to start a working relationship with Shimmer Women Athletes.
I believe ROH and Shimmer already have a working relationship, so starting one concurrently with Shimmer likely wouldn't work. It's not like they couldn't pluck women away, such as Serena Deeb and Cheerleader Melissa, but starting a working relationship, due to ROH's already established one, likely wouldn't work.
