I think he's good and he actully won best announcer in 1997(WCW),2002(TNA),2003(TNA),2004(TNA),and 2005(TNA).

I think that title would go to Joey Styles now. He was great in the real ECW, but in WWECW he's resorted to crap like using the phrase "A New Breed Unleashed" about 60 times over the course of a single episode.

Don't forget "This is what ECW is about" and "These are ECW rules" lol Styles sucks now, but all I need to hear is "Oh My God" and I'll be happy with him. I dunno, I don't think Tenay is that bad, there could be worse than Tenay.....Tony Shiavone(sp) or Michael Cole!

TNA has a great roster to work with. They just need to be careful who they are pushing. The older guys should obviously put the younger guys over and pass the torch so to speak.

There is tons of talent that (if utilized properly) could be a great benefit to TNA and its fans.

Well surely you are entitled to that opinion. But lets face it... during the course of a career you will find an apex where you are at the top of your game. Then from the top of that apex there is only one place to go and that would be down.

But before I accidently give you the wrong impression lets take a look at something.

There was a time where Hogan was wrestling and you could tell he lost his touch. The saying "You cant teach an old dog new tricks" comes to mind. He had gone as far as he was going to go but he was still out there wrestling.
You had people dismiss his deteriorating skills because they were marking out for an old nostalgic favorite.

Couldnt it be said thats the same thing here? People love the fact that you have Steiner, Sting etc Because they grew up watching those guys in WCW. Now they are happy they have a time to see them again as they resurfaced here.

But where does one draw the line? Didnt Luger show up? Goldberg gets a mention here and there (and i will say that he probably wont get picked up) and various others but why rehash guys with the intention of giving them a push and thus negelecting the younger guys. After all when these gentlemen call it quits who is going to be left in the company? The younger guys.

It makes more sense creatively for the pass the torch method to be utilized for some wrestlers. Not all.

Afterall that is what is happening with the Steiner/Joe angle. It will help establish Joes record of not only just beating guys but beating well established wrestlers.

Thats along the lines of what i was thinking.

And "Extreme Rules"! That's another one. The way he talks, you would think that the majority of people never watched ECW before. With the type of job that he is now, it's a good thing he has Taz(z) helping him out on commentary. However, I can't place all the blame on Styles - the fact that ECW is a mere shadow of its former self is not helping matters at all. They're not giving him many opportunities to say "OH - MY - GOD!!!!".

Well actually in the corperate world that is how it goes unfortunately. Thats why they have age discrimination because alot of gentlemen in their 50's and up that actually went after corperate jobs were turned down as the young 20 somethings are willing to work more hours and get paid substancially less to make a name for themselves in hopes of moving up.

Its not that i dont entirely agree with you. I am just looking at it from a business perspective. I could argue right along with you in favor of your position. There are mulitple perspectives to view it on.

I respect your opinion although i dont necessarly agree 100% but you do make a valid point.

Overall it depends on the ethics of the politics.

But if the old people retire than no one would be interested in the young ones and the verterans don't have to job to the rookies just have great fueds with them and use that to help build the rokkies carrer.

Just think about it if you are sting and know you only have a quater tank of gas left you can do two great things One get yourself the brass ring the NWA belt around your waist and TWO once you do that and you have a short drive PUT the new guy over the top, So when youa re sitting at home you can say to yourself IF i didnt do what i did NOBODY would even know who that kid is

Considering that Ring Of Honor and most other well known independant promotions have been around longer than TNA, you can't really say that.

TNA is just the first to take that "style" of wrestling to the masses.

I’m not a fan of any Announcer on TV. There is always that moment when I find myself yelling at the TV “I KNOW Nash said he had something planned tonight, You’ve been telling me that for the last 5 minutes you dick sucker!!! Talk about the Match for a change!” . It’s even more so annoying when I see a move and I really want to know the name of it, and West and Tenay are just going on about something completely off topic to the match.

I like ROH and other Indy announcers much better just for the fact that they can give a quick reminder from time to time without going completely away from the match.

... Don't be fooled by my dumb rant that no one is going to read... TNA is great. If you prefer Vinces 60 year old ass hanging out, divas that often act like unprofessional 17 year old porn stars with a crack habit, 40 Year old and his 36 year old pal running around pulling pranks on everyone, A rapping dork who apparently isn't aware that his clothes rhymes and moves went on of style in the 1990s along with Will Smith and One Man Gang, completely shitty wrestling, and like being treated like a moron and liking a product designed for little horny 12 year olds.... Then stick with WEEEEEE.
