Titus Coming Into His Own?

Well, according to this news report Titus O' Neil's tag team partner Darren Young is out with an injury (That explains where the Hell they've been for the past 2 weeks) now, we don't know what kind of injury that he has suffered, or how long that he is going to be out, but that doesn't mean that we can't speculate on where Titus O' Neil will go from here in terms of his career direction. I have a love/hate relationship with Titus. He's big, but still bearable in the ring (Which is something that can't be said for most of the WWE's big men) but is somewhat sloppy on the mic. Now I'm not going to say that he hasn't improved his mic skills from his NXT days to his tenure with the Primetime Players, but it still needs some work. Regardless of how well that he can talk, I still think that he should get a small singles push now that he is all on his own. I'm not talking about throwing him into the WWE or WHC scenes, because he still needs to do a lot of improving, but I think that the WWE should throw him into the US or IC title mix to see how well he can handle himself in singles action, and then make their decision about what they are going to do with him.

What would you want to see Titus O' Neil do now that Darren Young is out of the picture?

i've always liked him. young, not so much. i'm not sure he's read for singles competition yet. i don't watch superstars, but i assume he'll get a few matches to show what hes got. if bo dallas wins the title, titus could make a couple weeks of raw interesting.

Titus will really need to "flesh out" his in-ring arsenal and storytelling if he is going to get any type of legit single's push right now. He has a great look, and he moves well in the ring for a man his size, but I just can't help but think that by the ten minute mark of a significant single's match he would just be lost out there.

As far as from a personality standpoint, he had me sold at "washrag".

This could be a good thing. I do like PTP but I like Titus more. He's funny, a better talker, and great athlete. I think they should give him a chance in singles as I see great potential just until D Young is back. For the time being let's see how Titus can grow as a singles performer. Or as a part time color commentator. He's hilarious at the table.

I would like to see Titus be the guy to take the US title off of Cesaro. If the fans feed off that maybe he can feud for the WHC during the summer.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a Titus vs Ryback feud down the line though.

Personally Titus needs Young, wher as Young could go on his own and do ok.
I feel Titus is a great talker and a leader in the vignettes when he's with D.Young and they certainly gel well but for me Young has the better look and is better in ring.

Nothing stopping Titus having a singles career tho, his look is just too weird for me to get onboard, and that's not a "black" thing

I like Titus and I am glad he has got rid of Darren and is breaking out on his own, he is a big guy and could potentially go a long way in the business.

Never liked Young. Titus can get over as face or heel, he's very good on the mic and he's a big guy. It always felt to me that Young's just...there - not contributing much.

I don't like to crap on people's opinions but I don't understand where you're coming from. Daren Young is not the better performer in the ring, doesn't add much to the PTP (MVP-esque) gimmick, and can barely string together an ad-libbed or rehearsed sentence on the mic without flubbing. Don't get me wrong, he's not completely useless. Oh no! I like when he incessantly uses his afro-pick.

My major issue with Young is his over-acted facial expressions and reactions when trying to sell in the ring. His offense isn't much better either. His hits are too noticeably misses and his finisher is often botched. There was no doubt in my mind that Titus was the star of the team after the second match I saw of them together. Ever since, I have been hoping against hope that Young would greatly improve so that the team wouldn't get split up. But now that he's injured, I don't know if I should foolishly support him still.

Titus makes the PTP gimmick what it is, he's loud, brash, obnoxious, funny, a decent ad-libber, comfortable enough on the mic, and has a terrific build. The douchey "URUH URUH URUH" Q-dawg bark thing he does, fits perfectly within their gimmick. I don't think it takes a wrestling genius to see why this guy is the PrimeTime Players. I'll be happy to see him take a shot as a singles competitor but the roster is far too full now. I'd like to see him find success in revamping the excitement of tag-team matches for 2 years or so first.
