Thoughts on HBK's return....if it happens

Starship Pain Co-Pilot:crashes alot
Been wanting to make this thread for a while but my internet has been down, pretty simple, what do you want to happen with HBK's return, or do you think hes coming back

personally i think he is to put over some guys, but not in the ring, as a manager

My idea is for him to manage Morrison, give Morrison a person who can speak, also it would solve the problem of Morrison's finisher, quite simply give him the superkick(which he executes beautifully) and your done. This would give Morrison an instant push to the top and make him legitimate.

But enough of my thoughts, yours?

Well if he does return it won be for some time (4-5 years) as all reports seem to say he is enjoying his retirement and by that time he will be 50ish so i doubt he will be wrestling, however i could see him as a manager or a GM, I think the situation you proposed with Morrison sounds perfect however that would need to happen in the near future for it to be succesful.

Ya If he does come back its not going to be for wrestling. HBK left on his terms and he left with style, with his head held high. He did everything to his fullest in the WWE. He has no need to return to the ring as it has been said that he is happy with his retirement and he is at peace. I think bringing in bret hart to berry the hatchet is one of the last things hbk really wanted to do and give him self peace also. HBK is a very classy guy to go out the way he did and I respect him more then a lot of other people.
If he does come back it would be only for a short term and to help push someone younger or like above said, a gm type role. But I really don't see him coming back to make a big impact in the wrestling world.

Everything I've heard indicates he's done not only in the ring, but outside of it as well. Like somebody else said, burrying the hatchet with Bret Hart was probably the thing that really made him content and happy with what he accomplished in wrestling, and let him step away for good. I don't think we'll ever see him have a full time role, wrestling or otherwise, on TV again.

I could see him making a one time appearance here or there, as a guest host or on a special episode of Raw - anniversary shows, milestone episodes (the 1000th episode is 2 years away), etc - but not as a wrestler.

I love the storyline proposed for him and Morrison, though. It'd be awesome to have HBK pass the torch by giving somebody his finisher.

I doubt he'll ever wrestle again or come back in any long term on air role. I'm sure he'll make an appearance here and there, but nothing permanent. I think he will always be part of WWE in some capacity probably as an ambassador or maybe in the creative department.

I can't believe I'm saying it, but honestly I really don't want him to come back and wrestle. The absolute limit of that would be a one-time thing that legends sometimes do, but it would have to be really special. Not only do I feel this way because he left so perfectly, but because with the way WWE is right now, there is nothing for him to do that would mean anything. We have midcard world champions and mainevent feuds without emotion. I never want to see HBK come back in the middle of all of that. Even beyond that, though, as J.R. posted in a recent blog, it seems like Shawn is one of the biggest stars in a long time to have retired and STAYED retired. That in itself is special.

What I think is funny are all these reports that Michaels is enjoying retirement...The guy always took 4 months off after WM and would return at Summerslam. He always enjoyed that time off as well. All I know is I haven't followed nor cared to keep watching WWE since Michaels retired and would like to see him come back, even in a one-time thing or as a mouth piece.

JR wrote recently that HBK is so involved with church and family, and is financially secure, that he may be one of the few pro wrestlers to stay retired. As a huge fan I want him to make an appearance down the line, but I'd bet money he's done in the ring.

If Hbk did do one last match I would go with HHH's retirement match, just cause imo HBK is the only guy that should do it.

Personally him coming back as GM or Morrison's manager wouldn't be that bad of an idea, especially with like being GM alot of those things are backstage apperences so he wouldn't have to be on the road alot, which is something he hated.

If he comes back, I hope its in WWE, which im 99% sure it will be. HBK belongs no were else

I think what he said in his farewell address was true, however. He will most likely stay away from WWE if possible

I would love to see him face HHH in his retirement match, but it probably won't happen. If it does happen, I hope its soon(see my next point for the reason why).HHH might end up facing Orton or maybe even Vince for that.

I'm going to get hate for saying this, but I hope HBK doesn't wrestle anytime in the distant future(like the after the next 1-2 years). It would just be a disgrace to the HBK we all love.

I honestly don't see Shawn returning at all. He was barely even wrestling to begin with, and I was surprised he didn't retire earlier. He clearly was enjoying his time off with all those breaks he took.

HBK is the greatest of all time. The perfect blend of mic/in ring skills.
The ability of Flair to cut a promo, and the in-ring ability of hart.
He left with grace. He did not have the send off he deserved, IE flair.
But, he left on his own terms. A warrior and true icon of the sport.
We love you Shawn, and I hope you never come back.
You are bigger than wwe.

He isn't coming back. Shawn Michaels had one of the greatest departures a wrestler could ask for. Also, I think Shawn, watching Ric Flair come back and basically kick dirt on his own retirement angle, doesn't want any part of that. He went out in the Main Event of Wrestlemania..not a much bigger way to do so. While no one can say with 100% certainty that Shawn is done, I'm sitting at around 99.9998%.

personally i think he is to put over some guys, but not in the ring, as a manager

Shawn isn't a manager. Also, he has no on-screen connection to any guy in WWE outside of HHH. Maybe they could make a Daniel Bryan connection, but A. Danielson is gone, B. ...HBK isn't a manager.

My idea is for him to manage Morrison, give Morrison a person who can speak, also it would solve the problem of Morrison's finisher, quite simply give him the superkick(which he executes beautifully) and your done. This would give Morrison an instant push to the top and make him legitimate.?

Shawn has put over a lot of people in his career. The way his career ended is more important than making sure John "No One Cares" Morrison can pull of the Super Kick. Also, Shawn was never a "great" mouthpiece. During DX (the REAL DX) he was, but not as a face.

Morrison is already legit. The guy is a mid-high card wrestler, and doesn't really need the HBK rub. I really don't think the WWE see's John Morrison as the next HBK as so many IWC fans do. He's good, but he's nowhere near as over as Shawn was (post-Rockers). I just don't think HBK/Morrison makes any sense, at all.

HBK will most certainly be back...when he gets inducted into the Hall of Fame, other than that I'm not sure. Most wrestlers seem to start missing the business and come back, but Shawn seems to like the time he is spending with his family. He went out on his own terms, on top of the wrestling world with another 5 star match with Undertaker. As much as I love HBK, I wouldn't want to see him come back to job to guys like Jay Lethal or the likes.
If he was to come back as a manager, which I doubt, why would he even manage Morrison? that doesn't make much since. The only person I could see him managing would be Bryan Danielson, because he trained him at the Texas Wrestling School during his first retirement.
The most realistic way that he would come back would be as GM. He could work as a GM, that would be a good role for him, it's actually something he has done before in 98-99 when his back was severly injured.

Id like to see Shawn return, for a one or two time appearance, but on SMACKDOWN! Lets say 'Taker returns to exact revenge on his attacker. Well maybe the attacker (whoever it may be) gets the upper hand and goes to "destory" 'Taker in a casket or Buried Alive match, and Shawn comes out to superkick that person to help 'Taker. and maybe one more match even where he teams with 'Taker. This could give Smackdown a rub, as well as putting a finisher on the storyline. something of that nature. who knows

The only situation He'd consider is if Undertaker asked him to be his retirement match opponent at WM. Nothing else, no managing, announcing,or gm-ing. I love him but he's done with wrestling and the road.

For awhile I thought that after Bret Harts positive experience at this years WM, Bret might pitch the idea to have one more official match with HBK at next years Mania. I think we all saw how much Bret loved being in the WWE again as well as being in front of the fans again it'd be great to see him wrestle again rather than give Vince a 10 minute beating as a sendoff. With HBK it would be great to see him wrestle the same WM as his HOF induction.

Well it won't happen. Shawn Michaels is enjoying retirement right now. And who can truly blame him? He gave 26 years of his life to the business. Just because a lot of the 70's 80's guys can't stay away doesn't mean Shawn can't. Right?

Shawn worked in an era where the environment for wrestlers were so much better. He pretty much had a guaranteed money contract. As opposed to a guy like Flair who I believe had to work to earn his keep. At least a lot of wrestlers had to wrestle to earn their keep.

So I don't see Shawn returning. But I guess I'll contribute anyway.

Shawn returning probably wouldn't be around The Undertaker. It wouldn't make sense. Because it has already been done. The only, and I mean the only thing I truly believe could make Shawn return is - Triple H.

The two best friends. Triple H as a heel is the one thing that could make Shawn return. Shawn kayfabe returned because of Triple H back in 2002 after all. So I truly believe he is he only thing that can bring back Shawn.

Undertaker has been done to death already between the two. WWE has capitalized on what there is left for that feud. So there's no need to "milk the cow" anymore on that feud.

I honestly have a feeling that Shawn has one more run left in him, and that he will be back, Im sure he wont come back and fight for years and years, as he couldnt do that, but I honestly do feel that we will see HBK come back for one more run, and to end that run, he will go into the Hall of Fame... Now I may be wrong, and if I am its ok, but I do see him coming back.. And giving us one last run for good... Maybe the same length it was this past time, or a little longer.. We will just have to wait and see..

Its funny how Shawn leaves, and then the wrestlng world calls for him to come back when things get stale... just proof that Shawn is the Icon, The Show Stopper, and the Main event. Kudos to HBK, gone but never forgotten.

I don't think he will ever wrestle again, TBH, I don't think he'll ever step foot in a ring for anything!

However, as a manager would be the more suitable option, he could do well with JoMo just like the OP said...But it won't be happening anytime soon, as he is enjoying his retirement..
