Orton being a face is really no different than WWE refusing to turn John Cena heel because the fans boo him, at least in a sense. You don't have to subscribe to the specific guidelines of being a face or heel to be one, and this is what I was bringing up in another thread about Sheamus (how he ran from Nexus). Blur the lines a little, switch up the characters, do something original.
Orton as a face works because it's original. I honestly hope they keep him like this for a while, it's seriously a ton of fun to know you can cheer for him even though he's really the same guy he was 6 months ago in the ring.
