Anyway this is my thrid installment of "Thier Wretlemania moments" and the next topic is..............

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnston

Arguably the greatest man to ever speak on the mic, the rock is arguably one of the most loved superstars of all time, and has graced us at the grandest stage of em' all, wretlsemania....

So my questions to you are..........

1) Wrestlemania 18. The Rock & Hollywood Hogan standing face to face in the middle of the ring, the crowd chanting Hogan's name, even though he was the clear heel. The entire match was great, but that moment gave me goose bumps.

2) I don't really remember any memorable entrances. I always though his entrances & music were kind of generic, to be honest.

3) The popular answer will likely be 17 vs Austin, & I can't really argue with that answer-it was a good match. But for pure entertainment value, I'm going with 18 vs Hogan. If you want great wrestling, that match isn't for you. But if you want two great entertainers telling a great story, you can't get much better. And Rock kind of embraced that fact that the crowd was with Hogan, pulling a couple of heel moves. Hogan hit the Rock bottom & Hulked up, Rock hit 3 Rock bottoms I think, & a People's Elbow. Really fun match.

4) I'll go with the build up to 17, with McMahon making Austin's wife The Rock's manager. But you could go with the Hogan build up as well, with Hogan crashing into an ambulance carrying The Rock. I'll go with 17 though.

Once again going to go with mania 19 against stone cold, finally the rock beat the rattlesnake but it took him 3 rock bottoms to do it

Definitely the match with hogan at mania 18

I'm going all WM18 and Wm19 here.

1. I think Rock's greatest moment was beating Austin at WM19. After two mania losses to the Rattlesnake, the Brahma Bull finally got the one win that had always alluded him. The best part was when he pushed Hebner away after the three count and whispered something to Austin as the two had shared a lot of special moments together.

2. I'm also picking WM19 for Rock's greatest entrance. It may not seem like much but it's actually one of my favorite entrances ever. The long titan tron video over LA just gave the feeling that something big was on the way. When we finally heard the whisper "is cooking" and The Rock's music played loudly through Safeco Field the crowd came alive. The Rock looked larger than life.

3. I'll go with the match against Hogan at WM18 as Rock's greatest. The actual hold for hold action may not have been that great but when you factor in everything, especially the crowd, it truly was a classic.

4. WM18 also gets my vote for greatest build. Icon vs. Icon. "How would you like to headline one more WrestleMania with The Rock?" I'll never forget it. The ambulance stuff was too over the top, but the promo where Rock challenged Hogan alone is enough for me to vote WM18 as Rock's best hyped mania match.

Greatest Moment

The stardown with Hollywood Hogan at WM 18, just simply an iconic image between two of the all time greats. A truly magical moment which meant so much to wrestling fans as we thought it was one we would never see.

Greatest Match

WM 17 against Austin. The greatest WM of them all, both were in their absolute prime and this match was made even greater with the heel turn of Austin to side with his long term rival Vince McMahon at the end of the match, brilliant.

Greatest Entrance

Quite hard to decide as The Rock didnt really have a Shawn Michaels zip-rope or John Cena car style entrance. I quite liked his WM19 entrance with the new entrance video over LA and the different music, that was pretty cool.

Greatest build-up

As much as I loved the feuds with Austin, and especially the one running up to their final match at WM19 with theit history, I dont think you can look past the Icon v Icon feud with Hollywood Hulk Hogan at WM18. It was perfectly done, with Rock challenging Hogan to a match to the delight of the fans who never thought they would get to see these two locking up. It was the icons from two different periods in wrestling meeting for the very first time, and the fans didnt know who to cheer for, eventually settling on Hogan even though he was meant to be the heel.

You dont get moments as big as this very often in wrestling, and this was very special indeed

3) The greatest Wrestlemania match?

Rock vs Austin WM X7. Both of them were at the top, and both of them was in his prime, not to mention it was for the WWF title. One more thing, it was the end of the greatest era of wrestling history.


4) Greatest Wrestlemania build up?

Wow that's a tough one, it's between "Icon vs Icon"(Hogan vs Rock) and "Houston we got a problem"(rock vs austin WM X7). Well, I'll go with Rock-Hogan X8.

1: The greatest Mania moment for the Rock? While I know a lot of people will say the stare-down from WrestleMania 18, I personally love the Rock's modified People's Elbow on Ric Flair so that it included the strut at WrestleMania XX. That really represented the comedy element of the Rock so well and I love that moment.

2: Entrance is a little harder than the others as he never really had a major entrance at a Mania but it's hard to argue against that Hollywood entrance he had. The long intro with the shots of L.A. before walking down the incredibly long ramp they had that year made you feel that something big was about to happen.

3: My favourite match of the Rock's at a Mania would be vs. Steve Austin at WrestleMania XIX. While a lot of people will claim it's not as good as their match at 17, this match felt incredibly epic. Epic is a word that is used far to much, but deep down you knew that this was the last time these two would clash and they left it all in the ring.

4: I'll say WrestleMania 17. The video package just before the match sums it up so perfectly with the song My Way by Limp Bizkit. This was a build-up that Austin claimed really helped him get back into his groove following the near year off he had. The Rock got to showcase both his serious side and humorous sides and it was arguably the biggest Mania main event ever.

#1) Greatest WreslteMania moment?
Beating Austin at WM 19. After losing two Manias to Austin, he finally pulled it off and caps off his legacy as the next night he declared that "he did it all" which he did. Also I loved when Rock pushed the ref & he talked to Austin while he lay on the mat, just showed how much respect he had for Austin by breaking kayfabe in front of the whole world.

#2) Greatest Wresltemania Entrance?
I'll go with his Wrestlemania 15 entrance. He was just cool, calm & cocky when he was walking down to the ring slowly, looking left & right at the crowd, stopping to raise the eyebrow and then when he got up on the turnbuckle, raising the WWF belt in the air as the WM 15 sign is in the background even though he raises the WWF belt on the turnbuckle all the time but that was truly a image that stands alone.

#3) The Greatest WrestleMania match?
Vs. Austin at WM X7. Wasn't just about all the history & emotions behind this match, it was the wrestling that was good too. These two went hardcore & applied submissions to each other even bringing back some classic WM match enders (Piper vs. Bret, Bret vs. Austin). Never have we seen Rock & Austin go hardcore not to forgot, one of the best endings in Mania history.

#4) Greatest WrestleMaina hype/build up?
Defintely vs. Austin at WM X7. The promos these two delivered especially in the sitdown interview with JR was epic. McMahon making Debra, Rock's manager just made the feud more intense & heated especally when Debra got knocked out and Austin stunned him for it. Both men using each others finishers on each other especially on the episode of Raw where the night began with Austin hitting the Rock Bottom on Rock and at the end of the night, Rock hitting the Stunner on Austin, was awesome. Hell even when they were drinking beer with each other and Austin smashed his can against Rock's beer can hard making all the beer spill out & Rock doing the same back was intense.

The Rock:

1. Greatest WrestleMania moment? XVIII, the stare down between him and Hogan. I can picture this on 'Mania highlight reels for years to come.

2. Greatest WrestleMania Entrance? I don't really recall one of The Rock's entrances standing out over another so I'll go with WrestleMania XVIII as the crowd was pretty electrified throughout that whole match.

3. The Greatest WrestleMania match? I think if I were to pick The Rock's shining moment it would certainly have to be his victory of Stone Cold at WrestleMania XIX. He finally beat Stone Cold to end the feud and ultimately end Austin's in-ring career.

4. Greatest WrestleMania hype/build up? Again, I am going with Wrestlemania XVIII. This match was generations in the making. Two of the most charismatic superstars in wrestling history finally colliding. I think that speaks for itself.

#1) Greatest WreslteMania moment?
The staredown with Hogan, both men looking at each other and then the crowd! Hogan telling The Rock he has the crowd in the palm of his hand...

#2) Greatest Wresltemania Entrance?
XIX, it was his hollywood entrance and it was good for a change..

#3) The Greatest WrestleMania match?
Hmmm..His good mania matches were from X-Seven, X8 and XIX, I'll go with X-Seven..

#4) Greatest WrestleMaina hype/build up?

Just have to say that I've been watching "The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment" for the better part of my day off today. When I came to 2001, I was left wondering, who was the face and who was the heel going into Wrestlemania XVII? For some reason I just couldn't remember the build up, so I YouTubed it. This is what I found:

Therefore I am changing my answer from before, from Hogan/Rock to Austin/Rock 'Mania XVII. Now, I certainly wouldn't say this was their best 'Mania match but this video brought the intensity of the build up rushing back. What was cool about this was these were just two regular guys who hated each other and all that mattered was the title.
