They SUCK

I think some people disliked him before that angle. After it almost everyone hated him for whatever reason. What is so bad about the guy in a non-main event role?

The gimmick. He plays an incompetent idiot for 2 years when he's supposed to be a monster. Then afterwards he's just a big creepy guy. How was anybody able to screw it up?

Same way it was "screwed up" for Giant, Kane and others and the same way it will be for Kharma. No one stays a true monster for long in modern wrestling and as soon as it changes it is never quite the same and you can never go all the way back.

What is there to hate about "big creepy guy" when he isn't main eventing? He is big and creepy and he can work a pretty decent match for his size in an era where no one has size and he can cut a decent promo. Why would I hate someone like that?

Of course, Shattered takes it back to well, you guys weren't crying when WWE did it! (followed by him loudly stomping up the stairs, like he'd been sent to his room without dinner). Shocking.

What's shitty about Abyss in a non-main event role? I still see him on television each week, that's what.

Yeah, he does seem to not smell.

Come on, people! You're telling me when you look at Abyss you think of roses, or fresh air? I think open ass.

Well, I'm just telling it like it is when I saw him. Probably the consistent blood loss or the fact that he's punctured himself with so many thumb tacks that he's fucked up most of his pores.

Abyssamania was shit and his character hasn't been used right in a long time but Abyss still puts on decent to solid matches every time he wrestles imo. His match with Crimson was pretty good and he always has a great match with RVD, A.J., and Daniels.

That still doesn't make up for him being a shit character.

I don't get how anyone can say The Miz sucks then say Anderson is good/solid/great/whatever. They are pretty much the same character, except I would say Miz is better in pretty much every aspect.

Anderson's been annoying me for the past six months (so has Miz) so yeah you're right

Hmm. One WCW example, one WWF example, we are discussing a TNA example and I hypothesized about a probable WWE example. It is almost like I was discussing wrestling in general and *shocking* nick doesn't get it. I did not even say it was a good thing that monsters tend to go that route. I just said it was a stupid reason to hate someone. If that was the case then I would have to hate CM Punk because he was used better in the past.

How very specific of you. And we still have zero answers to why do you hate Abyss that are not "just because" or I liked him better in 2005.

Tell that to Dr. Issac Yankem DDS.

Name one thing that Miz is obviously better at that doesn't involve sucking Vince's dick.

His promo skills are much better and I'd take Miz over Anderson in the ring. Anderson always looks off in the ring to me, and you can call it being "injury prone" but he's doing something wrong if he is always getting hurt. Getting hurt once or twice can be on the other guy, but when you are hurt as consistently as he it, you are doing something wrong.

Anderson's promos consist of little more than yelling and saying "asshole" a lot. There is little to no substance or creativity. Miz comes up with creative promos and has me captivated almost every time he talks.

How "consistently" has he been hurt recently? In the last two years his only injury has been something that was obviously entirely Jeff Hardy's fault. An injury that supposedly the Miz suffered as well in that time frame. The "but he gets injured" defense is a cop out at this point. If you want to talk about in-ring ability talk about in-ring ability. You seem content to ignore every promo Anderson has ever done until recently in the second part of your response, so why not treat the injury talk the same way? Anderson is miles ahead of Miz in in-ring psychology. When has Miz ever had a match close to what Anderson did with Angle last year?

The Miz's greatest asset is his consistency, although it really isn't that hard to be consistently average. Personally I find the Miz to be remarkably uncreative. Practically everything he does is heel 101 and his one "creative" promo ever he chose to recycle when he cut his first promo as champion. If you are that creative you bring something a little different to the table there. Anderson says asshole a lot recently, yes. How is this so strikingly different than the "awesome" Miz has been saying for years? Part of the reason Anderson says it so much is because it is pretty clear it is selling. His word was born out of a entirely unique promo that whipped the crowd into a frenzy and basically stole the show. When has Miz created something like that? He mostly uses cheap heat. If you go back before the initial asshole promo Anderson absolutely murders Miz in creativity.

Fine, take out the injuries. He still looks awkward in the ring half the time and his selling is questionable at best. And we both know that Angle carried that match. I'm pretty sure you or me could walk in and have a 3 star match with Kurt Angle.

Last time I checked, cheap heat is still heat. Miz is a master at getting heat and his promos are very strong. He does have the catch phrase, but he doesn't need to use it every sentence like Anderson does with "asshole." I am using that example a lot, but trust me, his mic skills have always been horribly overrated. Also, forgive me for not thinking that an internet darling whipping a smarky crowd into a frenzy by using a promo based around the word "asshole" is an incredible achievement.

A match that is close to 5 stars is never the result of only one person. To suggest such a thing is a cop out of epic proportions. Miz doesn't look the ever so vague "awkward" in the ring half the time? How is his selling? These comments are meaningless without context or even an example.

Opinions on ring work are more subjective than people realize. If literally the only thing you care about is the moves then they are probably fairly equivalent but even then I would give a slight edge to Anderson. IMO when you start bringing in the other aspects of telling a story in a match Miz starts falling further behind. Your "awkward" comments may be in reference to Anderson working a slightly different style than some. Something that isn't as "smooth" as a RAW match but that many (including the Undertaker) actually enjoy for its "realness."

Cheap heat is still heat, and I have no issue with it until you want me to believe that cheap heat is creative. Cheap heat is the antithesis of creative. Anderson does not use asshole every sentence. More often than not he only says it once in a promo. Pardon me if I do not "trust you" to pick my opinions, especially when you believe Miz is a captivating master of getting heat (possibly the biggest oversell since summerslam 05). You are going to have to do better than that. The small crowd effect is what it is. The promo was still unique and creative and it pretty clearly spawned some merchandise that likely did pretty well by company standards.

Maybe you prefer the simplistic style the Miz works. That is fine. Just drop this all-around better nonsense and those ridiculously slanted attempts at proving this fallacy.

And people are forced to tell you, over and over and over again, dropping down is not the reason they hate Abyss. You always bring other wrestlers into the mix, and I don't understand why. We're talking about Abyss.

If that was the case then I would have to hate CM Punk because he was used better in the past.

:banghead: No one hates Abyss because he dropped from the main event scene. They hate him because they don't like what he does, as a professional wrestler.

I didn't feel like repeating myself, something I usually have to do 10 times per discussion when you're involved. I gave solid answers as to why I don't care for Abyss. If you choose not to accept those reasons, that's your problem.

Miz just main evented Wrestlemania in front of 70,000 people, Anderson is wrestling in front of less than a thousand people who didn't pay a dime to watch him wrestle. Pretty clear who the superior wrestler is. That's not even getting into the fact that Miz blows him away on the mic and in the ring.

Worst attempt at "proving" your opinion ever?

Not really an opinion, it's a fact. Professional wrestling is a job, and Miz is clearly much higher on the totem pole of that career path than Anderson has now or ever been. Miz sells more tickets, receives a higher compensation for it, and is trusted to main event the largest show in the wrestling industry. By all criteria to judge a professional wrestler, Miz ranks higher currently. You might as well be arguing that Matt Morgan is better than John Cena, same difference. And again, none of that is even taking into consideration their in-ring and promo skills.
