They should've just gave ECW a second hour..

...Instead of making the "Superstars" show. ECW would be relevant again if they gave them an extra hour and stacked the roster a little more. The current ECW doesnt have enough time time even let the wrestlers cut promo's to get theirself over with the crowd. So an extra hour tacked on would really do a lot of good. They could add guys like Brian Kendrick, Umaga, Mr. Kennedy, and Santino Marella to the roster to add depth, then add Cryme Tyme or the Edge heads and they'd have a very legit young roster of talent.

Anyone else like that idea?

That could work actually. I'm going to watch about 3 weeks of Superstars before it starts to suck. Likely there's going to be one or two big names on there for the first few shows before it breaks down into Ziggler vs. R-Truth every week. What I'd like Superstars to be is a show of exclusives. Take Santino's Casa, Word Up and The Dirt Sheet etc. and put them on Superstars. Throw in some original promos also. Something like, "After his team was defeated on Monday, Big Show had this to say." It's something different and would at least be original content.

I'm not sold on making it another hour of ECW though. The show does its job fairly well. It's not meant to be an equal and it's not treated as one.

ECW actually needs a second hour but that wont happen due to the wwe not actually treating ECW as the brand it should be, by far ECW has better matches and quality wrestling, but vince keeps taking the best parts of it and strips it down and it still manages to survive by in regards to superstars there is no point for the show unless they want to make a wwe heat type thing out of it which i doubt, IMO i think that WWE is doing this purley as a promotional vehicle for their ppvs dvds and Films division, but the wwe wants more money so either way they will keep dishing product as long as the channels keep asking for it

its not that actually sly, Sci has rebranded itself to attract more shows like ECW that allow diversity and bring in other viewers who are not nerds looking for some soft core porn with vampires or aliens, ECW was always a no no to sci fi but now because of it the channel has managed to increase its rating potential and is looking in the direction of new non science fiction material

Seriously, quit speaking stupid. The WWE just can't dictate how many hours of programming they get on any TV station they want, they have to work out contract deals with those stations, and both sides have to agree.


So simply saying that the WWE should have added to ECW instead of creating a new show is ridiculous, because the new show is on a completely separate family of tv stations. WGN is owned by Tribune Broadcasting, and Sci-Fi is owned by NBC Universal. There is ZERO correlation between WWE getting an hour on WGN, and getting an hour on ECW.

Why doesnt it have any purpose, you stated that the network cant give ECW a second hour when in fact it can, ECW was the highest rated show for 25 straight weeks, secondly it is the sole reason why scify is attempting to attract a bigger demographic rather then science fiction nerds looking to see which alien kirk is gonna get in the sack with next, its shown that the channel can cross promote itself to a wider audience as ECW has found itself to be very popular, if WWE wanted to add an extra hour i dont see why the head of programming would turn it down, do the research and take a look at what ecw has actually done for the channel sly before name calling
