shut. up. heratic!!!! there is nothign wrong with the six sides... its wonderfull in all its uniqueness you will be doomed for tyour blasphamy

First of all learn how to spell, it hurts my skull. I believe you are just talking out your ass. Both rings are equally good and represent the companies. I really dont see the business crashing or rising based soley on the ring shape.

I hate the six sided ring because in area it is a lot smaller han most square rings that I've seen.

Also I notice the wrestlers have to adjust their movents a lot to "bounce" of the ropes in a straight line.

The six sided ring does nothing for TNA anymore, it's just a stupid gimmick that ads nothing to the product.

i like the 6 sided ring, its what seperates TNa from wwe and also Tna has much faster matches which is better then most of the wwe's matches

Personally I don't really like the 6 sided ring. While some people see it as new and innovative, I see it as breaking away from tradition. While not always a bad thing, in this case it is. The 6 sided ring doesn't add much to the matches. X-Division stars can use the extra ropes to do more diving moves, but that's really about it. The 4 sided ring is easier to wrestle in, bottom line. I think if TNA went back to the 4 sided ring that they would put on better matches. New superstars wouldn't have to get used to the odd shaped ring, and the wrestlers would have more room to do moves.

I find the six-sided ring more of a distraction. I think it should be used in special matches or PPV matches like the cage match or hell in a cell is used. It is great for the right match with the right wrestlers (X division), but looks out of place with traditional old style wrestlers and one on one matches. Seeing Sting in a six-sided ring just doesn't look right.

At first I hated the 6 sides. It looks too small. But I've warmed up to it, and the wrestlers have gotten use to it now aswell. I don't think it'd be the same without it now.

WWE should make there new slogan - "WE CUT NO CORNERS"... a rip on TNA for 'cutting' corners off a 4 sided ring to make it 6 sides.

A triangular ring would suck, you'd have to make it massive for wrestlers to be able to do anything in it. As for the six-sided ring, I don't see anything wrong with it. It makes cage matches (or "six sides of steel") more interesting and it makes stuff like the Ultimate X possible. Plus, it gives TNA an edge and makes it different from other promotions. You can't buy publicity like that.

"Whoa, I've never seen a two-sided ring before"- Kevin Nash, watching "Madagascan wrestling".

Now THAT would be awesome!

I like it. It gives TNA character. They'd be JUST another wrestling promotion if they tried to follow the age-old formula. I really don't see any downsides to it. It also showcases the athletic ability of these competitors, many of whom also compete in a 4-sided ring, to adapt to a different environment. It is different and is fresh compared to the ordinary.

HEy Id like to see a promotion that is completely different and have a five sided ring Halfway between Traditional and the TNA version. It would take out the corner problem that has been mentioned and it would be innovative as anything.

i think the 6 sided rig has to be the most innovative when you look at it people think what can be done with that ring compared to what can be done with the 4 sided ring and start to compare

To be honest, I don't think it makes any significant difference. It's just a hook. For example, selling somebody TNA by saying they have a six-sided ring is a lot easier than trying to sell TNA by describing the X Division or any other of its unique characteristics ("There are these guys yea, and they do flips", would you buy into that?). People tune into see it even though it provides no real difference.

I like the 6 sides, it gives wrestlers extra impact points.. the ring is different than any other wrestling promotion on tv and that's why i like it the most. Though it wouldn't hurt if they would change the ropes to black or blue and take the ugly t n a letters off the turnbuckles.. their graphics suck, but the idea of the 6 sided ring is cool in my opinion.

Hey I know howabout an 18 sided ring! Or even a upsidown pyramid ring! RaaaWWWWW!

A 4 sided ring or nevermind i'm sorry a ring serves one purpose, to kept the wrestlers from falling out of the ring while there wrestling. That's the only reason for a ring. What kind of an idiot would try to make something as dumb and so insignificant as a ring appear cool. Who cares. I swear whoever came up with the six sided ring was probably high at the time. It's a weak attempt to look different and it just looks stupid.

Actually, the TNA ring caters to the X-divisioners because of increased rope tension due to less length in the cable. This is why their lightweights have an easier time doing springboard offense than someone in one of the WWE's shitty rings where the ropes are way too loose. This is why the majority of WWE wrestlers have to springboard from the corner if they even attempt such offense (the biggest culprits were Lance Storm and Rey Misterio). Actually, the wrestling ring is the focal point of the presentation because it's in the one place the audience is consistently staring at the most, so it does need attention. This is why they have ring aprons and why sometimes the actual canvas has logos on it. They also have specific color schemes as well. Actually, the concept for the six-sided ring was pioneered in Mexico, I believe. Those dastardly Mexicans and their crazy concepts. What's next? High-flying wrestling? It looks stupid to you, but in the end...it's just a ring. I'm willing to bet five bucks you're not even a TNA fan anyway, so you wouldn't be expected to like anything they do. It's not that stupid of a thing to try to innovate or shine up something with regards to the ring or stage area. If it was stupid, then they'd all still just be walking out of the back through a curtain with no entrance music. Alas, they aren't because it's all part of the presentation now.

LOL! I know, the only reason they ordered that 6 sided ring was to try to be different. Thats the main reason it exist is just to try to be different. The main reason for its existance in tna is not for improved wrestling but to be different. And that's pretty much the only reason lol

I agree with most of you. The hole reason for having a 6 sided ring is to be differn't then dubbya dubbya E.

Good point, I never clocked on to that.

I like the six sided ring, it's different, makes TNA look less unoriginal to the average wrestling fan.

Growing up around the buisness, I personally don't like the 6 sided ring.. When I think wrestling I think "The Squared Circle".... I could see TNA Changing it back.

You don't need to have shorter ropes to increase rope tension. You can increase the rope tension to any point by "tightening" the ropes. That's something so basic. :lmao:
in the end...it's just a ring.
Exactly, so calm down there. lol

^Actually, several factors go into the leverage of a given rope. Type of rope used, length, AND tension. Besides, the type of rope used in TNA is the same type used in WCW, cable. WWE's rope is fabric. That's something so basic.

What? This didn't even refute anything I said. All you did was accomplish the goal of posting under me. I wasn't referring to the type of rope currently used in tna, I was reffering to tightening ropes. There are a million different ways you can increase rope tension. I never specified using there current type of rope to tighten there ropes. They can choose any type of correct rope they want to, as long as they tighten the ropes.
You do not need six sides of ring to accomplish having good rope tension. There are other alternatives. The reason they have that silly looking 6 sided ring is to try to be different.

^It wasn't meant to refute, but rather ADD. You're statement was only partially encompassing the nature of the beast and was for all intents and purposes, half-assed. And no, not all of the ropes respond the same, so you're wrong on that account. The fabric used in the WWE ropes is an elastic material which has a LOT of give compared to steel cable. What do you think is the more durable ring-rope with less give? Steel elevator cable or dense elastic fabric? WWE work has always been geared around allowing the larger guys to get more rebound for any kind of running spots they might do (hence the extra four feet of space length-wise and width-wise than the WCW ring did). And yes, with the six sides they were able to trim the length of rope given between each turnbuckle, which in turn made less slack and TIGHTER ROPE. It also allowed them to increase the overall space of the actual ring surface to accomodate more wrestlers in it at one time. You find the ring silly, and that's cool. It helps the X-divisioners at what they do by giving them more room to play and a steadier footing for any springboard maneuvers they wish to perform.
