There is only one company that should buy WWE

Walt Disney. Disney could bring the WWE back from the dead. Just look at the incredible job Disney has done with Marvel and what they're about to do with Star Wars. WWE's training center is already in Florida so why not move the home base of WWE to Orlando? WWE could become one of the attractions at Disney including a physical hall of fame and perhaps home to a couple of raws and one or two ppvs a year. It just makes perfect sense. Disney could use their own talented staff to write WWE storylines and push the McMahon's out of WWE completely including Triple H.

*ahem* NON-spam section

Although John Cena and Mickey Mouse vs. Bray Wyatt and Big Bad Pete would rake in the pennies!

First off, Marvel's success is due to Marvel Studios, not Disney. Sure Disney helps, but don't discount why they acquired Marvel in the first place. Disney is not the creative behind Marvel.

As for Disney acquiring WWE, I've thought about this many times, and it's something that would fit in a Disney portfolio, but I've come to think that it'd be a terrible idea. WWE is more lifelike than Marvel or Star Wars or Indiana Jones and because of that would be held to a different standard. Their creative would be scrutinized (though, can it really get much worse?). WWE works best as an independent organization in my opinion.

And with writing, writing for professional wattling is COMPLETELY different than writing for a TV show, a cartoon, a movie or anything else Disney has. That would likely be another bad move long term.

Disney has a tendancy to wreck whatever it touches. I will say the avengers and the other superhero movies were good, but only because like another poster said Marvel studios helped out. The next Star Wars is gonna suck, mark my words.

Disney is a "family" company. They should not TOUCH WWE. If they do then please kill me, because that will be it for me.

You can't "buy" a publicly traded company no matter how much money you have. Disney could potentially buy more shares of stock than Vince McMahon and create a huge power struggle within WWE, but that's not likely to happen. In order to do that, Disney would have to buy somewhere close to $1 billion worth of stock and even for Disney, that's not exactly chump change. WWE could be an investment for Disney just as Marvel Comics and the Star Wars franchise are, but just because you have a shitload of money to spend doesn't mean you know how to operate a professional wrestling company. Just ask Ted Turner about that; he pumped vast sums of money into WCW but it was ultimately just another business investment for him.

Also, just to clarify and back up a few other posters, Disney has had some credit to the success of Marvel Studios, but not nearly as much as the OP assigns. There'd been numerous successful animated television programs and blockbuster films on Marvel's characters for nearly a decade before the company was purchased by Disney. I think a HUGE factor in what's led to Marvel continuing to thrive after the purchase is that Disney executives have ultimately stayed the fuck out of the way and let the people who were running things before continue doing their jobs because they actually know what they're doing.

But WWE doesn't need to be brought back from the dead....

THIS. WWE is doing just fine in my opinion. Yes it lost alot of value the other week but WWE is well and truly alive brother.

The Network is a long term plan which will pay dividends eventually. As for Disney buying WWE....if you think PG WWE is bad, wait for Disney WWE.

Finally - after 35 years...

Walt Disney cant even bring himself back from the dead.

Plus, WWE is doing well right now. There can always be adjustments here & there, but for the most part RAW & NXT have been great. All they need is more network subscriptions & an outside company wont do much good there.

Vince McMahon would be better off creating 'WWE Universe' (a WWE version of Disney Land). Here, we would see an actual WWE Hall of Fame building, an 'Impact Zone' type arena where NXT can be held, WWE themed rides, shops, restaurants, even the "SmackDown Hotel". Have WWE Superstars make special appearances for autograph signings, etc.

The McMahon's and Triple H should be focusing on making WWE it's own Empire, not selling it to Disney.

WWE is already an empire. The next closest competition is still very far from touching them in regards to merch, tickets, tv\ppv deals & advertising money. Vince doesnt need a hokey theme park to be the #1 promotion.

Although Kane's Haunted Hayride could be pretty cool, that stuff would be best for the State Fair. Plus, Six Flags is fucking expensive, so just how much do you think Vince would charge?

Disney would have to erase the past 20 years of WWE from existence. How are they supposed to explain the story of Katie Vick to children? They adapted Sleeping Beauty, sure, but necrophilia is a bit different from rape.
