The WZT Verbal RKO thread

So i guess AM is just legally ******ed. That has to be it.

Call me crazy, but if the long winded via satellite Rock vs Cena fruity pebble challenge feud was a bigger deal than the whole nWo storyline- then I am missing something. Or am I just old. Is that it? Have I now become the minority because I remember things did exist before Cena? A far off imaginary land filled with real champions & big deal fights, completely devoid of military jorts & 5 knuckle shuffles. A time when red & yellow ran black & no-one screamed Yabba Doo.

Someone get me a rocking chair & my slippers. I think I need a nap.

The NWO is probably the most important thing to happen in wrestling since Wrestlemania 1, or perhaps 3. It made sure that the wrestling landscape was WCW v.s. WWF and forced WWF to break their own rules, up their game and eventually create the most lucrative model for wrestling, putting WCW out of business and making the wrestling scene basically a one-company monopoly with scraps on the side for the rest to fight for.

The NWO started that idea of two globally competitive companies where it was win or lose by making it personal and featuring two former WWF guys as defectors sent to 'take over'. Rock and Cena was nice and great nostalgically for fans of The Rock, great for kids who never knew the Rock and loved Cena, a great experience but it did absolutely the opposite of the NWO by changing nothing, reinforcing the stats quo and attempting to solidify the career of Cena as an all-time great, which in magnitude, had already long since been established.

In terms of historical significance, NWO is probably in the top 3, Rock and Cena wouldn't break the top 50. So no, you're right.

Just to point out, that tournament was extremely controversial because Edge fans were campaigning for votes and pretty much everyone against it banded for Hart.

The benefits of lurking.

Did the same happen for Michaels and Undertaker as well?

I'm sure it was odd to have seen Michaels and Undertaker go over Hogan, Cena, Rock and Austin.

Next year.... next year...

The BZT is just good fun. No true feuds over it.

Speaking of which, I have an amazing idea for a competitor.

I saw one of the older ones (last one, I think) and noticed Goku won.

:disappointed:

Poor Sue Storm had to fight one of the biggest Mary Sue'd characters ever.

Y'know who'd make two good additions to the BZT?

Preacher and Saint of Killers.

Saint of Killers wouldn't be much fun in a tournament like this but the same can be said of any other of the overly super powered characters. Preacher could have some interesting match ups though.

On a related note, someone at my work is selling all their Preacher novels to me for £30 on Monday. Gonna be a good start to the week.

I actually stopped talking to Pancake for about 48 hours over the BZT once. He is gay for Flash, I hate Flash. Riots ensued.

Saint of Killers is a very Mary Sue character, but it's so simplistic in the way that it's done.

No "power levels."

No "cosmic scale."

Just... he can't die, his gun never misses, never runs out of ammo and always lands a lethal blow.

We need an all-star jobbers edition of WZT.

And an explanation on what people are going to consider a Mary Sue and a Marty Stu in this thread, apparently.

Eric, explain what a Mary Sue is.

Depends on the various versions of it, do you want the original or the one that is usually applied to comic book/anime heroes?

In a general sense however, the term "Mary Sue" usually includes the character that has little to no significant flaws to their character, whether it be personality or powers, thus usually giving them no limitations or very, very few.

The Hulk, for instance, is often described as a "Mary Sue" due to his "limitless strength" since it gives him little to no weaknesses.

I'd be willing to give you a pass on that if you didn't call Hulk a Mary Sue. Hulk has a multitude of weaknesses, mostly that he is Bruce Banner, and Banner is a huge pussy.

And it isn't like they send Hulk in to fight some bitch like Pyro or fucking Mysterio. He is constantly taking on the biggest and baddest foes in the Marvel Universe, or giant armies.

Just because a guy is strong or powerful doesn't make him a Mary Sue. A pretty weak character can be a Mary Sue. Wesley Crusher was a Mary Sue, and he was a mark ass bitch.

We have some Mary Sue characters pass by in the fed from time to time, look up Johhny Scumm. That ***** was a Mary Sue.

If I remember correctly (I didn't read much comics at the time but I saw the discussions and debates), people considered Hulk a "Mary Sue" during World War Hulk due to him just annihilating almost everyone. Yes, Wesley is a Mary Sue for different reasons than someone like Goku. I've just seen Hulk considered one since his strength is usually considered "limitless."

Why can't Awesome_Miz be banned?

If I were still a mod, I'd ban his stupid ass. He's simply trolling and making it look like a solid post. He might not have made a difference, but he didn't help Flair's cause in this thing. Many vote the opposite of what he votes in spite of that turd.

He's not trolling. He really is that stupid.
