The Wwe, it's videogames,and blood

Simply put, blood in a video game doesn't hurt anyone, but a REAL human being losing blood isn't a healthy thing. You guys can sit here and complain, but let's see you go out there and do what they do. I mean take a look at other sports, NBA if you get busted open you instantly leave the court. NHL same thing, you're allowed back in the game, but after you get stitched up. The point is WWE is looking out for the health and well-being of the Superstars and officials.

As for the games, I personally haven't played the games since the 2008 version, but that's because of the shitty control system. I don't care if they have blood or not as long as the game is fun and easy to pick up and play. If I want blood in my gaming, I'll play Assassin's Creed or some other game where the object is to kill and maim your enemy.

As for Blood in wrestling. I am glad WWE banned it. Sure it was entertaining sometimes but why risk these wrestlers more then they are already risking themselves. Blood rarely added anything to the match unless it was a first blood match or something among those lines.

As for blood in the video game.

1)They should just have a turn it on or off feature. They could still have a first blood match but not call it first blood match. It could be simply if you want a first blood match go to a singles match then go to rules, turn off pin fall, knock out, and DQ and turn on a First Blood.

2) I wouldn't be surprised if they did something to where if it is a regular match if someone starts bleeding they bring in a medic to fix the wrestler up. Then during this cut scene maybe it energizes both characters with a little breather.

3) I believe they completed revamped the blood system in SVR 2010 and before the game came out the creators were really talking it up. Also for some characters in the game they can make themselves bleed and when they do they get all hyped up. I am sure if it is up to THQ they will keep the blood apart of the game.

could care less if there was blood or not in the games, glad blood is gone on TV. Does it really matter to you if they bleed in the game? lol

Really don't care either way will buy the game regardless, the only thing is that it looks really dumb when you get a chair or something hit them a 100x and their not bleeding, then again if you hit them a 100x in their leg they still get up and go on the top rope.
lol I'm just going to stop.

i heard that there will be blood in the new game but a doctor comes out and stops the match to put a band aid on their head. wwe... :banghead:

it be cool if the new video game does have people come out to clean up the blood during a match and we could just beat them up. dammit i hate "pg" rating. since the interference option doesnt always work and when it does it so deep into the match...

if they keep adding features like story designer, online sharing and create features i really wouldnt miss blood. i been playing smackdown games since they been comin out and i always payed attention to how they made the game better. if they do have blood cool, if not whatever. give me the create features

Ive Played Smackdown games since the 1st one came out, and when blood came on to HCTP, i was 9/10/11 or 12 years old...i wasn't offended and crying that Goldberg or The Rock was busted open, honestly it didn't bother me at all! But with blood in the game, it gives it a more realistic feel when you constantly pummell there face with a chair. I'd Say make a feature to turn it off incase over protective moms think its going to harm their child or whatever it is they say now. If they take blood out to make it kid-friendly, then take out Chair shots to the head and give John Cena a maxed out overall...I'm Just Sayin...It sarcasticly...

I doubt they will get rid of the blood in the next. This is because, even if they did the game would still have the T rating. Video game ratings have always been more strict than T.V ratings. Besides SvR is usually considered to be a fighting game and that genre of game gets a T rating by default because of the violence in the game.

they should have a turn on and off feature where on you have the weapons under the ring and blood feature is on, where as the off feature, no weapons under the ring and blood feature is off...

if they keep adding features like story designer, online sharing and create features i really wouldnt miss blood.

I have to agree with that one. As long as the SVR brand continues to up the product to the whole "It's Your World Now" like they barely managed to do in the 2010 brand, then I probably wouldn't mind the lack of blood (despite the fact I never finish a match until I bust someone open, teehee). I'd be disappointed, to be sure, since they actually added more to the blood in the last game (i.e. the more you hit the area, the more it will bleed; you get blood on your chest or fists depending where you hit the bleeding area). The one thing I was disappointed in was that there were no longer any Mixed Gender matches. :(

For 2011, I'd like to see more customizations for the CAW and CAS (and please add an actual storyline to Career Mode; I never play it anymore because it's just click and fight now). Maybe more characters to unlock, and some such. Since I severely doubt they'd allow the Mix Gender matches back in, we can still have a small hope that they'll leave our blood alone.

Otherwise, blood isn't a big thing in WWE wrestling, guys. If you just want the game for its blood features, there's plenty of other fighting games that feature it (and much better, mind you), so if anything, it's what we should expect to happen. After all, the PG Era has to end sometime. Just like the Attitude Era did.

It wouldn't surprise me if they banned it. I imagine that there's a very good chance blood will be off by default and needs to be switched on in the settings. Not to stereotype kids, but they don't seem as likely to fiddle with menus and would rather just play random matches, and that may stop them from ever seeing it.

I also believe that as someone said the games are rated T for teen, which is higher than the on-screen product, which links in to my next point.

The games are not like the on-screen product. They're far more chaotic. You can kick out of finishers and all sorts of crazy moves. You pop straight back up after 99% of moves. You can withstand endless weapon shots, etc etc etc. The Tombstone connects legitimately, their head hits the canvas, unprotected. There's no selling or protection, the moves are hit as if they were real. It is not a realistic reflection of wrestling. Some parts it does better than real people ever could (i.e. they can take head-drops without getting concussed), and some parts will never match life (pacing, being able to do any move in the world in any given match etc).

Though there are stuffy people in suits suing everyone in site trying to get video games banned for being a bad influence on children despite ratings certificates, the ultimate defense for the blood in the game is that it is just a game. Sure, everyone knows wrestling is fake, but children don't quite understand how fake it is, no matter what you tell them. Children are far more likely to copy real people than digital ones. I mean you get those reports of kids copying video games, but they're very few and far between compared to copying things they see from real people. Hell, every child in the world copies a real person on a regular basis, television or otherwise.

And finally, the blood in video games isn't real blood, which makes it easier to defend. Some people I know who don't know anything about wrestling thought that the blood was from some sort of fake capsule or packet that they burst, which would give them a chance at using it, but how it took until 2010 for people to ban self-mutilation on television I'm not sure.
