The WWE is in a very good place right now, but do they need a little something extra

Getting Noticed By Management
There's all this talk about the attitude era on WWE TV with the new WWE' 13 videogame coming out which makes me think of the old days. In the attitude Era there was this great energy brought on by many sources. There was Steve Austin or course who was in his feud with Mcmahon, there was also the Rock who was doing his thing. DX was a big part of the attitude Era, Mankind was in there doing great stuff as well as the Undertaker and Kane. And you had the secondary players like Edge and Christian, Val Venis, The Godfather and others.

I do think WWE is creating a lot of very strong interesting points right now. Punk seems to have found his knitch again and along with Heyman is putting on great promos week after week. Ryback has that Goldberg like prescence and is slowly but surely carving out his own brand of intensity, as he continues to add new layers to his eye catching persona. Daniel Byran is coming off the most successful year of his career and his pairing with Kane is going so well it reminds of the chemistry that happened you put the New Age Outlaws together. Team Hell No is great and an attraction. John Cena will always make waves. And you have all these young hungry talented guys coming up and midcards rounding off the show like a Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow, Dolph Ziggler, Miz and others.

Punk and Heyman, Ryback, Team Hell No, John Cena, Vince Mcmahon it's a great assembly of talent and energy but I think Raw just needs one more major attraction to push it over the top to have concrete great action each week. The only thing I can think of bringing back the Nexus. There is a part of me that thinks the Nexus boat has come and sailed. Wade Barrett is reborn and is really embracing this brass knuckle gimmick. Justin Gabriel is tagging with Tyson Kidd and have shown flashes of greatness. Heath Slater has his own band going on and is looking for it to get off the ground. Otunga has moved on as well. But I think just keep thinking of Attitude Era, Austin vs Mcmahon, DX, The Rock, Mankind, and the Undertaker right now Punk Heyman vs Mcmahon, Ryback, John Cena, Team Hell No, and they just need a little something extra to have a really well rounded hook for people to tune each week. People were chanting for "We Want Nexus" the other day when Gabriel and Barrett got it on. Maybe it's not the last we have seen the infamous yellow and black "N" font.

I would say WWE needs A LOT more. The product is awful and thats not just my opinion, ratings don't lie. CM Punk is not a draw, been in WWE for many years now and just doesn't bring in the audience. Ryback has a ton of potential to get major over and start drawing in big crowds- but IMO the "Feed Me More" thing is too cartoony- why would a grown male fan want to wear merchandise that says Feed Me More? Its not natural -too gimmicky. Either way thats an opinion and I think Ryback's potential is huge. But thats it- Ryback and Cena- other than that, the roster is very dull and lacks star power- minus the part time stars. WWE needs to bring in characters- not a bunch of guys that look and talk a like. Its boring.

Yes, I agree the WWE is in a good place right now, they STILL have not done enough to catch peoples eyes. Like the user above me said, ratings don't lie. The WWE have CM punk whom, with all due respect is great at what he does. But he is not John Cena and never will be. John Cena is still on tv but cannot compete which is affecting ratings.

Team hell no are okay but are beginning to annoy me. They will eventually fade out and no one will care. Ryback is awesome and has huge pontential, provided they don't drop the ball with him, he will certainly continue to build his character, he has that WOW factor obviously. With the WWE being 3 hours, they need MORE!

The roster is not doing enough to step up and Dolph Ziggler needs to step his game up, if he is going to be the next world champions. His mic skills are not there yet. The main event scene is way too thing and smackdown is boring.

So the WWE needs more to work with, there has been many negative vibes coming from the creative team and not doing enough and jumping off of a cliff. Hopefully, whomever the top star was, who confronted Vince, who then shook things up. This should affect what we see on TV in the coming months, But from now until Wrestlemania, they need to really focus on ratings and improving the product more and more.

Well, i wouldn't say the WWE is in a good place right now, to me, the reason they are still number 1 is because basicly they don't have any competition, the other brands ( TNA, ROH, etc. ) are very far behind, but they do have the oportinity to bring the IT factor to wrestling, the shock factor, element of surprise, or whatever people can call it in front of them, and that oportunity's name is Paul Heyman, when he was in charge of WWECW, it was great, considering that the roster he had were either newbies or rejects from RAW or Smackdown, because he knew how to put storylines, feuds and how to get people's attention, and when he was in charge of Smackdown, it was better than RAW, and RAW had the big stars, but once again, the booking, the storylines, etc. were great thanks to Heyman, and how did McMahon thank him, by leting him go, now, he's back, and if the WWE is smart enough, or if Vince's ego don't get in the way, they can actually bring the WWE to a good place, Heyman may not be the greatest administrator, but he has a great mind for the bussiness........

Wwe is in a good place! Really? Are we watching different programs? the current output is horrendous in my eyes. And seems more in line with the dying days of WCW, and WWF before the reboot and push towards attitude. it's the cartoon nature of old wwf which was laid bare by vince himself the other week. its hard for me to watch personally.

I find it incredible that WWE is lacking any top talent(atleast mcmahon family approved talent) that vince has felt the need to hotshot ryback on us and put himself back on screen. Hell vince had to helpout his ego whilst at it and make himself look stronger than your champion!! No matter how much you try and spin it, that's what has happened here. How sad that with no cena there is basically no main event. I'm shocked that people are that ardent its fine sailing on the good ship entertainment, that they are ignoring the truth. These are dark days. Still, people will give abuse for differing views and continue along their way. Ever thus.

If i was cena id be laying back at home ringing my agent and saying "look how desperate they are without me? we hold ALL the chips." because that's the way it's coming across.

WWE is far from being in a good place. Just look at this past Monday's Raw, the product just looked like it was thrown together and no one knew what to do about stories. They took a main event and just blew it apart when it was put together just the week before. Which later we found out that the script for the show was ripped up on that friday and they had to make an all new one over the weekend and were still making changes as the show was going on. Which with the creative team getting all mixed up with layoffs I am guessing that we havnt seen the last of the product feeling like a mess.

Then the ratings are down, ticket sales have been going down.

As for the talent, they have it BUT don't know how to useit right. Alot of the heels just feel like they are the same. Then when wrestlers start picking up steam as a face they either go to being a heel because know that they will not beable to take Cena's place as face of the company or fade out or get buried. They have not had a good method of building a top superstar latly. When they get someone that people like they shove them down our throats till people don't care or even turning us agenst them.

They have alot of the peices to make it a great product, but they are all over the floor, all around some under the couch and no one seems to know how to put them together. Well that or the ones that can help figure out how to get the peices together the main people just sit back laugh at them and say no thanks we have this.

I am REALLY hoping for the return of the Nexus. The first time I saw the Nexus invade, I thought "wow, this is really something." A group that's simply dominating the rest of the WWE would be good, as a threat like this can make Ryback look human, if they decide to target him. I can see a Paul Heyman-led group too, with people like CM Punk, Brock Lesnar, maybe Big Show.

The product right now is just horrible - I've missed last 2 Raws for first time in over 15 years and feel like I didn't miss a thing.

The heels / good guys are all the same carbon copies of each other. It's like the writers just write speeches and randomly hand them out, no one has a personality of their own. Same speeches week after week and nothing new.

I would like a 1/2 return to the attitued era, not the sex and language but the "what could happen" factor and letting guys be themselves a little more instead of trying to make a 3 hour movie reading word for word from a script. Now seems you can miss a month or 2 and when you come back nothing has changed and it's like you never missed anything.

This is my opinion and my opinion only...

I think the WWE isn't at it's highest level in standing order, but it's much better than what I (we) were witnessing early on in the year from about Mid-January to about May. To be honest I thought that was the worst set of WWE that it had in a while. Once and a while I'd wish that the WWE would step out of it's own "comfort zone" and place in some fresh and/or newer things around the WWE. SmackDown is a joke, I apologize if I may have made people angry but SmackDown is failing. No doubt it will always be the second fiddel to RAW, always was and always will be. I think the reason why many people are so quick to throw away the WWE is because there is no variety between RAW and SmackDown. How do you go about fixing this situation? Bring up some newer talent. I hear Seth Rollins has been rolling along in NXT. How about Justin Gabriel? He's a high flyer that can entertain an audience. Big Show? Sheamus? Wade Barrett? Antonio Caesaro? Please. Add in Rollins and Gabriel. Alot of people I've seen here are quick to throw out the current WWE product and wish the WWE would return back to the Attitude Era. I'm sorry but that's not going to happen, anytime soon. In my honest opinion, the Attitude Era was just an era that the WWF set in place to help WCW drop in the rankings. Was it good wrestling? Not really. Nowadays, the wrestling is much more better. Sure, SCSA downing 4-10 beers is cool. Then what? Trish Stratus barking like a dog to VKM? Sure, John Cena, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, ADR, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, Sheamus and Wade Barrett aren't main event material guys like The Rock, SCSA, Mick Foley and his 3 aliases, Shawn Michaels... etc. Bottom line, is the WWE needs much more flexibility and balancing out RAW and Smackdown
