Who do we care about in the WWE now?

tripleddd

Pre-Show Stalwart
Cards laid on the table - I started watching wrestling wwe/f 1999/2000 - right in the middle of the attitude era and all the great story telling that went with it.I probably kept going with it until about 2006/7 and now just dip in and out and it got me thinking about todays product who do we really care about who do we want to really see? For me when its all said and done despite the Super Cena era and I don't blame him for that - i need to see John Cena - I don't particulary like how hes being booked but I see John Cena at last turning into what I think was his destiny - he is the attitudes era Stone cold.

Punk and Bryan. Cena is this era's Stone Cold just like Austin was that era's Hogan - he is the top star. wwe always like someone to grab onto and say "this is the man in our business". that's is what makes things interesting now. kids love Cena but a lot of the other fans don't care for him. Besides him, there is on one who stands out as the top guy in the company but a lot of people like Punk, a lot like Bryan, a lot like Sheamus, etc. this could be good for the business. Look back to when Hogan left. for a long time, there was no top man in the company. you had Bret, HBK, Taker, but no one could honestly say who was the top guy until Austin. We could be heading into the same sort of area where we have a few years of some really good wrestlers before the next big thing hits. not saying that Punk or Bryan are not top level guys, just that they have not been pushed the right way for people to say "wwe=CM Punk". but they are definitely talents to grab people attention.

I don't care about Cena.

I care to see quality wrestling and people who actually know what their doing out there... CM Punk, Daniel Bryan... both of them were left of Smackdown last week, making me think their becomming Raw exclusives.

Ryback.. I love watching him destroy people. Can't wait to see him move onto other feuds as well.

Dolph Ziggler as of late is getting even better, if that were possible. He's going to be growing into a great role I'm sure.

I say Top 5 draws for me are Punk, Bryan, Ryback, Ziggler, and I'm going to throw Sin Cara on that list just because he performs so different than anybody else on the roster, and it's always entertaining. I don't get the hate for him.. I think he'll grow into the next Rey Mysterio with no problem if the WWE stayed behind him.

Fr me, I care about Daniel Bryan and CM Punk. They represent the true breed, the stars of the past came up through the territories the way these two came up through the indies. They worked hard developing their skills as grapplers, entertainers, orators, and personalities working in front of any size crowd they could find all over the world. Some of WWE's talent gets picked up from college sports teams or modeling agencies, and they're taught to perform on the job in front of millions. The guys I care about are the ones who dreamed about wrestling for the WWF title growing up, and worked against the odds to do it.

Who I care about?
1. I like Punk. Since he's been given the ball he has dome well, I just hope they let him go full on before all is said and done.
2. Ziggler. He's Mr.Perfect and HBK all rolled into one. We have yet to see what he is capable of.
3. Brodus Clay. His gimmick is great and when you see in his back stage promos when he gets mad he handles the change great. He also works very well with the Funkadactyls.
4. Cody Rhodes. He lost something when he stopped bagging people and needs to find it again but he is an example of someone I never gave a chance when he partnered with Hardcore Holly.
5.Usos. How long till they get their run?
6. Damian Sandow is just starting but I can't wait to see how his character evolves. He is a classic style entertainer.

Just my short list, but these are the people that I have had my eye on.

I care about CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Cody Rhodes, Dolph Ziggler, Brodus Clay, and Wade Barrett.

I don't think I need to explain myself for Wade Barrett, Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes or Dolph Ziggler.

As for Brodus, he took a gimmick that was given to him as punishment and was meant to make him look like a fool and turned the tables on WWE.

I don't get why people call Brodus, the Rikishi 2.0 or Flash Funk 2.0. It's not like he asked for this character. I don't think he is like Rikishi or Flash Funk. Sure, Rikishi was a fat guy who danced. How many people in wrestling have danced? How many people in wrestling were fat? Lots!

As for the Flash Funk comparison, wow, just because his gimmick incorporates the term "Funk" and he has valets that come to the ring with him?

Lots of people had valets. Macho Man, DDP, Booker T, this list could go on and on. And a few wrestlers used some funk in their gimmick. Disco Inferno, Dude Love, I'm sure there's just more than Flash Funk.

He's a good big man, very agile for his size. Many people pushed for Brodus to be put on TV because he was a good, hard worker and willing to do what was asked of him and he seemed to impressed a lot of people.

Brodus deserves his spot on TV. Whether it be The Funkasaurus, G-Rilla or simply Brodus Clay

Daniel Bryan - I've only been watching wrestling again for about a year (since Savage's death) and I'm not familiar with the indie scene so the only thing I really knew about him at this time last year was that he was an incredibly boring and bland babyface that was really good in the ring. Then WWE decided to actually, you know, let him talk once in a while and now he is the most entertaining guy on the roster.

CM Punk - It's been a long time since The Promo but he's holding up well when you consider the lackluster feuds creative has had for him since he was given a crown last summer. He does need to cut down on the 'you have no balls' insults though. He goes to that well WAY to much lately and it's starting to come off as petty and repetitive. We expect more than that from him but I fear the increased workload of the past year is burning him out.

Damien Sandow - This guy is incredible. I only know him from what I've seen on Smackdown the last few weeks but this guy is a huge talent and already in my personal fave-five. Almost flawless on the mic so far but I want to see him in verbal altercations with other people soon. Cutting great promos from a memorized script is different from the back-and-forth pseudo-improv that happens during a feud.

Cody Rhodes - There is something about the way he so fully commits to his story/gimmick that appeals to me. No flaws in his game.

I don't care about Cena.

I care to see quality wrestling and people who actually know what their doing out there...

Ryback.. I love watching him destroy people. Can't wait to see him move onto other feuds as well.

Wait so Cena doesn't know what he's doing, but Ryback does...

What the hell are you basing this on? Cena consistently delivers in main event matches and can tell a story in the ring. He has an interesting character and a unique relationship with the fans. His dynamic with the crowd creates compelling storytelling and generates a big match feel for just about every main event match he's in. Cena's everything you'd want in a top guy.

I'm not saying Ryback sucks or anything because he's really just starting out, but to say that Cena flat out doesn't know what he's doing and turn around and say someone as green as Ryback does is ridiculous.

If this is full time Wrestlers then :

1) Cena
2) Punk
3) Bryan
4) Ryback
5) Kane
6) Sheamus

Including the Part timers :

Put Brock, Triple H, and the Rock level with Cena, and Steve Austin if he wants to come back.

The rest are below Main-Event for me (just my opinion)

I rate Ryback so high because at the moment he is just so damn interesting (again just my opinion)

For those who like/ love ryback did you slip into a Bourne/Orton party and leave with the munchies?

Ryback walks around like goldberg, squash two worthless indy wrestlers and walks out. Your high on a guy that does well nothing. Anyone can do that and most have at some point. You laugh and clown John Cena for his five moves of doom but what wrestling moves is Ryback throwing around?? The biggest down fall to Big Zeke, JoMo and Chris Masters was their inability to cut a good promo, what do you think will happen when he has to talk?

Sin Cara But as much as I would like to see him go far WWE isn't the place that will happen for him. His high flying high speed pace can't be matched by more than a hand full of wrestlers in the WWE. To include the top talent meaning Sin Cara will never have a true shot unless he becomes boring, when your boring in the ring you need a great promo set ( see John Cena).

Del Rio Still stuck in the same old style as a new WWE talent and one of my personal favorites. Del Rio still has a lot let in the tank. He hasn't steped into a Second finisher which I think he needs. A stong powerful finsiher to add to his skill set. ( I can't believe I am going to compliment this ass but he has it) like that of CM punk. Del Rio also hasn't tried the face turn as much as I would hate to see it. Flip flopping seems really lame to me ( see Big show)

Cody Rhodes Cody was very much a flop for me, which sucks because I remember seeing him so young with his dad and brother. Since his new gimmick he has grown on me like moss. I love his character and could see him easiliy becoming a great IC champ for awhile then when the WC champs start needing a break, get hurt or get fired for steroids and pot. Cody will still be young enough to jump in the spotlight ( see Shawn Micheals)

* I love the IC title race. For a long time it was a joke of a title but with Christian and Rhodes I think the division could become back to it's former glory ( Razor,Shawn, bret, Mountie, Martel etc). I think a few more should be added Ziggler would be nice but can also see him as a decent WC.

Lord Tensai No not really I am not dumb enough to ever think this idea will get over. I remember Albert before and he was mid to low card talent and should have stayed that way.

Sheamus I think him a lot because he is the cloest thing to Triple H there is however he saved 10 years by being the now triple H and spiking the crappy Hunter Years and Jumping right to the DX years. Sheamus has a long time left in the WWE, I can see him taking over John Cena. I say this because John Cena will get a lot more haters where as Sheamus doesn't get nearly as boo'ed.

Seems like someone is already burying Ryback up there.

It seems like most smarks only care about Punk Bryan, Rhodes, Christian, and Ziggler, which is pretty bad. Why should the WWE continue production of Smackdown and Raw if if people are only going to care about a small amount of wrestlers in a large roster? Fans definitely one of the reasons of product decline. Anyways back on topic, I care about the men mentioned above with the addition of Sheamus. Sheamus is the WHC, plus his ring skills aren't bad either, although he needs to sharpen up on the mic. Alberto Del Rio: This guy is just awesome in the ring, but he bores me on the mic, talking about destiny over and over again. Overall, ADR isn't bad. Damien Sandow: This Guy is gold on the mic, and I rather see him talk than wrestler, which is awesome, but hopefully he gets into more established feuds soon. Ryback: He has a great look, and his ring skills are phenomenal just from wrestling against jobbers. Hopefully he talks soon and gets into a real feud soon. Antonio Cesaro : So far he's not bad, bit.his gimmick isn't that great. It's too early to tell how he ends up, but he should have a bright future. Now everyone might laugh with this choice, but I also care about JTG. Why? Ever since he lost Shad as a partner, and went to NXT, he has incredibly improved in the ring. I'm glad that he got rid of that Cryme Tyne gimmick, and got a new look. He looks more legit as a midcard contender and hopefully he gets a future IC or US title run. I can list many more wrestler, but I don't feel like listing the rest, but there's more to the roster than just the main eventers and one or two midcarders.

I care about wrestling ability.

I am for punk, bryan, ziggler, christian, rhodes, and beth phoenix.

I'm not entertained by john cena, nor by big show, nor by a dancing fat guy, nor by santino, nor by zack ryder.

Everyone has different opinions. But it's a wrestling business. If it wasn't wrestling, then they wouldn't wrestle. Like punk said, "wrestling just happens to be damn entertaining"

Get that wwe? WRESTLING
