The Wrestlemania Twist

RicSpade

Mr. All-in
We are closely approaching Wrestlemania XXX showcase of the immortals, and it got me thinking of things we never expected to happen at Wrestlemania, Andre turning on the Heenan Family, Chyna turning and teaming with Triple H only to defunct from DX, Stone Cold teams with Vince McMahon.

So my question is as we are about to enter the showcase of the immortals what twists do we expect?

I think we expect the Cescaro face turn fully

I think Daniel Bryan gets his title shot only to lose because of Phil Brooks

I think a non main eventer wins the Andre the Giant battle royal

what do you think is going to happen?

I think any chance that Phil Brooks will show up at Wrestlemania is positively nil. It just won't happen. If he had a chance to show up it would have been in Chicago. I'm fairly confident that Heyman's bit was WWE's way of handling, in a pretty smart way I think, that CM Punk was not coming back. Just my .02 cents however.

I think you're pretty much spot on in your assessments, or at least they are all good/plausible guesses and not total pipe dreams.

Cesaro turn, absolutely. If not at Mania, then definitely the night after. I think because of Road Dogg's injury (plus the fact we've seen the match 80 times in the last month) WM will end up being Uso vs Real Americans, ultimately with the Usos retaining and the RAs splitting up.

Bryan definitely gets in the main event, whether or not he wins is up in the air but I still suspect Batista walks out champ. For that to happen, either HHH comes back and interferes in the match which would continue their program (I REALLY hope not). Otherwise, something surprising is gonna have to occur and Punk could be a good one. Looking at Mania I, X, and XX as the benchmark though, Bryan should close the show as champion and send the crowd home happy.

The Andre thing is a just a new name for the "squeeze half the roster into one match" concept thats been a staple of WM for years. Since the match has no real payoff in the form of a title shot or anything, and basically all you get from it is a rub, it would be surprising to give it to anyone but a mid carder because a bigger name wouldn't really benefit from the win.

I think you're biggest twist might actually be the end of Lesnar/Taker. This is purely dream booking on my part, but I think Lesnar might be about to finish him off when Sting makes the save. Next night Sting cuts a promo and says he wants to be the man to break the streak next year.

Someone said it in the Raw results comment section, and i swear I had thought of this before reading it. Maybe its just that obvious.....

Triple H vs Daniel Bryan - Finish of the match is a double pin or double countout, and someone like Hogan (making an executive decision much like The Rock did in Cena vs The Miz as the Wrestlemania host) or Vince books both Triple H and DB along with Batista and Randy Orton in the main event, making it a Fatal 4 Way for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Bryan still wins the belt, making him looks as strong as possible after beating 3 men instead of just 2. And the implosion of what used to be Evolution could be a storyline to come back to. Especially if DB pins Triple H to win the title, and Orton wasnt even involved in the decision that lost him his title. Even Batista could be upset with Triple H, as he wasnt even supposed to be in the match, and after coming back and winning the rumble, Hunter has cost him his dream.

I agree that I think a non main eventer will win the Andre the giant battle royal. My bet is on either Cesaro or Big E.

But for my unexpected moment I'm going to say we see an appearance from sting. Before or after Undertakers match we will see him walking backstage and he'll either bump into sting and they'll have a stare down, or Undertaker will be unknowingly watched by Sting.

I could definitely see the double pin or HHH & Bryan fighting to a draw and both being place in the Main Event. If that occurs, I see Bryan winning and that leading to Orton, HHH, & Batista feuding, possibly leading to Orton vs HHH vs Batista at SummerSlam.

But I definitely see Sting making an appearance. Im pretty sure him saying he has "purposely watching Raw in the past few weeks" as an indicator he is making the move to WWE. And I see Undertaker winning, and when the lights go dim and he is celebrating, getting on one knee doing the tongue sticking out and eye rolling, either Sting appearing in the ceiling looking down on him, but (hopefully) and even better, the lights go out and Sting appears behind Taker leading to a staredown. Or maybe when Taker is at the top of the ramp, the lights go out and Sting appears in the ring pointing the bat at Taker. If Sting were to make the save, in turn saving the Streak, it would put a caviot on Taker's win and the Streak. So I dont feel that is likely.

And I could see Big E winning the Andre Rumble, but more likely it comes down to Cesaro and Big E and Cesaro wins. Possibly by eliminating both Swagger and Big E at the same time. Cesaro seems to have a little more steam going compared to Big E.

Another big shock I could see happening, is CENA LOSING AND TURNING HEEL. This is a very long shot but if you were to turn Cena, it would be along the lines of other Top Faces turning Heel at WM and having him turn heel because of him losing to the Wyatts would be a safe way to do it. He could became a main heel and it would get a huge reaction and would capitalize on all the growing amount of boo's he has been getting for years. And if it doesnt work, it would be easy to turn around. But like I said, this is a long shot at best

I like this suggestion the best...Heck I would go so far as you could even have an NXT wrestler win it and either have them as a slimey heel or turn them that way....and then keep them down on NXT for the next year
Have them call themselves MR Wrestlemania...he can talk about HIS STREAK say maybe next year he should defend his streak vs Taker and then have him make his main roster debut next year at Mania 31....of course this requires long term planning of which WWE has not shown in many a year
I think a non main eventer wins the Andre the Giant battle royal

what do you think is going to happen?

WrestleMania has so much speculation around it...its the time where people go crazy with "what ifs" and overthink the possibilities and outcomes without any true logic. I honestly expect this to be a B+ show (haha no pun intended). The only surprise we might get is an HHH vs. Bryan double pin/countout. They will put more suprises (breakups, face/heel turns) the night after on Raw. I don't see CM Punk or any other big name wrestlers returning. Or in Stings case, debuting.

As for my predictions though I have The Usos beating Real Americans ( Jack and Cesaro officialy split on Raw).
John Cena somehow gets past Bray Wyatt.
HHH and DB both get entered in the main event, with DB winning, probably pinning HHH which would start a feud between old Evolution partners.
Andre the Giant Battle Royal - Its tough to say but the only giant left is Big Show, which would be kinda fitting.
And Taker of course beating Lesnar to never be heard from again

does anybody else see a Ric Flair appearance in this Bryan/HHH/Orton/Batista possible scenario? I can see Hogan stopping Flair get involved in the match, maybe Piper stop Orton and Vince himself comes out and costs HHH the match, and we have Bryan with Hogan, Piper and Vince McMahon putting Bryan over to end the show. After Raw ended with HHH saying he and Steph woneverything, I think this was said specifically for Vince to return and put his son in law in his place.

What makes people think this Punk walking out thing isn't a work and follows are some of my reasons and what could happen at Mania if he is available:

The night he walked out in front of everyone backstage VKM and Punk have a creative disagreement but Punk already had his luggage and Vince always has creative disagreement meetings in his office
If someone is going to quit the day of the show you don't wait to the last second these scripts are presented to the talent at least two hours in advance of the show if your program has been changed from the start of the day
Punk has mentioned in the past he is obsessed with twitter but not a peep out of him since being off tv
His recent appearance on Talking Dead he has the same look he did at the Rumble so if you have moved on you would change they way you look

One of two things will happen at Mania:
Punk will make sure Bryan loses
Punk will help Bryan win the title and a new stable will form with Punk and Bryan and maybe a few NXT talent and the leader of this stable to create a power struggle with the Authority would be Roddy Piper

From a business standpoint, Bryan vs. HHH should be a schmozz of some sort. Maybe HHH beats Bryan down, getting disqualified and weakening him for the main event; maybe it's a countout; maybe HHH wins via sledgehammer, then Vince/Hogan/whoever reverses it; maybe it's a double-countout that turns the main event into a four way.

It makes no sense to blow two money matches (Bryan vs. HHH and Bryan winning the WWE Championship) in one wad. Bryan vs. HHH could be a huge main event for Extreme Rules or SummerSlam, and Bryan going over then would be massively legitimizing for him (and HHH can save face because hey, it didn't happen at Wrestlemania, which is the only thing casual fans 10 years from now will remember).

I could see Batista/Orton/Bryan as the main event of Extreme Rules if they don't go with Triple H vs. Bryan II for the title and Batista vs. Orton as the other main event.

I think Bryan will walk out as champion.

I can't see CM Punk/Phil Brooks coming back

Fantasy booking perhaps but after the Undertaker has beaten Lesnar and is doing his post-match celebration, he gets distracted by something up in the rafters. The person he sees is Sting who points the baseball bat at 'Taker then at the Wrestlemania sign

Cena comes out with his classic chain. He gets so frustrated after not being able to put Bray away that he snaps and grabs his chain while the referee is distracted by Rowan and Harper on the outside (who never get physically involved). He hits Bray with it just as the referee turns around and gets DQ'd. Cena walks out ashamed of his actions and Bray comes to and laughs maniacally when he realizes that he caused Cena to snap and show his true colors. That sets up a No Holds Barred rematch at Extreme Rules.

My whole thing is WWE has a way of making waves with guys when Matt Hardy was resigned to the WWE after the Edge/Lita thing WWE tried to book him with ROH and TNA just to add to the storyline, so now having CM Punk be Phil Brooks could be a big swerve and if it is the SMARKS will say we knew it was a work, but honestly its been almost 2 months since he walked out and if its a work I play it to perfection, so what if him saying subtle things like I'm a changed man makes him his last run as Phil Brooks in WWE? we have corporate Kane so anything is possible, Hell I would love to see Daniel Bryan get in Takers face after he beats Lesnar signalling no matter what he's facing Taker next year, whatever happens will see.

I'm sure the elusive heel turn is never happening & I'd like for Bryan to walk out with the titles... but man, If Cena screwed Bryan out of the title in the main event, DAT HEAT

There'd be no way back from that turn I can tell you.

I mean I'm the smarkiest smark in all of smarkdom, but the mere thought of that is making my blood boil. So in that sense It'd get the desired reaction from ALL sections of the fan-base.

I don't expect any twists. I mean, Cesaro turning full face is hardly a twist is it.

If I'm being optimistic I'd like the twist to be that Mania becomes a show long storyline in which Bryan becomes Triple H's chosen one. Similar to Survivor Series '98. With Bryan going over Triple H easily, coming out for the title match clean shaven and then going on to defeat Orton & Batista. Then the show ends with Bryan & The Authority together in the ring after.

That has zero chance of happening, but it is what I'd like tosee. Purely because it'd be interesting to see how people react. Fans would basically begetting what they want in a backwards sort of way.

I agree I have a gut feeling Punk walking out is storyline. DB beats HHH and in the ME one of two things happens. First Bryans about to win and all the sudden a guy in a hoodie hops the barricade, puts Bryan on his shoulders for a GTS and is revealed as CM Punk (either Orton or Batista pin Bryan). Next night we find out Mcmahon hired him back. Second Bryan wins and Mcmahon comes out and like with Edge at NYR06 he says there is another match that night with a man he recently hired back and out comes Punk to beat Bryan. If Punk doesn't return at WM than it was a legit leaving of the company but I remember a while back there were rumblings that there were BIG plans for Punk at WM. I could see him, Mcmahon, HHH and a couple others knowing about the plan and them taking him off promos and making it seem like he quit was just a creative way to hide this from even crossing our minds. As I said if he doesn't come back at WM it was legit, but I have a gut feeling Punk is gonna end up screwing Bryan.

Also Punk is the perfect person to pull this off. There always rumblings of him not being happy and people buy into it.

I think WrestleMania XXX will have a positive ending. It's a celebration and a milestone for the company. Just as WrestleMania X and WrestleMania XX saw Bret Hart and Chris Benoit overcome obstacles, and win their respective matches, I think the thirtieth anniversary of the showcase of the immortals will have a triumphant conclusion. Daniel Bryan will win the title, and we will see a massive "yes" chant in the Mercedes-Benz SuperDome, accompanied by fireworks and confetti, to close out the show.

I fully expect there to be some funny business in the main event, including Triple H, Steph, Vince, etc. But, it will all be for dramatic purposes. Daniel Bryan will get his WrestleMania moment and a title win that's been coming to him since SummerSlam. It might be what's expected. But what's expected isn't always bad for business.

I will be there live and in person in New Orleans. And, I would love nothing more than to see CM Punk make a surprise return at the end of WrestleMania XXX. It would quite possibly be the biggest pop in recent history. But, unfortunately, the logical side of me says this just won't happen. Although, like we always say, anything can happen.

In terms of the other "twists," I think a Cesaro face turn is very possible. And, the Andre the Giant Battle Royal win needs to go to someone who benefits from it, i.e. Rusev, Ziggler, Cesaro, etc. It needs to help create, or elevate, a newer star.

I personally like the Idea of Punk returning at Wrestlemania, But instead of him coming out and costing Bryan the title, I can see Punk coming out and stopping HHH screwing over Bryan once again. This way Punk could easily step into feuds against HHH, Orton or Batista and would lay the ground work for a Bryan vs Punk WWE World Title match at Wrestlemania 31.

As for the Andre the Giant battle Royal, I can easily see there being a few surprises in this one. to start with I can see there being quite a few returns, With Y2J and RVD making a Return on the night and with the Ultimate Warrior and Jake going into the Hall of Fame the night before, I can see one if not both appearing in the match And as far as Wrestlemania moments go, How cool would it be to see Cesaro deliver his Swing to the Big Show before going on a winning the match.

Sting turning up is another possibility. I can see Sting turning up after The Undertaker beats Lesner and squaring up to the Deadman in the middle of the Ring before pointing at the Wrestlemania sign signaling the Icons desire to face the Phenom at Wrestlemania 31. Which for me would be the perfect time for both the Undertaker and Sting to call it a day.

I think the twist will be Sting debut,Rock and or Austin return.Punk returns in the main event or Cena starting a part-time schedule or maybe even all of the above. The way they are doing this Cena "Legacy" storyline leads me to believe they are going to have him do a storyline questioning if he still got it and taking "time off" and returning at Summerslam same thing happens until Royal Rumble.Cena loses the RR getting eliminated by Reigns but wins the EC match. He turns heel the next night setting up Cena (c) vs Reigns (RR winner) for the WWE hvt. title at Wrestlemania XXXI .I feel if this happens he will blame the fans. Also it's hard to believe Rock and Austin will miss Wrestlemania 30.This leads me to beleive they will appear in a segment with Cena and Hogan maybe even on Pipers pit.

People say the end of Wrestlemania is supposed to be a good payoff for the fans - which is what Daniel Bryan winning the title would be this year. Could the twist be that we don't get that twist and that we see Orton or Batista leave Wrestlemania as the champion, without any sort of controversial ending?

I can see the main event being a fatal fourway like everyone is saying. I can see the main event being a classic wwe style main event. Reff bumps, run ins, just wild as hell. Maybe McMahon tries to screw DB and glass shatters, Austin walks out, asthma McMahon and leaves, maybe Punk kicks someone in the head, who knows. DB walks out with the strap though.

I'm just going to say this, and I might have lost my mind. But all this Brock getting owned is kind of making me lean towards Brock having a chance to do this. If Brock doesn't destroy taker next week after getting himself beaten on again in New York, I believe the streak will end. It will be dirty and filthy and the wrong way, but I'm not sure Taker has another Wrestlemania in him, and I think the WWE will want to cash in on the streak.

Hmmm, make it look like a shoot. Make it look like Brock went into business for himself. He ends the streak. Wrestlemania 31 is Brock/Taker 2 with enormous hype. Just an idea. I'm sure it's bad because it's 2am.

Maybe a big return during the battle royal?
