Could they not do a Team North America, Team Latino, Team Euro-Asia, Team Oriental or something along those lines? Team NA would be Canadians and Americans, Team Latino would be people from Central America and South America, Euroasian could be anyone from western Asia or Europe, and Team Oriental would be mostly Japanese athletes?

Making a team TNA just makes me think of something WCW would do

The only other threads on this were the one from March and the one about Team Canada, so I figured I'd make a new one. Apparently, this is how it's gonna work:

That sounds rubbish. I was actually excited about this, but seriously. I mean, Team TNA and Team International? WTF? I really don't get what this tournament is about now. Not even going to pretend I know who half the people joining it are, that's how much I'm not bothered by this any more. The best thing that could come out of this is a Motor City push.

And Daivari? I heard he's actually not bad, but it just makes TNA look like a joke after all his crappy antics in WWE. Jesus, I hate TNA sometimes.

Sam, my friend, if you think that Daivari's whole career can be summed up with his stint in WWE, then you need to pull out the books and do some homework. This man, despite his size was a major heel in Steel Domain wrestling. He bested many heavyweights with those same antics.

But aside from that, TNA has a way of tapping into something deeper in WWE cruiserweights and recreating them. Just look at that they did with Shannon Moore, before he made the wrong choice and went back to WWE. I'm sure that they will really play up the middle east hate with Daivari and play it well as Team International will NOT just be a thrown together team, but the Super Heel team of the whole tournament. So keep your eyes open and watch how blood thirsty they will be.

Eh, you could be correct. And no, I haven't actually seen Davairi outside of the WWE. I'm not super adventurous when it comes to mixing up my wrestling but I'd imagine I'm better at it than the average WWE fan. Imagine what it would look like to them, i.e. the majority of the western wrestling audience. I'll tell you what it would look like: desperation.

As for the tournament itself, you could be right about the whole super heel group and I suspect there'll be enough spots to keep my simple arse entertained, at least more than other awful concepts like the Terrordome. However, I was expecting TNA, for all the hype surrounding this and the amount of time making us wait, to have pulled something new and big out the bag. New? Erm, check. Sort of. Big? No. Same scale World X Cup. I was expecting a good number of teams, especially if they're resorting to Team TNA and Team International anyway. Team Mexico and Team Japan are the only real teams, in my opinion. Team Britain could easily be done. They could even do Team America with indie wrestlers. Team Canada getting back together for a short time might not be a good idea, as such, but it wouldn't mean the end of the world. It just feels like TNA's being lazy.

Again.

I am extremely happy that the World X Cup is coming back. My only concern is that the way Impact is presented, I fear that many of the matches will be really short. Also, I do wonder how long the World X Cup will be: one PPV, two PPVs? It is completely different from anything that WWE is doing, and TNA is getting some great in-ring workers to do this so it has the potential to be something great. I hope they make it simple and straight-forward with a focus on in-ring wrestling instead of comedy or anything else.
