The Time of the Doctor

Not quite as self-indulgent and over-long as The End of Time, but Moffat got close.

Can the Silence/cracks in the universe/name of the Doctor/Gallifrey shit please be over? I'll take a brilliant stand-alone episode over Moffat's muddy mythology any day of the week.

Ok, ok...

With as much as you go on about this show, should I give it a another try now? Over the years I have seen about a dozen episodes from various earlier incarnations of the Doctor, but never fully dove in. The last episodes I watched were the first 2 when Eccleston was Doctor.

So should I just start with the rest of those or skip to a new Doctor all together?

Fingers crossed.

Here's hoping the new doctor doesn't face a new alien race with another "I protect Earth" speech like 10/11 did their first run.

There's a new reason to watch Doctor Who through the cracks in your fingers - because it's terrible. An hour long excuse for tying up loose ends. Well, nearly. Eleven's goodbye was decent, everything else was nearly unwatchable.

Doctor Who is shit. I only watch it because I'm too lazy to stop.

Felt that way with X Files halfway through season 6 when I wanted to shoot myself for watching still & finally gave up with good reason before 7 started.

After Dexter crapped all over itself the last 2 seasons, I dont think I can force myself to watch something I know will just piss me off. Now I dont have to waste my time with Doctor Who and can just finish the last few episodes of Boardwalk before I start something else.

I enjoyed it, but it was hilarious about Peter Capaldi's first lines being "My Kidneys, I don't like the colour". Saying that they tied up the big issue that existed in the regeneration limit.

I know that at least one story is going to be directed by Peter Jackson and it is going to have Daleks in it.

I immediately felt sick after watching it, not sure if its because it was bad, or, you know, Christmas shit.
