Yeah, that could work, I got one from what used to be my desktop (which is now just a giant paper weight). My keyboard isn't total shit right now, just needs a solid tap every now & then to get it to work right.

Breaks my heart to see a desktop used as a paperweight. There are a lot of things you could do with that to make it productive for you. How old is it?

Let me know how they USB keyboard thing goes though. A lot cheaper than buying a new laptop, that's for sure.

So my PS3 has been acting up on me. Up until a few days ago, every time I trying playing a dvd on my ps3, the system shuts down after so long. Could be immediately, 10 minutes,30 or even an hour. Its like it just rejects them. I've had my ps3 for years now and not once have I encountered this problem. It plays games just fine and even has no problems when I just leave it on. Its just dvd it seems to reject.

If anybody could help, it would be greatly appreciated.

The first thing which would come to my mind would be overheating. Is it tucked away in a cabinet? Or is it just sitting out in the open?

The other thing I would ask is if you've checked your auto-shutdown settings. There is a setting in the PS3 firmware which allows you to turn it off after a certain amount of time, if you don't interact with the PS3. Check that setting.

For power saving settings, the systems auto-off is scheduled after 3 hours of inactivity. The system sits and my T.V stand on the lower shelf next to my dvd player, not completely in-closed but also not completely out in the open.

It just strikes me a bit odd as the system has remained in that place since I've got it and its only now that this problem has surfaced. I clean it regularly(about once a month) and I don't use it as much, mostly for watching movies and games every now and then. It plays games without shutting down,well..instead of shutting down it will quit playback every so often. But dvds and blu rays it worked fine until yesterday.

Have you recently updated it? Have you tried didn't Blu-Ray and DVDs? How old is the system?

Yeah I updated it thinking it would fix the problem, it didn't. The system is one of the newer slim models and is only a couple years old.

Does it ever freeze while playing movies? Have you felt the PS3 after it shut off automatically to see if it's extraordinarily warm?

Never freezes, just shuts down. I have a few times, its warm but never hot. Sometimes it will be hot after any long session of gaming/movie periods but it still never shuts down, until recently that is.

Assuming you don't notice any strange beeping when it shuts down, or that the lights on the PS3 flash before it shuts off, it sounds like some hardware is just going bad. I don't know what else it could be.

You might call Sony and see what they can do for you.

I use a E160 Huawei mobile broadband internet card. The issue is that at times, the connection fails to respond. It's connected properly, a connection to the internet is established, but when I want to load a new page on the web the connection just sits there doing nothing and nothing. Yes it's connected, but it shows me that it just plain doesn't respond. And when it does respond, it loads pages incompletely. Such as failing to load images properly or in the case of this forum, the text just goes off to the side as if an oversized pictured was posted. It's a real problem as it cuts me offs when making posts here and such. I've uninstalled and re-installed and nothing. I checked the driver for updates and it says it doesn't have any.

The first thing we have to do is establish where the problem is.

When you can't get webpages, try to ping an IP address. Ping 8.8.8.8 (which is Google's DNS server) and see if you get a response. If you do, then I would guess your Internet bandwidth is just overloaded and you're fighting with too many people to get a decent Internet speed. If you don't, then the problem is with your connection and/or your hardware.

To ping an IP address, go into your command prompt and type "ping 8.8.8.8", only without the quotation marks.

Is there a way to watch the American Netflix in Canada?

I heard on the radio a while back about a software that you download and it tricks Netflix to thinking that your IP is American, but I can't seem to recall the name or find anything about it on Google.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My computer is missing a ton of drivers because my computer illiterate ass deleted them. Anyway I can get them without paying?

I wouldn't know the name of the software, but I'm sure you could go through an American proxy and do it.

Yes, drivers are almost always free. Sometimes computer manufacturers will even provide all of them for you if you search for your model of computer. For example, my laptop is a HP Pavilion dm4-1065dx. If I were to do that search and include the words "driver download" in my search, I might be able to find an HP website which includes all of my drivers.

The other thing you can do, if your network driver is installed, is use Windows Update. Windows Update usually carries a lot of drivers, particularly if the drivers are fairly common.

When you say you "Deleted" your drivers, I don't suppose they are still in your Recycle Bin, are they?

This sounds like a really bad piece of malware. Opera shouldn't have anything to do with it.

Were you using Opera to surf on the Internet? My guess is you came across an infected site. Have you run Microsoft Security Essentials and/or Malwarebytes?

I run Malwarebytes and i click the scan all option and then closes but when i click on the icon it says it is still running....

Maybe he should do a System Restore and turn back the calendar a few days. That would be an instant fix.
