Perez gives up two home runs in the ninth.

We are in a freaking playoff push and we can't have this imbecile in there anymore. The guy can't get three men out without giving up runs but they keep trotting him out there nad he KEEPS SCREWING UP. If we miss the playoffs because of one game, it's because of this idiot right here. Give me a break.

You know what's REALLY annoying?

Bringing in a pitcher, having him face one batter, then changing pitchers again.

These guys are professionals. have them face the next batter and quit making these games take forever.

Which relief pitcher entrance is the best?

Chris Perez's music?

My Time Is Now - John Cena.

Seriously.

That's hilarious.

Judging by how much you talk about how terrible this guy is, kb, it seems to me that Cleveland is just torturing their fans on purpose. Now I don't normally watch Indians games, so I'm only going off your posts, but it appears this guy can't do his job for shit. Why would they keep using him? Is he really their best option?

NO

FREAKING

WAY!!!
The Giambino struck again.

Surely he shall be on your postseason roster, when he can hit the baseball over the fence when called upon. Old Man Giambi is awesome.

Granted Todd Coffee running out to the Ultimate Warrior is fucking awesome. If only he found some ring ropes that he could shake on the way.

Somehow, yes he is. The only other guy who could work is a guy with a last name that I can't come close to spelling. Out bullpen has been disastourous all season and some guys make Perez look like Rivera.

So last year it seemed as if St. Louis was San Francisco's kryptonite, when SF was playing much better. Any chance of that tonight? I'm thinking no. SF can't be happy about how they've been playing thus far and I'm sure they're ready to destroy someone.

So tonight we brought Perez in with a FIVE RUN LEAD to build his confidence. So far he's given up three hits for two runs with one out.

This guy isn't getting it done, even in no pressure situations. Why can't Cleveland understand that?

There's the two run homer.

He's given up four runs in 2/3 of an inning. I've been calling for it for months now but this has to be it for Perez. Seriously, how can you possibly validate keeping him in at this point? We were up 5-1 coming into the bottom of the ninth and the tying run is at bat. That's unacceptable given how badly Perez has been this season.

Great. Now the winning run is at first. We held them to one run through eight and now they bat around in the ninth.

AND SCREW YOU MLB NETWORK FOR GOING TO THE STUDIO!!!

The Greatest of All Time just pitched for the last time. (technically it's just at home, but they probably won't pitch him in Houston, it just doesn't feel right).

Here's his last entrance and Exit.

Goodbye Mariano, thanks for the memories.

Chris Perez is officially OUT of the closer role for the rest of the regular season. No word on a replacement but Francona has said it will depend on what happens in the games.

Five guys threw scorless innings for us tonight so there are a lot of guys to pick from. Justin Masterson is a VERY intriguing option.

Henderson Alvarez has a no hitter through nine innings but the game is a scoreless tie. Marlins are up in the bottom of the ninth with a runner on third.
