I consider myself a Liverpool supporter, so I can only hope that its a good thing.
definitely disappointing. Of course not surprising. He already tested positive 2 years ago (or was it last year, I don't remember). He was also one of the 2003 positives that weren't supposed to be released but some got released anyway along with David Ortiz (not a surprise at all).Did I hear correctly? Manny suddenly retired because of the result of a PED test?
Edit: Just saw your post Trooper. Disappointing.
The writers almost certainly won't vote him in. Veterans committee is a different story.Well if Manny had any chance at Cooperstown (which he probably didn't after his 2009 suspension) he can kiss it goodbye now.

Of course the thing is in 15 years, who knows how anyone will look at the steroid era. They might finally come to their senses, and actually admit that just because the guy did roids doesn't mean he shouldn't get in the Hall.
Manny Ramirez, even with the 3 positive tests (03, 09, 11) still was maybe the greatest right handed hitter of this generation. He belongs.
No, he doesn't. He cheated the game and doesn't deserve a chance for being caught 3 different times.
When did I say Rose doesn't belong? And Rose will get in the hall. They will lift he ban and put him in posthumously.Hell, if they still won't let in the alltime hit king because of gambling they sure as hell shouldn't put in a 3 time offender.
Correction. It was not cheating until punishable tests were in place. He wasn't cheating, he was artificially enhancing his strength.

And Sosa if we're gonna use guys that have used roids.
No, he's saying Pujols is a better hitter then Manny ever was.I could just be reading it wrong. Are you implying Pujols as a steroid user?

It's close.
