FEAR THE STEEL!!!!!!!
naaaah. Jets already beat them once this season (in the Ketchup bottle no less). Not saying they DEFINITELY will do it again, but they very well could do it again, and it wouldn't be surprising in the least.

and here's something funny for you all.

1. Aaron Rodgers may have had a great game against Arizona last year but he lost that game as well. I don't want to hear about the defense letting him down. Fact of the matter is, he had the ball in his hands and he gave it up. Plain and simple.

Last year is 100% irrelevant to what's going on now. And it's not like he threw a pick last year on a bad decision he was hit by a free blitzer and fumbled the ball.

2. Out of all the analysts I've seen or heard talking about the Bears/Packers game, maybe only one (I think it was Tim Cowlishaw) mentioned that just THREE weeks ago, Chicago held Rodgers to 10 points (3 through the third quarter). What has changed since then? Rodgers had a spectacular game the week before Chicago against the Giants. He's had a good game against Philadelphia and a great game against Atlanta. Atlanta's defense ain't Chicago's defense so I give Rodgers a 0% chance of replicating that success.

Rodgers still played a solid game and did enough to win. Winning is the only part of that game that matters. If anything the game three weeks ago will help Rodgers adjust to the Bears defense. Plus, in that game the Packers had absolutely no running game. Rodgers was the leading rusher with 7 carries for 21 yards. The Packers have made it a point recently to run the ball more.

3. I laugh at how they try to discredit how much Cutler's being playing as of late. He's been making plays for the Bears as of late and the offensive line is tons better than what it was in the beginning of the season. I've heard people say Cutler will lose because he's never been in a game of this magnitude. News flash, Rodgers hasn't either.

Cutler has also made a lot of shit plays recently. Last week he had multiple passes that should have been picked off and more then likely would have been picked off against a better team. He also played absolutely horrendous against Green Bay in week 17.

I found this on /sp/.

The Our Rodgers

Our Rodgers, Who art in Lambeau
Hallowed be Thy Arm.
Thy blitzes deceived,
Thy yards received,
on ground as it is in air.
Give us this day our daily dragons,
and forgive us our dropped passes,
as we forgive those who decide to hate against us,
and lead us not into bandwagoning,
but deliver us to Dallas. GO PACK

that's why the story I linked says he WILL demand a trade, and the story also says that he would even play the retirement card.

So basically he'll pull a Favre...

in all honesty they should trade him, it's not working for either team, and worse case scenario if they finish last next year they'll be in prime position to pick up Andrew Luck in the Draft, trade him and go after someone like Hassleback

Am I the only one watching the hockey game on NBC right now, great fucking game so far

Hossa scored on a penalty shot!!!, first time I have ever seen someone score on a penalty shot

Palmer for Hasselbeck. Bam. Done.

Good trade for both teams I think. Palmer with Pete Carroll, Hasselbeck gets a fresh start.

No, I was catching up on NFL Networks online videos previewing the AFC Championship Game. It's FOOTBALL Sunday after all.

really? Do you not watch shootouts, which are just penalty shots, and are even called that?

And Its pretty common to score on penalty shots, actually.

Carroll has already gone on record saying that the most important part of this off season for the Seahawks was resigning Matt Hasselbeck so he could be the starter next season. The Palmer/Carroll reunion would be intriguing but I don't see it happening unless the Seahawks can't resign Hasselbeck for whatever reason.

Josh Freeman has an awesome fro going. Thought I'd point that out.

Packers are also 2.5 favorites. A tad surprising to me. Guess it shouldn't be. They've been on a hot streak since the Giants game.

I love Josh Freeman, next to Rodgers he might just be my favorite young QB right now

Oh well. So close once again. Hopefully third time is a charm. The Jets will be back once again and maybe we can actually play at home.

Even though my Jets are not in the Super Bowl, I am pumped. I like Aaron Rodgers and off the field issues aside, I've been a Big Ben fan since he was in college. On top of that, both teams are just about even and I dont have a clue on who is going to win, which means it should be a great game.

Oh, and Jay Cutler has a torn MCL. Now all the assholes who are saying he bailed on the team can shut up. Now I'm no doctor, but I think that means he might miss the beginning of next season.

Yes, thery should shut up. However, no, he shouldn't miss any time next season. Generally surgery isn't required for torn MCLs, and he'll be able to go in a few months. Not in a few plays like everyone wants.

The guy tried to play on it (he got injured late int he 2nd quarter, and played the opening series of the 3rd quarter), and couldn't be effective, and as such got pulled by the Trainers and coaches because he didn't give his team the best chance to win. Don't know what you want him to do.

Wasn't it a few years ago when a bunch Jets players were pissed at Favre for playing hurt at the end of the season for that very same reason?

Favre had a torn Biceps tendon, and his inability to make all the throws was what hampered the Jets after an 8-3 start, where 2 wins would have gotten them in the Playoffs (they managed to steal a game from Buffalo after the injury thanks to poor playcalling by Buffalo). In the offseason, he had it fixed by James Andrews. The players might have been pissed that Favre might have put his streak ahead of the good of the team (he didn't do it this year thank God), and Mangini never actually reported the injury (he and the team were both fined for it the following season when it came out that Mangini didn't disclose the severity of the injury).

There's playing hurt, and playing injured. It's 2 separate things. Most everybody is HURT this late in the season, thanks to all the hits they take. Playing HURT takes guts, and pretty much every NFL player does it. However, playing INJURED is a whole different beast. Playing INJURED is when you have a serious problem and try to gut it out, even though you aren't near your full capabilities. Some people try it, but for the most part their play suffers, and in a bunch of cases the team is better off with another option, even if it is a lesser talented player.

Cutler was the latter, not the former. That's why I found the criticism of him to be sad.

Carson Palmer is a douchebag. I don't have a problem with him wanting to leave the Bengals. The Bengals fucking suck, but for Palmer to think that he has no part in why they suck is completely naive. Palmer is another soft SoCal QB who can't handle one bit of criticism.

Mike Brown is a dick too. I hope Palmer leaves and takes Marvin Lewis, Bob Bratkowski, the Diva Twin wideouts, and Mike Brown with him. I can't support that shit show anymore.
