The Sports Bar

Yeah that came out weird.

I'd be bothered if so many people stopped watching because of less violence/injuries. That would be sad. As in the people watch because it's violent and leave when the players' safety is protected.
I totally agree. And it really will never happen. The article I linked in my post was really spot on, when it said that back then they actually used proper tackling technique there was less of a problem. All the injuries happened once players started headhunting. Sadly people don't realize that when a player is "sleeping" (as James Harrison believes), or woozy, they have actually suffered a fairly serious injury, and usually on a play that is now (and has been for a few years) been considered illegal.

I thought Megatron was done with the Lions.

Somehow they keep reeling me back in, only for me to leave in disgust after half.

The Lions are bad. Both fundamentally, and coaching wise. I'm starting to think Schwartz just likes leaving Peterman in just to see how many penalties he can have in a game. He has brought in more of an effort, but that doesn't change the fact that they're terrible. I don't care if they don't have Stafford, they've had two chances in back to back weeks to end this streak against teams that were at least 5 games under .500 and failed. 11 penalties last week, 10 today. And a bunch against the Jets (not sure how many, but it was 10+). How a team can go 3 straight weeks with 10 straight penalties is because of a) badly disciplined players (which isn't really disputable) and b) coaching for not putting someone else in. Punish Peterman for recording a large portion of your penalties. It's not like he's that wrecking ball protecting everyone. He sucks. Schwartz is accepting these mistakes and isn't taking someone out as a punishment, which should happen.

I need to get this off my chest.

MARK FUCKING SANCHEZ!!!!!!!!

Holy shit what a game, and holy shit what a game by the QB. The D didn't have it (in the 4th quarter), the run-game didn't have it all day, The Kid was the only reason we won that game. 8-2, still the best record in the AFC.

MARK has Been GREAT this Season

Penalties are a very overrated stat when it comes to wins/losses and how good a coach is. The Ravens are 30th in penalties and have a 7-3 record. The Titans are 31st and Jeff Fischer is one of the best coaches in the league. On the flip side, the Cowboys were the least penalized team under Wade Phillips yet he was an awful coach and the team was shitty as well.

For the Lions, it's not overrated. They don't have the talent, right now, to overcome those drive killing penalties (such as the block in the back that, guess who, Peterman had in the end of the half on Burleson's big catch). It IS important for the Lions, since their talent isn't up to par with the teams they're going against.

The Lions had one penalty that killed a drive today. Most of the penalties today were very minuscule in the grand scheme of things. Penalties aren't good but don't use that as the reason the Lions suck and why you think Schwartz sucks.

No, because I'm too lazy to request a new one, and the other two are playing like studs.

Stafford does as well when he stays on the field, but it's rare occurrence nowadays.

Tell me about it. I was at the game. Or at least until my dad made us leave at the end of third; in other words, right when the good stuff started. I cant even describe how I felt when they came back.

1. How is the building? I haven't been yet.
2. One of my friends has had season tickets for pretty much his whole life. He said him and his dad left in the 3rd quarter of the Miami game in 2000, missing the Monday Night Miracle at the Meadowlands. He actually claims that he had more fun listening in the radio with is Dad then being there.
3. As I said, The Kid is the real deal, man. He's had 4th quarter/OT winning drives in 4 of 5 weeks. 3 300 games in a row (ok, 2 300+ with a 299 in the middle).

Figured out something that was good times on NCAA 2011, pretty much on a whim.

Dont even know why I went looking, but realized I have pretty athletic D-linemen. So what if im playing a southern team who runs the spread, fuck em. Lets try out a 5-2, nothing the fuck else is working.

Then, amazingly, magic. Fucking domination. Turns out its tough for the QB to make his reads and a proper throw if 3 people are crushing him on every play.

I love running the 5-2 and the 4-4 in NCAA. The blitzes in those two formations have a very high success rate and it really helps against the spread.

Shit, I haven't played NCAA in months (since 3 weeks or so after Madden came out).

I need to get back into it, and DL new rosters, so the amazing Tommy Rees can lead the Irish to a National Championship.

Speaking of which, NorCal, have you downloaded custom rosters yet for NCAA? It makes the game even better having the real players and names.

Now Leslie Frazier has the same opportunity Jason Garrett does in Dallas. Try to prove you should be the teams next head coach.

The defense hasn't been great but they haven't been nearly as bad as people think. They are 10th in the league in total defense in terms of yards given up which isn't bad. The Minnesota offense just hasn't given them any help. Only three teams have more turnovers then the Vikings and Minny is 19th in the league in time of possession, meaning that defense is on the field a lot and they aren't given much help field position wise.

He should rephrase it to the offense shouldn't play like shit.
