Rule 6.01 (6) If in the umpires judgment a baserunner willfully and deliberately interferes with a batted ball (in this case utley blatently interfered with a double play) Both the batter AND the baserunner are automatically out.

That's not what happened. This rule comes into play if, for example, a baserunner does something like intentionally kicking a ground ball away while running the bases. I didn't like the Utley slide either. I don't want to call it completely dirty because that implies intent to injure. I don't think Utley was trying to injure Tejada but it wasn't exactly a clean play either. I just don't think Utley should have been suspended because we have seen these kinds of plays countless times before with no such discipline. I'm all for them tweaking the rules during the off season to avoid these injuries going forward but to suddenly suspend a player during the postseason for something that never warranted suspension before seems unfair.

So the Cubs are actually going to the NLCS! As a life long Cub fan I know not to get my hopes up but I like this team's chances. Both New York and LA have some tough pitching but the Cubs are just on a roll. This team feels different than other Cubs playoff teams I've seen.

By the way, I suspect KB is somehow related to Kyle Schwarber. There are some similarities from what I remember. You want to confirm that KB?:icon_lol:

It's amazing how October baseball delivers compelling stories and moments every single year. This game in Toronto is really something. Too bad the fans felt it necessary to throw trash on the field. I always hate seeing that happen.

Well I've been watching baseball for a really long time, and I've never seen anything like that before in my entire life. 6-3 Jays in one of the most bizarre, but exciting games imaginable. They will be talking about this game for years and years to come.

As Brain said, unfortunate reaction from the fans there during the controversial top of the 7th inning. But all of that aside, that was unbelievably exciting.

I'm happy for Jose Bautista mainly. As a Pirates fan I remember him as a decent utility player. Nice to see his talent shining and him having a playoff run finally.

Congratulations I can't say I'm cheering for em though.

Dumb Cubs are almost out of the playoffs.

I'm pretty happy about that.

Now I can quit seeing fake Cubs fans claim they care and as a Cardinals fan it makes it that much sweeter.

The Mets played the way the Mets do. They play shit defense and are a streaky offensive team with an excellent young starting rotation and terrible bullpen.

Murphy has never been a good defensive player so no one should be surprised by errors. The bullpen has been bad except for Familia, and if Mariano Rivera can blow Game 7 of the World Series anyone can have a bad couple games. 5 days off killed the hot team and the better team won.

Kaepernick to the Jets or Eagles?

I don't think the Eagles thing is nearly as obvious as people are making it out to be.

"Oh, zone read option + fast QB = DUH!!"

Leaving out the actual most important traits to the Eagles system is accuracy, anticipation, and touch....all categories that Kap grades F- in. I do however think the threat of him taking off on backside bootlegs will help the running game a lot, and if they want to primarily be a running team, then I could see that perhaps.

I legit think the Jets would be an SB contender with him at QB, keeping his throws under 20 per game, and working zone read with he and Ivory.

This times 10,000 for 2015, but unfortunately it's impossible as they couldn't work a trade out and take on his salary with the cap. They'd have to find a way to shed a whole ton of money, which is borderline impossible without hurting the roster too much.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Greg Hardy is getting, like, super-duper suspended right??

Are you referring to the recent pictures that surfaced? If that's the case it would be the same thing as the double punishment for Ray Rice being overturned.

“He’s, of course, one of the real leaders on this team and he earns it and he earns it with respect from all of his teammates and that’s the kind of thing that inspires a football team,” Jones said.

I don't follow football enough to know if this is a well known player but I just saw the Texans have a guy named Merciuls, pronounced merciless. That's a pretty awesome name for a football player.
