The Sports Bar

Game 7 is tonight between Miami and Indiana. My heart wants the Pacers to win, but logical thinking says the Heat will win by double digits. When the Heat want to, they can simply beat solid teams by 20 pts on any given night.

What say you?

The White Sox and Mariners go 13 scoreless innings and then both get five runs in the 14th inning. Now the game is in the 16th inning. Weird stuff.

I'm not even gonna bother to get worked up about it until we know his role. According to twitter he will be spending some time at TE so who knows what's gonna happen.

Ed Werder (who broke the story) said it was to be a QB.

And he refused to do that last year, so unless something changes I doubt it'll happen.

A cbs reporter said otherwise. I believe he'll be a QB (which is what most reports are saying) but I'm not ruling out that possibility yet.

New England is the best place for him. No way in hell he can think he deserves the starting role (and the fans think the same), and he can learn from Offensive Coordinator Josh McDaniels (A//K/A the guy who drafted Tebow).

He may have signed as a QB, but if he ever wants to see the field, he needs to have a secondary position. New England isn't going to take Brady out of the game to play a little wildcat, and Tebow isn't accurate enough to run that offense. I think that Tebow might have value as a backup TE, with Gronk proving to be injury prone, they need a playmaker at the position. Tebow is a mediocre QB, but I don't think anyone can honestly say he isn't a playmaker.

Just saw the video of the butt slap that landed Chad Johnson in jail for 30 days. I don't care what you think about the guy, that was absurd. He just patted his lawyer on the ass, as football players are wont to do, and then the peanut gallery and bailiffs start cracking up. There was nothing jokey or disrespectful in the gesture at all. This lady had a Judge Judy complex.

Did he ever finish serving his steroid suspension or does retirement and a stint in Taiwan count?

He served it out as a member of the Athletics minor league organization last year. He is eligible to join the Rangers any time they want.

Doing my routine check of the Baltimore Ravens website and found this neat little article about which members of the team would make good WWE characters, to play off of Ray Rice's appearance at Raw:

I could also see Terrell “Sizzle” Suggs being an awesome character. He already loves to play the villain.

Marshal Yanda would make a great farm boy wrestler, decked out in overalls. McKinnie could be the next Andre the Giant. With the nickname "Doom," Elvis Dumervil is already a natural. Big Haloti Ngata would be a monster, body slamming everyone.

As the resident Baltimore sports fan, I couldn't help but share.

Phil Mickelson takes home the Claret Jug today after carding a -3 under par and winning The Open championship. He's the only player under par in the whole tourney.

I find Phil to be my new favorite golfer and want him to win the US Open, which will be at Pinehurst, the site of Payne Stewart's epic US Open win where he told Phil - who was runner-up - that he was going to be a father as he grabbed his head. Talk about emotions if Phil wins that one...

What idiots think Chris Perez is some great closer? I keep an eye on every game the Indians play and I can't remember the last time he went through a close game without getting close to screwing it up. Tonight we had held off the Tigers for 8 innings but Perez comes in and gives up a leadoff double, an RBI single, a few walks and then a three run homer without getting a single out.

I'm not a baseball executive but why this imbecile is still closer is beyond me.

It's so frustrating. We had you guys and then that drugged up idiot screws things up. Our response: shrug our shoulders and leave Perez in there for years.
