Joe Paterno should get his ass fired along with the AD and administrators. Basically covering up the rape of children in your locker room by prominent former assistant coaches is fucking deplorable, and they should all be fired, and the NCAA should sanction Penn State. What they did is TEN THOUSAND times worse then what USC and all the other schools get sanctioned for.

That is all.

He didn't cover it up. He followed the chain of command, which is what you're supposed to do, and why he hasn't been in any trouble at this point. Plus, the fact is, we don't have all the facts yet, so it's premature to start lashing out at Paterno right now.

If you find out of a coworker committing a FELONY, do you just tell your boss and allow them to sweep it under the rug? No. He was part of the cover-up because the police never got involved even though he knew of the felonious acts being committed.

Joe Paterno did NOT break the law. But the Law has nothing to do with the firing of him as head football coach. His reputation is forever shattered because of this, no parents in their right mind would allow their children to go to a Paterno system that ALLOWS THIS STUFF TO BE SWEPT UNDER THE RUG.

They allowed a pedophile to roam free for 10+ years. They allowed a pedophile to be associated with their school, AND HOLD OVERNIGHT YOUTH SPORTS CAMPS ON CAMPUS. But yeah, nobody should be fired. Give me a fucking break.

The Marlins are going to be spending money this offseason. They have a new building, new manager (Ozzie Guillen), and even a new name (Miami Marlins).

Reyes would be a good fit on the team(they'd move Han-Ram to 2nd), and in the large hispanic community with the popular hispanic manager. I think the best fit would be Fielder, IF they would be willing to also go big on Han-Ram when he reaches free agency.

That's the thing though... they didn't find out anything. It was he said-he said, and it didn't come from a kid, but a guy claiming he witnessed something.

Joe knew the guy for 30 years, and I'm positive Sandusky profusely expressed his innocence. That combined with the fact that the Athletic Director's investigation didn't lead anywhere (and if it did, he most likely kept it away from Paterno), why would Paterno go to the police? He didn't witness anything... he just heard something and followed the chain of command by reporting it to his boss, and it was the boss's job to find out whether the claims had any merit or not. And since he didn't, or kept it under wraps, what's Paterno supposed to do, really?

But that's the problem. They DID find things. Hence why both the AD and one of the administrators were ARRESTED FOR PERJURY. When you're caught in the showers with a 10 year old, what in the blue hell could you be doing that ISN'T illegal?

And a Grand Jury did find things. You just don't want to admit that Penn State thinks higher of their prestige then of 10 year old boys raped on their watch.

Paterno shouldn't allow the man to be on campus with children for one (that happened again in 2007). Nor should he be allowed to be associated with the football team, which he has been ever since. Nor should he be allowed on campus, which we was as recently as a few weeks ago.

They're finding out things after a 3 year investigation, and close to 10 years after the first allegation was made. I'm sure if Paterno knew then what he knows now, he would have contacted the police, but all he knew was someone making a serious allegation on a friend of 30 years. And he still reported it, figuring that the Athletic Director would look into it and figure out whether or not the allegations could be true. Obviously, Sandusky defended himself, and the AD came back to Paterno with nothing. Again, what is Paterno supposed to do?

But how do you know Paterno knew anything past that one allegation?

So, you mean to tell me if someone claims they saw your best friend do something bad, yet he strongly denied it and nothing was ever proven, you would hold it against him or her for the rest of their life? I don't think so, man.

Like most piece of shit pedos, rapist, and murderers, Jerry Sandusky did a great job hiding who he really was to his close friends and family. However, just because those people were ignorant to his disgusting ways does not mean they should be further punished also by the law.

Yeah it would be a nice move to grab Reyes. When healthy the guy can flat out ball. However I think HanRam would be moving to 3rd. I believe I read that somewhere that he would move to 3rd if the Fish brought in Reyes. Either it would be nice to see the Fish try and compete in the East.

so no one here believes there was a coverup, even though 2 people were arraigned for perjury and NOT REPORTING AN ALLEGED CHILD ABUSE, which sounds pretty much 100% like a cover-up to me and anyone else with half a brain.

And to think Paterno didn't know anything is pathetic. He runs that fucking town. No way in hell he should have allowed that man within a mile of the facilities, especially with children.

At the very, very least he should have done something when Sandusky showed up with a child to a practice in 2007, 5 years after Paterno is informed of an anal rape of a 10 year old by the man, and is allegedly banned from bringing children to the campus.

And at the very least, there is no way you can enter into another contract with the man with all this looming over the program. His contract expires after this season. He just deserves to get his old ass fired for not looking out for some retired former man instead of the welfare of a 10 year old.

And now for something completely different:

Any thoughts on Yoenis Cespedes entering free agency, where he'll end up, and whether he'll pan out?

I think he'll go small market, despite the Yankees interest. I think he wants to play, and center if he can get it, and with the Yankees outfield it seems unlikely he'd get out there for quite a while. Put him in Oakland, Minnesota, or, dare I say it, Cleveland, and he could make serious waves.

praise Jesus the Board finally did the only thing they could do.

And anyone wanting Paterno to be able to leave with dignity is stupid. He lost that right when he allowed Sandusky to continue to be a part of the university.

Hey look, the Raiders manhandled the Chargers. How anyone is surprised with that is beyond me. Right now, they are 4-5 and playing shit football. I wouldn't be surprised if they finish the season with a sub .500 record.

I believe someone here said the Chargers suck and will be beat out for the 1 playoff spot the AFC West will have. Hell, that person said they'd be out of it by the time they play the Jaguars on Monday Night Football.

You love to toot your own horn, don't you? Funny, I don't see you keep bringing up any of your predictions last year that were wrong. I can think of 3 off the top of my head -

A-Rod will be MVP (this past season)
Yankees would beat the Tigers in the playoffs
Jets would win the Division/Super Bowl last season.

Oh my, suddenly you're 1 for 4. Good work, champ.

I wouldn't say they manhandled them, they beat them by one TD, after nearly blowing a 17-3 lead. SD cameback & scored 2 TD's late in the 3rd qtr. & had a chance to win the game. Raiders beat SD, but I wouldn't say they "manhandled them" at all, maybe you could make that argument for the first half but that's about it

The trenches were owned by the Raiders. Part of that had to do with McNeil going out in the 1st, but all of the Chargers seemed to get hurt. Michael Bush pretty much ran wherever he wanted.

I still wouldn't count them out, though. The division is so bad that 8-8 or 9-7 might just do it. The Raiders schedule is about as tough, and while Palmer seems to be getting more comfortable, they still have the top 3 NFC North teams, the Chargers and Chiefs again, and two cross country trips to Minny and Miami. If the line can't protect Rivers they don't have much of a chance, but nobody should be counted out in this division.

Chargers could still easily win the division, they're the most talented team, they just consistently find a way to shit their pants every week.
