The Rock vs.

#SAWFT

Pre-Show Stalwart
Basically what it says on the tin. If the Rock had one last match, on the Raw before/after WrestleMania, who would you choose to face?

If it could be anyone who's been with WWE at all?

My choice would be The Rock vs The Miz, we all hate The Miz, but it would build him up as a character if he could beat him cleanly.

Shane O' Mac, would be good to see him getting rock bottomed again, preferably with JR screaming Rock Bottom Rock Bottom Rock Bottom, then finish him off with the most electrifying move in all of sports entertainment, the peoples elbow

With the current situation as it is, if the Rock is going to have a singles match against anyone at the moment, it'd have to be John Cena, wouldn't it?

I know this is who you would like to see him face and I would definately love to see a one on one Rock vs Cena. One of the very few dream matches we have left in the wrestling world. The crowd would be insanely hot and it would be one for the WWE 'history books'.

It constantly plays out in my head that Rock goes for the peoples elbow and Cena rolls out of the way and Rock hits the mat and Cena lock in the STFU while he's down getting Rock to tap. I don't think Rock would beat Cena, although I would like to see that, I just don't think Cena would lose to Rock. I mean, it's John Cena.

It would have to be The Rock vs Somebody that The Rock can beat. Going into 'Mania they wouldn't want to kill any Rock momentum. Maybe have The Rock v. Alex Riley or The Rock vs Orton and have CM Punk distract him

The only match-up that I could get excited about would be John Cena. He's the only guy on the roster who is a big enough name to headline a PPV with Rock AND it would make sense for him to wrestle him. I mean, yeah, you've got HHH and Undertaker who could work a match with Rock and sell it, but I've seen HHH and Rock wrestle enough to where my kids will never want to see that match-up again, and (as big a mark as I am for the guy) Undertaker can barely go, anymore. If the Rock were going to have one last match, it'd have to be Cena.

The Rock would have to lose to Cena to pass the torch just like when the Rock beat Hogan. I would like to see the Rock win, but I can't see that happening unless he plans to stay a little longer which I do not think will happen.

Since inevitably, Rock will get involved at Wrestlemania, whether it is as the Special Guest Referee, or comes in after a ref bump, I think he will Rock Bottom both Cena and Miz, then, either leave the ring, or count the winner.

With that being said, I'm going to make a prediction as to what will happen with Rock(assuming he is signed for after Wrestlemania, and not just up to it).

Obviously he is going to interfere in the match at Wrestlemania and my prediction is, at Backlash(is that still the PPV after Wrestlemania?), im saying he will team with Cena to take on Miz and Alex Riley...him and Cena will bury the hatchet long enough to take out Miz and Riley, and if we are lucky, Michael Cole too.

After this match, Cena will turn on Rock, just like HBK did to Hulk Hogan a few years ago, and they will have a match at Summerslam, but, with Cena winning, and them shaking hands after the match.

Basically what I'm saying is, I see this playing out just like HBK/Hulk Hogan a few years ago.

I think that would be amazing! Rock "assists" Cena get the win and title off of Miz at WM27. This makes all 3 guys look good. Cena wins, Miz loses but still looks good because it took both Rock and Cena to beat him. Then having a tag match between Rock/Cena vs Miz/Riley can still have Miz and Riley getting a major rub and even possibly getting the win because the ego's of Rock and Cena can't coexist, think Mega Powers Hogan and Savage. Then it builds to a title match between Rock and Cena at Summerslam, where Cena goes over Rock and he and Cena bury the hatchet for good and you get the handshake and torch passed, etc.

Then you can have Miz come after Cena again later in the year at Survivor Series or something like that for the title again.

If the Rock was going to have one more match, it would need to be a big money dream match that no one has seen before. The only person with a big enough name that the Rock has not wrestled yet is John Cena. It is the only match that makes sense for Rocky's "One last match".

I'm not saying theres any chance of this happening but how bout Rock and HHH as a tune up match for HHH. That was one of my favorite feuds back in the day DX v. the Nation Rock and HHH battling for the IC title.

i think it's funny that nobody thinks the Rock will turn heel at Wrestlemania and help Miz defeat Cena to keep the title.

think about it... They are trying their damnedest to put Miz over with great success so far... so why have Cena win the title YET again at the PPV when it benefits them greater to have the Miz win?

They already will have The Undertaker going over HHH...Lawler going over Cole (or whoever)...

It's not going to hurt WWE in the slightest to have The Rock turn heel as they don't have a TON of merchandise tied up in him right now.. just a couple of shirts.

Cena has been running his mouth quite a bit in the past few years about The Rock.

It would be unbelievably unexpected (however not unbelievable) to have someone like The Rock turn on his fans. It's not like it's gonna hurt his career.

So that's what I see... i see Cena and Rock working together until Cena gets a Rock Bottom out of nowhere giving Miz the pin. BAM... Miz gets a serious rub.

I know it's been done before. But seeing the Rock vs HHH would be great. They had an epic feud when Austin was sidelined back in 99. Just my opinion. Or Rock vs Orton. Cena vs Rock is bound to happen at some point. Why else would Cena "Rap Diss" him last Monday?

I honestly think that we are going to see a repeat of wrestlemania 14 when tyson ended up siding with austin. i think rock is gonna end up siding with cena and raising his hand in the end....but since im prolly the biggest Rock mark u'll ever see, i dont even care if he steps into the ring with hornswoggle, just as long as he wrestles wun more time lolz

If Rock was going to have one more match it would deffinitly have to be against Cena. There is noone in the WWE as big as Cena right now that the Rock can face. Would deffinitly like to see this match happen, but sadly it probably wont.

Well the obvious choice is John Cena, but if I had a magic wand I would love to see Rock/Austin 4 at Mania or Rock vs. HBK at Mania! A feud between The show stopper & the great one would have been epic on so many levels & I really thought I was going to see this match one day. But nooooooo The Rock's last match had to be w/Foley getting there butts bashed by Evolution. :disappointed:

I always wanted to see Rock vs. Orton (the two biggest third generation superstars) and Rock vs. HBK. The latter may not be possible now though... but those have been my two for quite awhile and the Rock said in 2008 on the HOF ceremony he wanted to fight HBK so..

I'd like to see him fight a couple of fresh faces too and as far as Cena, yeah, that's the most apparent match right now. Which is alright I guess, makes sense. BUT---> If they DO fight Cena will get MAJOR heat unless Rock is heel going in, even then. Similar to how Rock got heat at WMX8 only probably worse. What do ya'll think of that??

I like your thinking, coming up with something different

First I wanna say, I agree with one thing here. Miz winning, though I wouldnt want it to go down like that, Cena DOESNT need to win and can still look good

He's only lost WM24

Anyway there is ONE reason I want to see Cena lose and Miz win and that's Morrison, who needs to win MITB, and cash in THAT NIGHT (a first) and beat Miz after Cena loses to Miz

Miz looks good with a rub from Cena, and Morrison finally ascends to the World title and being a constant main event player

THAT would be awesome to have a first time WM Cash in and elevate a star while putting over your champ before his lost to a cash in

Cena wont be hurt and can then or at some point take a Rock Bottom, maybe even Cena gets confrontational with Rock, Miz or Riley shoves Cena into Rock and then BAM! Rock Bottom

actually yeah, I like this, Rock Bottom to Cena, Miz pins Cena
then Rock ends up laying out Miz & Riley, Rock Bottom to Riley, Spinebuster & People's Elbow to Miz

then Morrison comes out, cashes in, hits The Starship Pain as Miz would be in that position already

and wins! The Rock raises his hand!

Now that actually seems logical, I think ppl could enjoy that, even though Cena loses, they would be happy

and Rock/Cena has more intense build leading to their match (which awesomely is getting a 1 year build) at NEXT YEAR'S WrestleMania in MIAMI

It wont happen this year!

So, that is what WWE should do, and from the looks of things, it could, everything is already in place for that

Morrison being in the MITB Match is the only one that makes sense right now anyway, and he and Miz have a history

Also, Bret Hart lost the title to Yokozuna at WrestleMania IX in 1993

WrestleMania 27 is the 18 YEAR Anniversary of that!

Why does that matter?

because it was the only WrestleMania to have two WWE title matches! And Miz holds what? Not the World title, the WWE title, the exact championship!

After Bret lost to Yokozuna Hogan was challenged and he won the belt from Yokozuna, this would be awesome to have history repeat itself in a different light 18 years later!

Cena being in Bret's place with Miz beating him (the only difference here being the champ retains and the ppl would be unhappy- and being a new situation shadowing 1993, it should be different)

then Morrison would be in Hogan's shoes (once again, different than 1993's situation) being the one to issue the challenge though not recieve it!

This is too fucking huge for WWE to miss and if they do drop the ball on this 18 Year opportunity I'll be jaw dropped. It's too perfect and Miz/Morrison have a history and the beauty of this is that all of that is as it is without WWE having had planned it this way in advance. This opportunity just recently became an option late last year

Ever since Miz became champion all I've been thinking about is this and 1993's WMIX

It's too perfect to not do it at WM27, that's all I got to say

because as it relates to The Rock, he and Cena will meet next year in Rock's hometown (Rock/Hogan type crowd split with a Rock/Austin WM17 situation but Rock having the homefield advantage)

it's too big to be a Summer Slam match, they could have The Rock 'N Sock Connection vs John Cena & ??? @ SummerSlam though and Team Rock vs Team Cena @ Survivor Series and after being 1 and 1 in team vs team format then finally go 1 on 1 in their last match @ WM28

That's what I would do!

(Rock being at Tribute to the Troops is something I cant wait to see this year on a side note)

Wade Barrett would be my pick... he would benefit from working with the Rock on the mic and would also be a strong physical match for The Rock... it would allow Rocky to have the win while giving Barrett the rub to be his eventual successor... Of the current Roster, Barrett is most like The Rock's early character... strong on the mic and an emerging talent in the ring.

While I would love to see it... i just don't know if Rock/HBK would really be that good of a match. it would be Michaels carrying it the entire time.

:wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf: Michaels carring The Rock in a match :lmao::lmao::lol: when the hell has The Rock needed to ever be carried in a match. He does the the carring as well as HBK does in most his matches. I'm not sure why you would think HBK would ever need to carry the Rock, there both pretty fast pased in the ring so this match would be bananas. I can hear the crowd now going nuts over all the spots from HBK & all the show boating the both of them would bring to the match.

I can't lie, I too wanted to see a 3rd generation showdown between The Legend Killer & The Peoples Champ!!!

The only way I see Cena not getting heat is if he dropped the SuperCena act & be the Rapper again & the Rock would also have to be a heel & sell the fact that he doesn't give a damn about the ppl & that he gon leave again after him & Cena's match. If Rock say's something like after I whoop Cena's ass I'm gone for good this time & the hell w/u ppl he should get booooed pretty bad, which would put Cena over real well!!!

Two guys that havent been mentioned yet first Dolph Ziggler is credible . He is now a former World Champion and has main evented A number of Smackdown main events and at the Royal Rumble. I think The Rock would probaly cut some hilarious promos on Vickie and Dolph.
Secondly I could see him facing CM Punk. They have already had some war of words. CM Punk said Rock is making bad movies like The "Tooth Fairy". The Rock callled CM Punk "BM Punk" in a vignette on Smackdown a year or so ago. I think it would be a solid match too, they styles will compliment eachother.

If The Rock was wrestling his absolute last match and I could pick the opponent and it could be anyone at all, no doubt, it'd have to be The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels. Just picture the enormity of this match. Obviously the only suitable stage for this clash would be WrestleMania.

These two would put on one hell of a program. Imagine it. HBK cuts off the Rock in the middle of a promo and Rocky asks him who in the blue hell he thinks he is... Michaels retorts to be cut off by the Rock "It doesn't matter wh--" and Shawn has a response of his own. BAM! Sweet Chin Music on an unsuspecting Rock. Michaels chops his crotch and dances his way out of the arena.

While the promo work would be second to none, it'd be outdone by the match itself. I could imagine the match going down as Michales being out-manoeuvred but The Rock to start off. Rocky being just that tiny bit quicker than HBK and letting him know it. Rock has easy control to start out and goes to end it early, spinebuster and the Rock takes off the elbow pad. Off the rops once, leaps over Shawn, off the ropes again to be met with Sweet Chin Music. Michaels jumps to his feet and superkicks the hell out of The Rock. GAME CHANGER. It now becomes a beatdown on the Rock administered by Mr. WrestleMania. They head to the outside and Michaels goes for a moonsault and the Rock just narrowly avoids it. The Rock then hits the Rock Bottom on the outside and rolls into the ring. The count's at 9 and Shawn just barely makes his way back into the ring. Advantage: The Rock, just barely.

Back in the centre of the ring, The Rock sets it up and lands the People's Elbow. 1... 2... and Michaels kicks out. Stunned by this, The Rock looks around to the crowd, bewildered as to what he has to do and he soon goes back on the attack. Sharpshooter on HBK. He makes it to the ropes. Rocky, frustrated by Michaels' resilience, starts slapping him around only for Shawn to trip The Rock and apply a sharpshooter of his own. Rock gets out and we have a stand off. Rocky starts talking trash when BOOM! Another Sweet Chin Music. Shawn goes for the cover and Rock kicks out at 2 and 7/8. Michaels into the corner, he's setting up for one more Sweet Chin Music, Rock ducks it and hits the Rock Bottom. 1...2...3.

After the match, Shawn extends his hand and the two shake hands. Rock goes to celebrate in the corner and with his back turned, Shawn does the DX crotch chop and exits the ring.

While that's just how I could picture it going, you can't deny Shawn Michaels vs. The Rock would be EPIC. Screw Cena/Rock, HBK vs. The Great One is a true dream match.

Alex Riley might make a little sense, but Rock won't be wrestling a match on Raw. Not even the Raw before Mania. If he wrestles another match, it will be at a PPV, and I have to believe it would be against Cena. Several people have suggested the Rock could turn heel in such a scenario. I think Mania is a golden opportunity for Cena to turn heel. Ref takes a bump, Rock comes down and makes the 3 count. Cena gets the win, handshake, and Cena hits the Attitude Adjustment. The much anticipated Cena heel turn.
