No, not the match. Not even the rematch. Who do you like better, in each of the following categories:

1. In-Ring Ability
2. Gimmick
3. Promos
4. As a face
5. As a heel
6. Personal Favorite

For me personally:
1. Rock 2. Hogan nWo 3. Hogan no doubt, in his prime 4. Hogan 5. Hogan 6. The Rock. Just kidding. HULKAMANIA IS RUNNIN WILD BROTHER!!!

1. In-Ring Ability - Rock (not even close)

2. Gimmick - Tie (neither really had what you'd call a gimmick)

3. Promos - Rock (not even close)

4. As a face - Hogan (I liked both, but Hogan was THE face when I was a kid, and while I liked Rock as a face, I always preferred him as a heel)

5. As a heel - Rock (Hollywood Hogan was an excellent heel, but Nation Rock, Corporate Rock and Hollywood Rock were all great heel characters)

6. Personal Favourite - Rock (this is tough because I was a huge Hulkamaniac, but as I've gotten older, I think I've enjoyed Rock's work more)

So 4-1-1 in favour of the Rock, but the only two that were really decisive were in-ring and promos. Every other one was really close.

1. In-Ring Ability= Some might say this easily goes to The Rock, but let me honestly say Rock has never been anything special in ring wise in my book. So I reluctantly give this one to Dwayne, because in all honesty a head shake and a leg drop dont qualify as a wrestling moveset.

2. Gimmick- Hulk Hogan. The real American gimmick will always work because it connects with the fans and gives Hulk the opportunity to play to his larger than life persona. The Rock always seemed very one dimensional to me when it came to his gimmick.

3. Promos- The Rock easily takes this one.

4. As a face- Hogan. The nice guy routine just doesnt work long term with The Rock.

5. As a heel- The Rock. I'd say he was one of the greatest heels in the business because of the connection he had with the crowd, something many faces lose once they turn.

6. Personal Favorite- The Rock. Inside and outside the ring I think he's a remarkable person. Over the years more and more info has come out that has basically tarnished Hogan's reputation. His years away from a WWE ring have also done a great deal to expose how overrated he truly was and still is.

1. In-Ring Ability

- The Rock. In his prime, he was such an athlete. His moves were so fluid, executed so well, and was the best seller in the business at that time. Amazing on all accounts. No contest IMO.

2. Gimmick

- Hulk Hogan. Whether it was Real American, or Hollywood Hogan, both were entertaining gimmicks. To this day, I can't even tell what The Rock's gimmick was other than his Hollywood gimmick in 2003.

3. Promos

- The Rock. Regardless of what people think about him, when it came to insults, getting the crowd pumped, and the overall nature, he was golden. He cut some awesome promos back in the Attitude Era. Still does IMO. Not even talking nostalgia, but people just hate The Rock for whatever reason these days and shit on whatever he does. I won't betray one of my childhood favorites like that.

4. As a face

- Tough one here. The Rock's face run was so good, but how can you compare it Real American? You know, once again, I'm gonna go with The Rock here. When Austin was out for that year, Rock's pops got louder and louder with each appearance. People would chant "ROCKY" during his promos and always sing along with him doing his catchphrases. I've got a soft spot for Rocky it seems.

5. As a heel

- Hulk Hogan. For some reason, I never really like Rock as a heel until 2003 and he started his Rock concerts.. His heel run as The Corporate Champion was great, but I enjoyed Rock more as a face because he would sometime show heel tendencies.

Hogan looked badass as a heel. His little 5'o clock shadow, the way he would play guitar with the World Title and for some reason, I loved that whenever he started a promo, he would go, "Well ya know something Mr. Bischoff!" Chuckled at that. Hogan here. To simplify, I liked Rock and Hogan's feud when Rock was a face and Hogan was a heel. Didn't really like it the other way around a year later.

6. Personal Favorite

- The Rock. No contest for me. Rock was always second to Austin for me, but I still loved The Rock. Loved his look, the sideburns, sunglasses, crowd reactions, catchphrases, and just his electrifying appearance. This man is special.

1) In Ring - there's no contest there, Hogan was an entertainer but he couldn't put on the same quality matches that The Rock did with so many people over the years
Winner: The Rock

2) Gimmick Hulkamania ruled the wrestling universe for decades enough said, People's Champion could only hope to get to those same levels that Hulkamania did in the 80-90's only Austin came close.
Winner: Hogan

3) Promo's Hogan in his day certainly had the ability to draw in the crowd and be very powerfull promo's but Rock was the best talker of the two. IMO
Winner: The Rock

4) As A Face Hogan hands down, well not so much in the last decade but up until he left WWE for the last time he was hands down the greatest face the company ever had. People idolised him regardless of what he did
Winner: Hogan

5) As A Heel I call this one a tie, Hogan did more nasty stuff and was alot more hated but The Rock was so damn cocky he was entertaining
Winner: Tie

6) Personal Favourite I grew up with Hulkamania's birth and so many great memories from that era it's hard to look past but the matches were better during The Rock's era and he was a better talker
Winner : The Rock - One of the best overall entertainers PERIOD.

Rock wins 3/2 with 1 tie

I would say Hogan has had a better career but Rock was more entertaining. Hogan's charisma was off the charts but they didnt call The Rock "The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment" for nothing.

In Ring: Hogan doesnt get the credit he deserves, Rock gets a bit too much, still goes to The Rock

Promo: Both could be very good, although so much of Rock's schtick is so tired now, it's one thing to have catch phrases for the audience but sometimes I think that's all he has. I'll give this one to Rock only because he has displayed more humor while also being a tough guy, Hogan is a great tough guy, cant match Rock for humor though

Face: Hogan - Ultimate 80s Super Hero character

Heel: The best thing about Hogan's NwO heel run, other than the sheer shock of the initial heel turn, was the fact that some cheesiness aside, this was Hulk playing Hogan, going on TV and revealing it wasnt about the kids, the values, the company, or the fans, it was about him, his money, and nothing else. Sometimes the best gimmicks have a lot of the real performer inside them (Lets hope thats not true of Undertaker!). Womanizing, drinking, partying Ric Flair, the guy who truly believed ijn his mind (and he's been telling us in shoot interviews ever since) he was "The Best There Is, Was, & ever WIll Be" Brett Hart, the anti authority, speak his mind Stone Cold Steve Austin, Hollywood Hogan was a great take off on what people had been saying behind the scenes (and by the mid 90s starting to say in print) about Hulk. The Rock was great as The Corporate Champion and that was a great storyline swerve, but a wise cracking arrogaunt jerk heel Rock wasnt much different than Rock as a face. Both very good though. Still, Im going with Hogan.

Personal Fav: Actually, there a lot of guys I like more than these two. I'll take Rock but I have to admitt Hogan's backstage rep plays a part in that.

1. In-Ring Ability
I have to give this one to The Rock though I am one of the people that thinks The Rock has been a bit over rated in the ring.

2. Gimmick
Hogan takes this one for me. You can't beat his Real American gimmick at the time. Hogan and his gimmick were so over at the time.

3. Promos
Rock takes this one. Face heel it doesn't matter. His promos were some of the best ever.

4. As a face
Hogan during his run might have been the best face ever. The fans went absolutely nuts ever time he came through the curtain.

5. As a heel
The Rock for this one. I liked his heel runs as much if not more than the face runs. He connected with the crowd just as well as a heel, and could really get under your skin at the same time.

6. Personal Favorite
Hogan for me. I was a diehard Hulkamaniac as a kid, and he had that cool factor when I was a teen and he was in the NWO. Hogan is an all time favorite of mine.

1. In ring ability. The Rock. Hogan never actually revealed his full arsenal in the ring because it wasn't part of his character. So even though it's common knowledge to the people who know about Hogan's very early days training to be a wrestler that he did learn to be pretty much unbeatable in every way he never showed it to us so I can only go with what I've seen and that is that the rock appeared much quicker and more athletic in the ring.

2.Gimmick. I'm going to call this one a tie because Hogans gimmick as a face in wwf was what made me start watching wrestling. When I'd tired of Hogans gimmick, particularly when he decided to once more lace up the yellow boots in wcw after being pure gold as a heel I just wasn't feeling it so I actually stopped watching wrestling - but The Rock made me start again, his "know your role jabroni", "it doesn't matter what your name is" gimmick had me hooked once again and I was a Rock fan, T -shirts and all.

3. Promos. Hogan because he almost invented them and made people listen. "let me tell ya sumthin Mean Gene!" was a part of every kids vernacular back in the day. As a heel his promos were funny because they were true no matter how arrogant and that was the point.
I'm really torn up to not say The Rock on promos too because he was a breath of fresh air and funny as fuck, but the way Hogan was a able to do a total back flip of character and start the nWo on the back of a promo is where I draw the line.

4. As a face. Hogan. His face character got the ball rolling for wrestling world wide, starting a snowball effect resulting in us all being fans today- including The Rock.

5. As a heel. Hogan. His heel character was a little bit more risque in its time than The Rock's. People liked The Rock as a heel, thats how he got his fans so he wasn't a heel in the true sense of the word. When Hogan became a heel, people truly hated him and felt betrayed by him. Not me though, I thought he was fucking hilarious. The way he boasted about beating sting in the middle of the ring (which he did) after losing the belt to him at Starcade was a new height in egotism.

Personal favourite? Well I love them both but for loyalty sake just because he was my first favourite I'm going to say Hogan. Hollywood Hulk Hogan the real triple H.

In Ring Ability- Hogan has alot more that 5 moves of doom and anybody whos watched his matches from japan will agree, however he still looked stiff and awkward doing it so ill give this one to the rock because he was much more athletic and polished in ring performer.

Gimmick- Hands down Hogan gets this, arguably without hulkamania WWE doesnt exist today.

Promos- Rock easy, while Hogan has some pretty intense promos throughout his career they sometimes didnt make any sense whereas Rock was always on the money, he destroyed pushes with his promos (Billy Gunn) dude was on fire from 98-01

As A Face- Hulk Hogan, greatest face of all time

As A Heel- Hollywood Hogan, greatest heel of all time

Personal Favourite- I love em both but i gotta go with the first one from my childhood, Hulk Hogan BROTHER
