The Pointless Thread

I said IF Garrard has another good year and Ben struggles, Yes I would then take him over Ben...

I'm not arguing over this anymore. This is just going to go in circles.

It is BS, ESPN spends more time on the Yankees than the any Boston team...Shit, with the way they covered the super bowl you be shocked the Patroits were even in it.

The Yankees are in the East genius, and the Pats/Eli Manning were shoved down our throats more than any Super Bowl I can remember.

Finchy, every point you just made I have pretty much already countered in the previous pages, so you should read it. A win/loss record for one year doesn't tell you shit, Eli Manning won the superbowl last year, is he the best quarterback in the league because he had the most success? Hell Trent Dilfer led the Bengles to a Super Bowl, is he one of the all-time greats? The answer in NO! THERE IS A THING CALLED DEFENSE on football teams you know, and the Steelers have one of the best defenses in the league, that is why the steelers won more games than the Bengles, not because the Big Ben is better than Palmer.

You are comparing apples to oranges cage! That whole Dilfer thing has been put to sleep let it rest. First it was the Ravens he was the QB of and not the BENGALS! You can't compare what Eli did to what Dilfer didn't do. The fact is they are two different situations and teams, Dilfer didn't lead his team to anything that was his defense not him, all he had to do was NOT lose. Eli had to lead his team to victory, he had to take the Giants on his back and march them down the field in the last ticks of the game, he needed to help them win and Dilfer just had to not lose. There is no comparison here and you need to know the difference! That argument has been shot dead, stop trying to revive it.

Ben isn't better than Palmer and the Steelers didn't win because of him? BULL! Ben threw more TD's and less INT's than Palmer and completed a higher % of his passes than Palmer, his passes on average completed for more yards than Palmer and he had one of the highest QB ratings in the league. Get your facts straight, Ben outplayed Palmer and the Steelers won because he had a great year across the board. Not forgetting he his more mobile and can extend plays better. Ben > Palmer.

Because they obviously are. Everything is covered in the East or about a city in the East.

How? They aren't. At all. I watched Sportscenter last night, they spent maybe 5 minutes maximum on the Red Sox home opener where they recieved the World Series rings, then proceeded to spend the same amount of time talking about the Tigers struggling. Last time I checked Detroit wasn't in the East.

Brett Favre's retirement was covered nonstop, Green Bay isn't on the east coast last time I checked.

It's fucking bullshit, you have zero proof that ESPN is biased, nor do you even have an explanation. Because they AREN'T.

Maybe, just MAYBE they cover teams on the East coast because they're the most popular teams in the world? Perhaps that could be it? Not some grand fucking conspiracy to prevent the West coast from getting coverage of their team. What POSSIBLE fucking motive could they have for something so incredibly stupid?

ROFLCOPTER.

That's all they talk about is the Sox/Yankees. Hell you can be watching Brewers/Cubs and thats all the commentators talk about. ESPN is heavily east coast biased. Anyone that watches their program knows that.

Do you even watch ESPN? Appparently not, because they talk about MANY teams from BOTH coasts just as much as they do about the Sox or Yankees. You're kidding yourself if you're saying otherwise.

If they're so East-Coast biased, where is all this Orioles coverage? Blue Jays? Braves? Marlins? Devil Rays? Washington Nationals? Didn't think so.

Maybe, just MAYBE ESPN covers the most popular and the most talented teams in the league more then others? Perhaps that could be the explanation instead of some long drawn out conspiracy by Walt fucking Disney as to how to best prevent Padres fans from getting their fill of sports news.

If I wanted to watch unbiased sports channels, I'll watch CBS Sports and FSN

CBS Sports and FSN are both absolutely pathetic sports networks. They're sports columnists shows are garbage. ESPN is the way to go for a reason; they have the best EXPERTS on sports in the country.

How is ESPN biased by the way? Even if they do spend more time covering east coast teams, how exactly does that make them biased? It's not like they're saying "Boy I hope you Yankees really give it to them Angels, I love the Yankees" or something to that effect. The very closest you'll hear is the guy on Baseball Tonight who makes some Red Sox references, because, wait for it: He's from New England and is a lifelong Red Sox fan.

What a fuckin' biased criminal that guy.

Please. Saying ESPN is biased is fucking stupid and you've got nothing at all to substantiate it other then a bunch of people bitching that their favorite teams aren't covered enough on ESPN.

Funny how fucking jagoffs from the East are the only ones in the whole US that will not claim that ESPN is biased towards the East.

Fucking hysterical.

Now onto something of a better importance than a biased network. Fucking Pens are up :(

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

How exactly is this going in circles? To my knowledge this is the first time this has EVER been discussed here.

Or maybe you just have absolutely no way to substantiate your claim that ESPN is East-Coast biased?

Yeah, and it's funny how fans of garbage teams that get no coverage because nobody gives a fuck are always the ones complaining about "East-Coast bias" on ESPN.

You are comparing apples to oranges cage! That whole Dilfer thing has been put to sleep let it rest. First it was the Ravens he was the QB of and not the BENGALS! I am guessing you have not read the last couple pages, were I actually went into deep analysis on why I think Carson is better than Big Ben.

When it comes to Eli and Dilfer, that is in response to the fact that a teams success makes one QB better than another, which somebody was arguing for earlier, that was there point to support Ben. I was pointing out that a teams success doesn't make one QB better than another, those are two examples.

When it comes to the whole stats thing, the fact that Big Ben played on a much better team didn't have anything to do with it? One year in football, one sixteen year season doesn't tell you anything. I really dont feel like arguing about this anymore, it is pointless, Steelers fans will be Steelers fans, so if you want to understand my argument and comment about it, read the last couple pages of this thread, that is were my argument is!

It'll go in circles because every argument does.

Now, you can argue with anyone else about it. Because A) I don't give a fuck.

B) I'm too lazy to type Will paragraphs and

C) I'll be logging off in about 30 minutes when we get blasted with more tornadoes.

So go argue with someone else over anything. Like I said, if I actually gave 2 shits, I'd debate but I don't. So there.

Cage don't listen to DIAR. He's the biggest fucking hypocrite on this board and used your same argument about a month ago.

You haven't been around long enough to know about his bullshit hypocrisy.

AKA You have nothing to say in response to what I said, because you know you're full of shit.

When I watch they spend more time on non-east coast teams.

Brett Favre's retirement was covered nonstop, Green Bay isn't on the east coast last time I checked.

Bingo. And they praise Kobe and The Spurs as well in BBall. Not east coast.

It's fucking bullshit, you have zero proof that ESPN is biased, nor do you even have an explanation. Because they AREN'T.

There is no proof, they cover all teams and during some years they even covered the Heat more than most.

None. And to further this they covered Bonds to death and seem to cover the Angels and Dodgers, all 3 are west coast.

Do you even watch ESPN? Appparently not, because they talk about MANY teams from BOTH coasts just as much as they do about the Sox or Yankees. You're kidding yourself if you're saying otherwise.

They talk about the Yankees more than Boston, but based on them it's Red Soxs TV, which is false because I can go days without seeing one story on them. They covered the Marlins more than Boston a few days ago.

If they're so East-Coast biased, where is all this Orioles coverage? Blue Jays? Braves? Marlins? Devil Rays? Washington Nationals? Didn't think so.[/quote[

Isn't the orioles and Nationals on the east coast? And its just Rays now. But I agree, they cover the Giants, Angels and Dodgers a ton.

Maybe, just MAYBE ESPN covers the most popular and the most talented teams in the league more then others? Perhaps that could be the explanation instead of some long drawn out conspiracy by Walt fucking Disney as to how to best prevent Padres fans from getting their fill of sports news.

Or how Angels fans never seem to know who is winning..And why do they praise the Red Wings and Pens so much?

CBS Sports and FSN are both absolutely pathetic sports networks. They're sports columnists shows are garbage. ESPN is the way to go for a reason; they have the best EXPERTS on sports in the country.

And CBS and FSN are bland and boring as hell.

You and I already proved they don't. The Red Soxs don't get half the time other teams to, and the Spurs and Lakers are their darlings. The fact is ESPN loves to see the Knicks fail and rubs it in.

Please. Saying ESPN is biased is fucking stupid and you've got nothing at all to substantiate it other then a bunch of people bitching that their favorite teams aren't covered enough on ESPN.

You have already won xfear, no need to go around in circles with him.

Fine, give one too me. Think I give a shit?

He baits me one more time and he's getting one. Regardless, he's done it to Justin and many others in the music sections already.

When it comes to Eli and Dilfer, that is in response to the fact that a teams success makes one QB better than another, which somebody was arguing for earlier, that was there point to support Ben. I was pointing out that a teams success doesn't make one QB better than another, those are two examples.

And I showed you why Ben outplayed Palmer. I didn't mention the team but how each played.

When it comes to the whole stats thing, the fact that Big Ben played on a much better team didn't have anything to do with it? One year in football, one sixteen year season doesn't tell you anything. I am not a steelers fans and back the Patriots for years now. This isn't one season Ben has played well, but multiple years.

Fine, give one too me. Think I give a shit?

He baits me one more time and he's getting one. Regardless, he's done it to Justin and many others in the music sections already.

And you have baited me and others as well. You think I haven't seen your baiting of me? I want to know why you think his post crossed the line and yours didn't? Answer me that.

Oh please, your a bandwagon jumper.

Stop baiting ok? Calmdown and relax, no need to do this. And if I am why do I still hate the Giants and Spurs? They won and win so I must like them. I don't, I am a pats man and a lakers one and will stay that way. I have been a Lakers fans for 18 years. Just calmdown.
