The Pointless Thread

Yup.

For being the leagues most popular team, it seems to bring alot of jealousy upon others.

Jones discussed his six arrests since being drafted, his chances for reinstatement and where he might end up if he gets the OK from commissioner Roger Goodell.

Irvin, a former Cowboys star, jeopardized his eventual Pro Football Hall of Fame induction with sordid off-the-field problems involving strippers and substance abuse. Irvin once admitted that he thought his actions cost Dallas at least one Super Bowl, if not more.

"I think he's more comfortable knowing I've gone through some stuff," Irvin said during his show on KESN-FM in Dallas-Fort Worth.

Jones was the first defensive player drafted in 2005 with the sixth pick out of West Virginia, and he was Tennessee's best defender in 2005 and 2006.

But Goodell suspended Jones for the 2007 season for his off-field conduct. Jones settled the last of his criminal charges Feb. 14 by entering a plea to obstruction of a police officer in Georgia, which left him with a felony conviction.

Jones had agreed to stay out of strip clubs, but went to an Atlanta club Jan. 3, prompting Goodell to send Jones a letter in February barring him from working out at Titans headquarters. The commissioner also said Jones would be reconsidered for reinstatement before training camp.

The Dallas Morning News, citing an unnamed source, reported Friday that Dallas and Tennessee have held preliminary talks about a trade. The source told the newspaper that the Titans have acknowledged a trade is the best way for Tennessee to turn the page on its troubled player.

Arora, who is also Jones' agent, prefers that his client be traded before the two-day NFL draft begins April 26.

Detroit and New England, which were previously reported as possible trade destinations for Jones, have said they are not interested in the former West Virginia standout.

Jones told Irvin he hasn't talked to Goodell but is confident he'll be reinstated.

"As long as I keep doing what I'm doing, I will get reinstated," Jones said.

Jones said he's working hard to make good decisions, such as steering clear of some relatives he grew up with.

"It's like I'm on a cliff right now. Any slip-up and I'm off the cliff," said Jones, who said his relatives understand that he needs to "separate himself" from some people in his past.

Jones' suspension can't stop the Titans from trading him, which is where the Cowboys speculation comes in. Titans coach Jeff Fisher has repeatedly said that the team has "moved on" in regard to Jones.

And Jones is hoping Cowboys owner Jerry Jones will give him a shot.

"This is where I want to be, and hope it'll work out in the long run and it'll happen real quick," he said. "It's obvious Jerry does give people a second chance. He has a great heart. Hopefully, I can get one of those second chances."

Dallas has had a measure of success bringing in players with troubled pasts.

The Cowboys trace much of their Super Bowl success in the 1990s to plucking unhappy pass rusher Charles Haley out of San Francisco.

But the best example is current receiver Terrell Owens. After his stormy tenure in Philadelphia ended with a suspension and release, he came to Dallas and has been one of the league's most productive receivers the past two seasons.

Jones said Owens gave him a ringing endorsement about Dallas.

"He said it's a great city as long as you keep your head straight," Jones said.

Hmmm..Interesting.

Can we go back to having American Football being banned from in here?

I suggested making another thread for that a "Pointless Sports Discussion Thread" before, but then everyone jumped all over my ass, and said we didn't need one cause nobody would post in it, I still think it would be a good idea personally

Hey, don't forget to get your vote in for which band you'd like to see in the Music Asylum next, polls close tonight

right now Foo Fighters are in the lead with 6 votes, followed by Killswitch with 4, and Tool is in third with 3 votes, and poor poor Atreyu hasn't even gotten a single lousy vote yet, LOL

Kinda surprised Tool only got 3 votes so far, figured they'd be up there with Foo Fighters

Poll update, Foo Fighters still in the lead with 6 votes, but KSE is coming back with 5 votes, Tool still stuck in 3rd with 3 votes, and poor poor Atreyu doesn't stand a chance in hell, they still have yet to gain a single vote

Common people, only a 5 and a half hours (as of this post) left to get those votes in, and give me a reason why they should be in the Asylum
