The Pointless Thread

Eh. Id say give him one more year, and then call him an elite QB. I dont think a year and a half can tell you that, one year wonders are a dime a thousand in the NFL. Another year of elite preformance = elite QB.

coming from an impartial opinion.

Meh, if your a top 5 QB in the NFL putting up the numbers and wins he does. I think you should be considered elite but that's my opinion.

Well top 5 is elite no?? LOL

and im just not totally sold is all im saying. Chad Pennington and Shaun King were damn good in limited action. One more year.

No, not one more year. He's already proven himself based on this past season. You people bitched and moaned about him being a one shot wonder after the 06 season, he comes out and has the best season for a QB in franchise history, shattered records, gone to the playoffs and you want to claim he isn't proven? Laughable.

And yes, elite in terms of talent and performance. He's not even top 5 there, he's top 3.

Wes, buddy, its ME. NORCAL. calm yourself. your starting to sound like a pittsburgh fan LOL. His first "season" consisted of what?? 7 games?? Yes, he had an excellent season, and is easily top 5 in the league right now. it doesnt change the fact that he has about 25 games under his belt. Give me consistent preformance, season in, and season out, and then I buy it. There are just TOO MANY flameouts in the NFL, all the time.

Another year of consistency. I dont think you "prove" yourself off of one good season. Not in the NFL at least.

I was one of the people who questioned Romo coming out of the 06' season. How would he handle the way his season ended, was he a one hit wonder because 6 games was not enough to tell, not to mention he wasn't great in the last couple games of the 06 season. After last year though, you can consider him an elite QB. Why? Well having one stretch of good games is one thing, sure somebody can put 6 good games together, but when they come back the next year and put up great numbers again and lead there team to the playoffs, you can call him elite. He doesn't need another year to be considered legit, he has already proved himself, he is an elite QB, give him credit for that.

so one solid year, and a playoff run make someone legit now?? I strongly disagree. And he is the 4th best QB, behind Brady, Manning, and Palmer.

In front of Brees? He's not even top 5 yet alone top 3... I give him credit, but he is by no means a Manning or Brady... Heres how I see it, If you put Romo on the Steelers and Ben goes to the Cowboys compare their stats. Romos goes below what Bens was on the Steelers and Bens goes above Romos on the Cowboys. Its because Ben is an athlete and makes the play when it counts (rushing and sacrificing his body). You know that feeling you have when your quarterback heaves the ball downfield, the ball is off the screen, and you have no clue who is intended receiver is? Well when Ben throws that pass I dont worry, when Romo throws it you get that heavy feeling... Hes legit okay, but he wont win a superbowl... Not on the Cowboys... Hope I dont eat those words in 9 monthes...

Drew Brees would be yet another guy who only had ONE really superb year. And it wasnt last year. So right now, Romo is better.

And you are from pittsburgh, and therefore are not allowed to post on the subject of Ben Roethlisberger. :lmao:

Palmer hasn't won games like Romo though, he hasn't been clutch or made the plays.

Romo is better than Palmer and even Ben is better than Palmer.

Brady, Manning, Romo, Ben, Hasselbeck would be mine. MH is one of the more consistent QB's in the NFL but gets overlooked everytime.

Romo isnt better than Palmer and Roethliberger DAMN FUCKING SURE isnt. Both the Cpwboys AND the Steelers are FAR superior in every phase of the game to the bengals. Running backs, O line, Tight Ends, defense, special teams. You name it. SO then that pretty clearly and easily shows that the two QBs from teams that are FAR better than the one Palmer is on, would have better records. a small child could figure out that logic.

better team = more wins

and Romo's first pro bowl was a damn farce, and you know it. He played 6 damn games, and didnt even do well down the stretch.

He's had 2 pro bowl years, not 1.

And McNabb has made the Pro Bowl with years on par with what Eli has done. And is him making the pro bowl that 1st year really that impressive? Look at the talent in the NFC at that position.

And don't criticize that logic because you used the same to disrespect the season Jose Calderon is having.

He played 10 games, and played then all very well. He was very deserving of the Pro Bowl with the numbers he put up, and the way he single handedly made Dallas a winner and the offense so much better. Much deserved, there wasn't anyone better for the 3rd slot.

And agreed on Palmer, he has lots of potential but he hasn't won shit. Not even in the regular season, he's too inconsistent for my liking. He goes anywhere else other than Cincy, it would do him wonders.

Damn you I said that! And he started 10 and played in 11. 14/25 for 227 yards 2 td and 3 int in a 36 -22 loss against new york.

Yes, if he played fantastic like Romo has. I don't even remember that far back because now it isn't important.

What are you talking about? Calderon isn't even on par with Parker. Tony is better, plain and simple. You should know that, and basketball is COMPLETELY different than football when it comes to logics.

Well, then that has no bearing on how good he is. You sound like the Romo haters right now Wes lol. The bengals are absolutely terrible. In everything. So yea, Palmer probably wont win a whole ton of games LOL. Doesnt mean he isnt top 3 QB. The wins thing is severely overrated. This is fucking football, not golf. There is NO sport in the world that relies more on a TEAM. Look at all the teams that have won the Superbowl recently. most of them are becuase the overall team stepped up.

all the way back to the ravens. the patriots teams. the steelers. the colts defense showed up in the playoffs, and thats how they got there. and the giants last year.

Get the fuck outta here with the W shit. If Romo's TEAM wouldve played better, HE wouldve won too.

Meh, Palmer can't win in the fucking regular season. If Romo had put up the years he's had but we still went 8-8, I wouldn't be here talking too you. So until Palmer does and quits with the inconsistency, too bad.

Palmer's team sucking doesn't mean he sucks, he has played well despite his terrible team. Like you said a player can have a great year on a bad team, Marino did it all the time.

I could go into why all of those teams should have lost. Even the Patriots which after further review are a tad overated as a dynasty. Yes I did say that, look at their 3 super bowl wins, they could have easily lost all 3 and if the Rams didn't play for for OT and McNabb didn't choke they would have easily lost those 2.

PALMER DOESNT WIN GAMES ALONE!!!! LOL!!! HE doesnt loose, the TEAM loses!!..The Bengals were TERRIBLE last year?? You ever see them on TV??

Add to that the fact that they have probably THE lowest team chemistry, and team character in the league. You know what happens to a team full of people with low character who dont give a fuck about each other when the chips get down?? They all fucking quit and play that much worse, so not only were they terrible to begin with, but add the character factor, and that most of them werent playing as well as they could anyway.

If anything, how good he has preformed for THAT gagglefuck peice of shit team, only PROVES how good he is.

Team sport, Palmer can't win alone. Now talk about his individual performance which he has put together 3 good years in a row.
