I think it's upon us. The ultimate heel tag team. I see it. It was a vision from god. Two men. Giants of the wrestling world.

Khali & Umaga​

Anybody else see it? Both have been on the loosing end of there feuds with Cena. Really where has Khali got left to go? I see him dominating the tag division. He's knees are apparently hurting. Putting him in a tag team makes perfect sence. Umaga's a half decent worker. He can carry the lions share of the work and Khali can just come in and do the monster heel shit he struggles so hard to do. It's not like they are going to be credible challengers for a main title for a while. And It's not like the tag divison is any good. I say put them as a team. Obviously the match's wont be that great. But they would look like a huge team to beat on paper. And if a team that's not particularly over like London & Kendrick defeated them then that would be even more impressive.

That's a good idea, but who, apart from Kane and Taker, could beat them legit and go over? Nobody. Unless they plan on doing that, then breaking them up and having them turn on each other? That could work, but I guess that Umaga would turn face, at least he has a somewhat decent gimmick, and he's over. I like him a lot more than Khali. Khali, well, just blows.

They would be dominant. Just like Taker & Kane. That's why it would do a lot for whoever beat them. So long as they didn't loose there titles in a battle royal like HBK & Cena did. And Umaga is talented enough to carry the team All Kali needs to do is come in and do what he usually does for the last 30 seconds of the match.

I agree with Jake, that Umaga would do most of the work and it would be huge for whoever were to beat them. Looking at it though, the only guys who really beat Khali and Umaga are Cena and Lashley I believe. If WWE wants to keep them as "monsters" then they would probably need to get beat by two main eventers or two guys that are going to be in main events in the near future. I wouldn't mind seeing this team just for their sheer size, I like Umaga, but Khali is just way to bland. I can see Cena and someone else teaming to beat them sadly...

The sooner were rid of Khali the better!
I can't stand to watch him in the ring anymore. He has no charisma, no fan support, no moves. I mean, watching him at ONS, I was feeling bad for Cena seeing what he was given to work with. Punches missed, kicks missed, and these are just the basics.
We can't have Khali running around just because the WWE needs a big guy to fill Big Shows boots, at least he could hold a match together!

A lot of people are comparing a Khali / Umaga pairing to Kane the Undertaker. This is, simply stated, a mistake. Kane and Undertaker are both former world champions and, though they are impressive in size and stature, they aren't "monsters" in the same vein as Khali and Umaga. Also, Taker and Kane could cut promos, develop their own character, etc.

I think it is more prudent to reach back another 10-15 years to compare Khali and Umaga to Earthquake and Typhoon. You look at these two "beheamoths" as Gorilla Monsoon called them, and you'd wonder how anyone could beat them. Money Inc. found a way, and actually had a really good feud with them to boot.

The issue with wrestlers that size is, they get stale easilly and eventually become the "Goliath" to WWE's every other "David." Need an example? See Viscera / Mabel...

If the Umaga and Khali pairing could get a decent manager to do their talking for them (Estrada could work, it's a shame you can't turn the Bobby Heenan clock 20 years) then they could have a fair run, and lord knows I would LOVE to see Khali and Umaga vs Undertaker and Kane at a Wrestlemania.

Superb Idea!

Umaga and Khali could be a great team, though don't think they could do many combo moves together!.

They would allow the face teams to use the old style "can he make the tag....." tension ( though the bit where the fresh guy comes in and starts "cleaning house" is pretty rubbish and unbelievable as the other team normally have momentum that suddenly just dissapears).

The division is such a mess that it would probably be best if they had a dominant heal team in it for a while in order to build teams up again.

They would need a proper name though, Names like Murdoch & Cade or Rosie & The Hurricane aren't as appealing as even rubbish like 3 Minute Warning or The Bushwackers! How about Beasts from the East!

There are many ways in which they could evenutally lose the titles, either a new face team eventually over comes the odds, or even a 4 man team event where they don't need to get pinned, or are ganged up on by the other teams ( ala big guys getting chucked out of the rumble).

 

[The not-so Great Khali]

Agreed that this tag team could work and improve the tag division on Raw and in WWE in general. I would also have Estrada as the manager as opposed to Daivari, Vince, Shane or that translator. A couple of years ago they had Kane & Big Show in a tag team and they held the belts for 6 months before being defeated by the Spirit Squad. Another idea on how they would lose the belts is for Cryme Tyme to "steal" them, which in turn would help those guys recieve a push.

The last time I checked Cryme Tyme actually won a number one contenders spot for the tag titles before Rated RKO got them, and never actually had the match, but that's neither here nor there. I agree with what you guys are saying about Umaga and Khali helping the tag team division. I just read that Umaga is starting to hurt as well as Khali, so would it make sense to have them team up even for the fact that it's most likley less work on both of them, to not further aggrivate they're injuries???

First a couple of things.......

1. I think the tag tema division is in a heck of a lot better shape than it was a couple of years ago. You remember, the days of having singles superstars paired up just to throw something out there as a tag team. Look at the title holders back then, you had Kenzo Suzuki/Renee Dupree, Rey/Batista, and others, Edge/Mysterio, Tajiri/Regal, Regal/Eugene. Simply put they now have actaul teams in the tag team divisioneuce and Domino, Cade/Murdoch, Worlds Greatest Tag Team, London/Kendrick, Hardys, Cryme Time, Highlanders...are they still wrestling, Major Bros.

2. Umaga and Khali, already put, could neve pull off a double team finisher. The would have to have Khali do his chokeslam while Umaga climbs the ropes and does his splash for the win.

Estrada would be entertaining.

Well unless Umaga is drafted over to Smackdown on Wednesday or Khali is drafted back to Raw then thier short-lived tag team is over. In all honesty it could've worked and probably should've done but that is life. I would rather of seen Umaga being the one drafted to Smackdown instead of Khali but what the heck, if only to set up the Vince/Mysterio feud but whatwith Vince being 'dead' it looks like that ain't gonna happen now. I guess we can look forward to a bunch of exciting WrestleMania 23 rematches between The Great Khali and Kane. Praise the lord.

Actually, it would be no different than when Haku and Andre The Giant teamed together. Demolition beat them by taking Andre out of the equation and then tearing Haku apart. I can see the same thing happening with this team, if they every teamed up.

demolition was one of the best teams, they had a good size and an intimidating look in there own right, there is absolutely no team in wwe that has the presence of a demolition or LOD or steiners or dudleys or APA. thats what made the haku/andre vs demolition match pretty good IMO. so if khali and umaga did team up i could only see them dominating teams for awhile then splitting apart and fighting eachother, which is basically what every tag team does in wwe at one point or another. there is no emphasis on the tag team division, cryme tyme should have gotten a bigger push and by now they would have been heels (probly good ones)

maybe snitsky and umaga could make an interesting team, what is snitsky gonna do on raw????? fued with cena for a motnh or 2 then juss lose to him and become a shadow again, maybe back to his foot fetish, some questionable moves with this years draft

If Khali & Umage were the Tag Team Champions,
it might bring some prestige back to the the titles.
Due to the fact that they would be unstopable.

Except for right now,
a team like the hardys were always able to come through and win against a team like cade & murdoch,
I'd like to see the hardys wrestle Khali and umaga,
it would completely throw their game off.

I'm intrigued by this idea,
but at the same time, it sounds really stupid.

Y 2 Jake, you are totally on to something here. It wouldnt be a bad idea to put Khali in a tag team if it were with the right partner and umaga is a good choice. but what I'm seeing is Umaga vs. Khali. If they were tag team partners, they wouldnt be able to communicate without a translator and how many people can translate Indian/Pakistani into Samoan? Thats gotta be tough. Now I can totally see these guys facing off because it would test how well each of them can receive punishment. Who is more indestructible?

As a tag team with a dedicated team of translators, they would have to take on Kane and the Undertaker; that's gold right there.

Either way, Khali and Umaga should at least have a debate...move over obama and hillary... i can see khali and umaga in the piper's pit discussing health care reform:
khali: "gaaa merrr tooo gaaa!"
umaga: "oooahhh gerrr maaa samoa!"

it would be interesting but i dont know, i hate watchin khali fight... its just so damn boring, it would be cool to have an unstopable tag team again, but i cant stand khalis matches... and i dont even understand why Umaga is a ''monster''.. hes not tall (not that tall at least), hes not big (well.. fat.. but not even THAT fat).. hes just crazy , and when cena had to pretend he couldnt pick Umaga was just pathetic, he picked up the big show, and wouldnt pick up umaga?

anyway, they they were to team up, i would like taker and kane to team up again, and beat the hell out of them and become new tag champs, now that would really bring some prestige back to the titles

I like the idea, they would be hated for sure.
I thought Umaga carried John Cena through their fued, and the PPV matches weren't half bad.
I think Umaga and Estrada could do the same thing for Khali, and maybe get him over a little more.

Damn ive been allways saying that Khali should tag coz then we could see domination in the tag team division and shake thing up.

Multiple teams who couldnt beat Khali and Umaga team up backstage and beat him up so they had a chance to get the belts.

Then we would see a funny promo with Umaga telling Estrada he will fight even if Khali is knocked out by a beating backstage because no one has beat them so far so he thinks it will be easy.

Then we would see Umaga drag Khali knocked out of course, to the ring so he is able to defend his title because he cant defend it unless Khali is there. Imagine he would get beat and then start a Khali Umaga fued coz they lost.

Khali would blame him for trying to defend both titles on his own.

I defo agree that Khali Umaga would be like the Bros of Destruction dominating but even if it wasnt Umaga it could be Mark Henry.

I agree with a7xoff it would help Khali Umaga with less strain on them in matches as they could share the load.

Also agree with The not-so Great Khali Cryme Time stealing the belts would be hilarious and i could see Umaga and Khali smashing up the locker room in anger! Or arguing in Khalis language and Umagas made up jiberish.

Also they defo need a catchy name!

man y2 jake i see what you mean. umaga & khali......that would be awesome. i mean who could stop them in a normal tag match. high flyers like london & kendrick and the hardys would get flattened. big guys like kane and taker.....would also get flattened. and guys like cade & murdoch.....would get flattened. they could win ladder matches buy having khali pick up umaga and having him grab the belt. the only matches i could see them lose in are hardcore matches and hell in a cell matches. in a hardcore match the opponants can just try their best to beat the crap out of then with weapons. same for hell in a cell
