The Most Violent WWE Match Ever?

DAMN My Ex-Gf just got implants!!!
Okay so I started this thread because I wanted to know what was the most grusome, painful, and violent wwe match you ever saw(excluding the old ecw). What was the match that you couldn't watch? The match that you wanted to change the channel but you couldn't stop looking at what was going on. The match that actually made you feel bad for the people in the match. My pick would have to be wrestlemania 22 when Edge w/lita took on Mick Foley in a hardcore match. The match was just so grusome it had Edge and Foley both getting blooded by a barbed wire baseball bat, I remember watching it and Edge literally had blood in his eyes. It had Edge being put through thumbtacks and who could forget it had the infamous moment when Edge speared Mick Foley through the burning table. Heck it even had Lita's mouth getting blooded when she recieved the barbed wired socko. Do you agree with me or do you have an even more grusome match?

Yeah, I agree. That match was sick. Edge was all shaking afterward. You could tell he was knocked a little loopy.

Their isn't many "violent" matches that come to mind. I remember on WWE ECW, Big Show was against Ric Flair in a really bloody match. Eddie Guerrero got busted wide open in a match with JBL, and lost pints of blood it looked like.

The days of bloody, gory matches are behind us though.

Very obvious one, Undertaker vs Mankind, Hell in a Cell.
Foley was thrown off the cell through a table, and then through the roof of the cell. Both of those bumps were huge, they were, and still are painful to watch.
He suffered a legitimate concussion, lost a tooth, that pierced his lip, and lodged in his nose. He also suffered a seperated shoulder.

the obvious choice I think is HIAC at KOTR 98 between Mick Foley and The Undertaker. The bumps in that match (not just the obvious two, but Foleys tombstone onto thumbtacks, and a horrible moment where he gets the ring steps thrown into his freshly dislocated shoulder!) are truly a benchmark of brutality in mainstream proffesional wrestling that I would hope no wrestler would ever try and top, as it would probably end in a death.
An epic and emotional match to watch, but not an easy one to enjoy...

i really liked the foley-orton no holds barred match at backlash 04
orton showed how well he could shine without evoloution and put on one hell of a match
the RKO on the barbed wire baseball bat was an awesome, unexpected finish
i remember after the match, triple h coming up to a blood covered orton and saying "tonight, you went from being a legend killer to a legend"

Shit dude Edge Mick Foley at Wrestlemania 22 would be the the winning ticket. That was the first match i saw that just left me in awe in WWE and how hardcore they could really get. Brrr those looks in Edges face when he got the tacks, man. Or at the end of the match just fuckin shaking. Ahk

Edge vs. Foley was sick, the way Edge looked after that Spear. Damn. Cena and JBL in that I Quit match was sick as well. How about the Six Person Hardcore Tag Match, Edge Foley and Lita vs. Dreamer Funk and Bellulah? Foley/Taker in HIAC still shocks me though with Foley being thrown 20 feet or so off the top of the cell, amazing and huge credit to Foley for carrying on with the match, HHH vs. Foley was sick, Foley being backdropped through the top of the cell straight through the ring.

I have to put my vote in for the 6-"person" tag match at One Night Stand, just hearing Terry Funk yelling about he couldn't see, after getting barb wire in his eye still makes me turn away, also i have never seen a woman speared that hard inside of a wrestling ring.

HIAC 98 was brutal, but that was essentially due to what were essentially two massive botches.

Edge vs. Foley at WM22 is one of my all time favorites. I remember watching that match and thinking that this was easily the most brutal match in WM history. And I'm pretty sure its the only time in WWE history where a flaming table was used.

The first HIAC was really brutal as well. HBK was wearing the crimson mask during that one, and he ALSO was thrown from the roof of the cell, although that time it wasn't botched.

Before the PG era, WWE used to do some brutal I Quit matches. Rock vs. Mankind and Cena vs. JBL immediately spring to mind. Honestly, it could be each one of Cena's and JBL's best matches.

IMO, Brock Lesnar vs Undertaker in Hell In A Cell at No Mercy. Undertaker has never bled like that before, not many wrestlers ever have. Plus the finish was sick when Brock reversed the tombstone into an F-5. Brutal match!

I think any match that comes to mind would probably involve Foley, though there are a couple HHH/HBK matches that fit. Their Hell in a Cell match was pretty brutal. But Foley is the king of these matches. Of course there's his Hell in a Cell with the Undertaker, or the one with HHH, or the match against Edge. He also has a match where he got hit with a steel chair about 20 times with his family sitting in the front row.

the most violent match ever..........and not because of bloodshed.......

Taz vs. Sabu (ECW December 1998) when Taz broke Sabu's neck legitimately in the ring because Sabu tried to switch posistions in mid air so he could take a back body drop and not a flapjack drop

I think you missed something dude, it was WWE matches :)

Hmm, actually I have a few matches that comes to mind.

Edge vs Mick Foley at Wrestlemania 22: sick match, loved the spot where Edge jumped face first into the flaming table, everything about that match was absolutely painful to watch.

Randy Orton vs Mick Foley at Backlash 2004: yes Mick Foley again, but anyway, we can't deny that he is a hardcore legend, and he certainly helped put Randy Orton over, and made him look strong when he managed to defeat Mick after such a match.
Loved the spot where Randy is fighting to not get ripped by the barbed wired baseball bat, hell I believe they used that for his Titantron, didn't they?

John Cena vs JBL at Judgement day (I quit match): the bloodied John Cena was absolutely brilliant, had some awesome spots.
Loved John's entrance with the big truck and everything, only to use one of the exhaust pipe to make him quit, and then slap him with it.
And that match certainly made JBL look like someone who could swing one hell of a slap with that steel chair, I mean damn, I saw John Cena on Off The Record with Michael Landsberg, showing off the stitches from that match.

There's a bunch of violent matches I could think of, but If I had to pick one, I would have to go with Triple H VS Cactus Jack in Hell In A Cell from No Way Out 2000. This match was very violent. HHH back dropping Foley through the top of the Cell was such a "holy shit!" moment. Triple H and Foley put on some amazing matches, and this one was probably the best.

Another Honorable mention for most violent match, would be the Foley VS Flair I Quit match from Summerslam 2006. This match was bloody, and brutal. Both men beat the living hell out of each other, and this match had a great ending with Melina coming in to save Foley. Her interference forced him to say "I quit". What a great way to end the match.

Rock v. Foley in an I Quit match. Foley took like 15-20 chair shots to the head and gushing from his mask. Even Foley woman and kids were like end the damn match. Though not in the WWE, New Jack tossing Vic Grimes 40 feet to the floor below. Sick!

Mick Foley vs. The Undertaker KOTR in Hell In A Cell. Mick Foley got thrown off the freakin cell.He got through the freakin cell. Thumb tacks were used. Teeth were missing. There was a concussion. How can that not be the most violent match. This was an epic match.

The first match that came to mind was Brock Lesnar vs Zack Gowen. The match itself was short but the beating that Zack got was just sick. What made worse was that he got beatenh up in front of his mother.

Foley vs. Edge is one of the most overrated matches I've seen. It had barbed wire and a flaming table that was on fire for all about three seconds. Foley/Orton two years earlier was better and the flaming table was done a year earlier by the Dudley Boyz.

To me, I would choose any one of the TLC matches. I'm more partial to the one they had on RAW in Las Vegas. It was just brutal with people going through tables left and right and people using ladders in any way, shape, or form. Sometimes you don't need blood to have a violent match and this proved it.

Dreamer and Funk vs Edge and Foley stands out to me. Just the image of Foley and Funk laying there in that barbed wire board needing to be cut out and Funk returning with his eye bandaged with blood all over himself. The rest of the match wasn't as extreme, but just that one moment really stuck out to me.

Brock Lesnar vs Undertaker in the Cell was pretty brutal also. Undertaker bled about as much as I've ever seen a person bleed. Brock pretty much murdered him. Also went after a "broken" hand a great deal so it was violent on many levels.

Brock Lesnar vs Undertaker at no mercy in a hell in a cell match. Not sure if it was planned to have Undertaker bleed that much.

Just WWE id have to agree with the Rock vs Foley match where rock hit Foley all those times in the head.Rock was a beast during those times. He was also the one that blasted a unguarded Ken Shamrock in the head with a chair. That sickening thud still makes me think How could he take that without brain damage.

Outside of WWE anything Foley did in Japan.I have the best of Cactus Jack in Japan vhs(bought it at the only live original ECW taping ever in Cincinnati when they was on TNN) and i must say some of those matches made the wwe hardcore division look like a diva's pillow fight...Him and Terry Funk were freaking insane. You see Funk grabbing Japanese fans and almost ddting them and swinging chairs at them and they just loved it.

Its no doubt a dvd to grab if you can find it on dvd for any Foley fan and im glad i got my copy..Best of New Jack is awesome also but its more entertaining because of the interviews he gives about the people he was feuding with from making fun of Perry Saturn's eye to calling the Dudley's out for being so big lol.

I can't believe no one has given credit to the bob holly vs. rob van dam match from wwecw where holly gets his back ripped open by a table then keeps wrestling like nothing happened. That was hard to watch.

It seems that, for the most part, the underlying theme of this thread has been "the most violent WWE matches involving Mick Foley". Also, the majority of these matches are within the last dozen years. However, this match was mega-violent for it's time, and stands up well over the years; Sgt. Slaughter vs. The Iron Shiek from Madison Square Garden in a Boot Camp match from 1984. The match started with Slaughter running down the ramp (as fast as he could anyway), and started blasting the Sheik with his steel pot (combat helmet). Both wrestlers lost buckets of blood, and the crowd at the Garden went home very happy with a Slaughter win.

Check out some of the early hardcore matches that involved Road Dogg, Al Snow, Big Bossman, Hardcore Holly, Bart Gunn. Also check out Hardcore Holly Vs Bad Ass Billy Gunn from RAW March 1999, that was was brutal.

The Hardcore title in 1999 IMO was probably the most exciting belt to have, the matches we're given a decent amount of time, and used the space they had wisely.

Some awesome hardcore matches to watch,

Wrestlemania X7
Raven/Undertaker,
Steve Blackman/Shane Mcmahon (check out any of Blackman's matches they were pretty good)
Rob Van Dam/Jeff Hardy (They never really needed the any chairs or tables their styles worked meshed very well it's a shame they never had the opportunity to wrestle at a wrestlemania, they'd of teared the house down)
Dudleys/Hardy boys had some amazing tag matches (rumble 2000 & survivor series 2001)
Kurt Angle/Shane O Mac.
Chris Jericho/RVD (Unforgiven 2001, used a lot of hardcore stuff but kept the match in and around the ring which was a first)

I've tried to keep away from the Main events and TLC matches, if you can try and get a hold of WWF HARDCORE the DVD as it's loaded with hardcore matches, some hidden gems from back in the day (1998-2001) it does miss some of the more well known matches, but some other good ones are on there.

The strictly wrestling matches that looked brutal check out Kane/Mankind from Survivor Series 1997, Bret Hart/Stone Cold Survivor series 1996.

How about Eddie Guerrero VS JBL? I forget what the gimmick was for that match, but man, there was some serious blood. The chair shot JBL gave Eddie sounded like a gunshot and Eddie just wouldn't stop bleeding. The match almost got to the point that it was nauseating to watch. It's one of the very few matches I really feel they should have stopped it as Eddie bled so much he actually went anemic from the loss of blood. That has to be one of the nastiest matches I have ever seen, sitting up there even with Mic falling off of and through Hell in a Cell.

Triple H vs. Cactus Jack, Royal Rumble 2000. Not only was it bloody and intense, but the match itself was a work of art. No street fight has, in my opinion, ever matched it since.
