The match or the result: which one?

nowadays WWE is so obsessed with determining an entertaining RESULT for their matches while the matches themselves are hardly entertaining (a good example punk vs rock at royal rumble and almost a reverse example big show vs shaemus at tlc) the latter example was a very good match and speaking of my idea and some other people since the match was pretty good we didn't care about the result. so our answer to the above question was the way now i want to see what's yours? Would you like to see that the matches become more entertaining themselves rather than having entertaining results?

Majority of they IWC will want a good entertaining match over the result. However majority of the fans that go to the live shows and the people we call the casual fan is more interested in an entertaining result and finish to the match. Why can't we have both i like an entertaining match with a entertaining result but if I have to chose I am picking an entertaining match.

I loved the Punk/Rock match. It had sensible psychology, both worked a great match, it had the Shield, what more do you want? And we all knew the result beforehand, so that didn't matter. Also, the way in which Rocky sold was beautiful!

I believe that if the matches were entertaining and had entertaining conclusions they would be really good. Instead of having one or the other, why not have both options. Good selling and entertaining spots with an awesome ending. That would be great in my opinion.

Obsessed is too strong of a word but I assume you are referring to the way faces tend to win quite often.

You're completely losing me here. Punk/Rock was a lot of fun. Rock towers over Punk and he made Punk look really credible. They had solid action.

It was very good. The result was very good, seeing Sheamus survive multiple KO punches was incredible.

You can only do so much so often before matches become a no selling/no sense Lucha Libre free for all. Some matches work, some results work. It's all part of the same package. I probably lean toward the matches themselves since I'm not exactly a fan of specific guys but I understand WWE's concern with "sending the fans home happy". I just want to be entertained.

A good story requires a good ending. If the ending is bad, it can tarnish the whole story. Just as in the case of movies or books, results that suck can ruin an otherwise great match. I'd personally rather have both an entertaining match with an entertaining outcome, but if I had to pick one of the two it would be the entertaining result. The best matches/feuds tell a story and the best stories have entertaining endings. Less entertaining matches would be the lesser of two evils here if it means they remain focused on giving us entertaining outcomes.

Hey come on guys i just said my comment on punk/rock match comparing it to royal rumble match ,,, well it wasn't that interesting. so don't judge me like that.
and about a good story if both competitors are good enough or have a same level of reputation unlike punk and rock and more like show and shaemus then the result wouldn't matter at all. just imagine what would happen if shaemus won the match and not big show ,we wouldn't see a bad outcome of story but on the other hand if the rock lost that match it wouldn't be pretty. if we stop having foolish feuds like punk and ryback or a feud with predetermined result then i believe we can see WWE return to it's former glory days.
as a ps i want to say recently i saw an old wwf match on youtube the undertaker vs hulk hogan over the wwf title which the undertaker won. pretty logical feud with a guaranteed entertaining result so in that case result won't matter and people want to see the worthy one with better skill win the match. although undertaker won the match with interferences from paul bearer and ric flair and my idea won't apply here but i believe we must see more feuds like this in today wrestling.

Ladder matches are prime examples of endings that dont quite live up to the match beforehand. the match itself is full of spots that make our jaws drop but the ending usually has a empty feeling to it...Granted some have memorable one's...(jeff hardy vs edge at extreme rules 2009) but others just dont fit...(TLC 3 on smackdown...)...

thats just my opinion...
