I know that with less than 2 weeks to go until WrestleMania it's not likely that many things will change as far as the matches that are already set. I know it's not a guarantee that Lesnar is leaving after WrestleMania. Let's just get those out of the way. Now, let me explain why I believe Rollins and Orton should be added to the match and make it a Fatal Four Way for the WWE Heavyweight Championship.
Reigns has made significant improvements as of late, but I still feel it's too soon for him to get that John Cena-esque push and win the WWE title. For argument's sake, let's say that Lesnar IS leaving after WrestleMania. How do we know that it won't be the same as what happened between him and Goldberg at WrestleMania 20? Y'know, where neither man cared about the match and it ended up being one of the worst in 'Mania history? Well, the circumstances are almost the same. The only difference is Reigns will be sticking around, and if Lesnar doesn't care about how the match goes, it could spell disaster for Reigns, regardless of whether or not Rollins cashes in. Besides, we saw what happened last year when Lesnar was forced to call the match after 'Taker got a concussion. Add to the fact that Reigns probably has very little experience calling a match himself, and we have potential for a giant clusterf***. Not the best way to start your run at the top.
Now, whether you agree with that or not is your choice. But why add Orton and Rollins, you ask? They already have a match at WrestleMania. Yes, they do, but it's not completely out of the realm of possibility for Rollins to use his briefcase to enter the match. I'm not entirely sure how Orton would be able to get in, but I'm sure they'll find a way. Now, as to why they should be in the match. Rollins would be able to provide the highspots and be able to prevent the match from becoming a possible snorefest, and Orton is a ring general who would be able to call the match for Reigns and Rollins. Reigns and Lesnar can still have the knock-down drag-out brawl that people want to see, but having Orton and Rollins in there can add so much more to the match than just two big guys punching and suplexing each other for 30 minutes.
I know, it won't mean as much if someone were to pin Lesnar to win the title in a 4 way as it would if Reigns were to beat him one-on-one, but the match isn't always just about the result, is it? This way, WWE is in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation where either WWE is forced to go with a guy who isn't quite ready or a guy who doesn't care about the company representing it and your fans never seeing your top title on TV or PPV.
So, what do you guys think? Is this a better alternative? Again, I know it's not likely to happen but I definitely think it's a better scenario and better overall for WWE if they do end up taking the Reigns route. I know there's still the possibility of Rollins cashing in after the match but if it's seen that Reigns can't go in the main event of their biggest show of the year regardless of the eventual outcome then it wouldn't bode very well for the remainder of his career, will it?
