This is a thing and it's gonna feature 2 AAA teams, a Mexico indy team. A NOAH team. AJPW/Japan Indy team. An ROH team. A TNA team and a U.S. indy team. I believe a PR team and a Canadian team might be added, but yeah. That's a hell of a cross over.

One AAA team is Alberto El Patron, Rey Mysterio and Myzteziz. Them being the most likely winners given the publicity. Team AJPW is Kenzo Suzuki, Masamune and Tiger Mask III. Team NOAH is Yoshihiro Takayama, Atsushi Kotoge and Taiji Ishimori. I believe the Mexico indy team is Dr. Wagner, L.A. Park and Dr. X.

The second AAA team will be determined through qualifying matches. Electroshock, Fantasma Jr. and Fenix will fight for the first slot and Texano Jr., La Parka and Cibernetico will fight for a second. The third hasn't been announced.

You guys intrigued? It's a hell of a concept. And will most likely go on iPPV.

This I'll watch. It sounds awesome.

Bring in the people who say, "cross promotions never work.... and all that other whiny stuff". Because enjoying something is not the point of watching wrestling. Dissecting it like a frog in science class is the point of watching wrestling. Enjoyment died with the formaldehyde.

Just for the sake of something different I will likely check it out. It is gonna have a lot of names I'm unfamiliar with, so that may hurt some of the enjoyment, but if the wrestling is solid I won't care that much.

It'd be cool except it has Alberto Del Boring.

Oh, and how can you have a Lucha tournament without these guys:
Cara-Kalisto.jpg

Team him with El Generico and Team WWE/NXT wins the whole deal.

I'm in - the original La Parka (now LA Park) is there, one of my all time favourite luchadors! Lucky enough to see him in a tag match with El Hijo del Rey Mysterio against, I believe, Derrick Niekirk and a certain Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose) on a Dragon Gate USA card in Phoenix two nights before Wrestlemania 26, and he was a hoot, as well as being a decent wrestler.

Honestly, it has some serious potential; Indy promotions have nothing really to lose by doing these kinds of shows, particularly ones featuring international talent. It brings all kinds of exposure, and, if I don't watch it on ippv, I will likely seek out the DVD.

Meltzer thinks Matt Sydal will lead Team ROH and his partners will most likely be ACH and and Cedric Alexander, but hes not too sure. Sydal seems to be a lock though.

Team TNA is going to be Matt Hardy, Manik and someone else.

Funny how the promotions aren't really sending their A talent. It's almost like they know Alberto, Rey and Myzteziz are just gonna beat everyone for publicity. A cross over is a cross over. This one is still a massive one.

Of the few names and complete teams we officially know of I am excited to see this thing play out. I don't necessarily need the A players. Just guys who fit the format for a quality event.

Looks like Matt Hardy, Anderson & Galloway from TNA but they may not be a team. Galloway may represent a country outside of his new global televised promotion.

Galloway is announced as Team TNA by TNA, but the official Lucha Libre World Cup page lists Johnny Mundo as the 3rd man. The thought of him sticking with AAA makes me quite happy.

Ohhh, THAT Johnny Mundo. What's his moniker now? "The brujah of beauty?"

I hope this thing goes to Youtube...

And Team AAA:

I love how these bios even have former ring names written and every single major accolade they could fit. These things are awesome.

@Kiljoy. Thanks for sharing all of these. This event is shaping up to be pretty bad ass. I'm trying to expand my global knowledge in the world of pro wrestling and I am greatly looking forward to this shit.

Cage is awesome and if he does it still doesn't take away from his awesomeness. The dude has improved week after week and he is truly a Machine!

Yes, I think he does steroids or some sort of HGH thing.

He's from southern California. People here are OBSESSED with the gym. I would not be shocked if he's natural.

If I remember right, he was injured for a while and came back ginormous, so I would assume he spent that entire time in the gym and has managed to keep the gainz

Announced yesterday. This will be the first pro wrestling event ever broadcasted.....

IN 3D!!
