The importance of the steel cage match

Is this match as important as it once was? We see an awful lot of cage matches on TV nowadays, I know it's not the WWE's main gimmik match, but is it special anymore?

well the steel cage match is more important then a regular match, but it has lost a lot of it's luster. It was once reserved only for main events, but now it's a mid card main event. Even though they are the same thing, the Hell in the Cell is now what the Steel Cage match was.

If you use a match frequently it looses meaning. The same is happening in TNA with 6 Sides Of Steel. In the 80's nearly every major feud ended with a steel cage match. And they were put over as being brutal. Nowaday's thay will have them unadvertised on Raw and Smackdown. like most gimmick match's the more there used the less they mean.

Back in the day, Steel Cage was about as extreme as it got. Nowadays, there is a new gimmick match being invented every month (ok maybe an exageration) but come on, a Punjab Prison Match?

I like the concept behind the Punjab prison match. I just needs to be steel and not bamboo. But they are trying to make the Steel Cage more dangerous by making it Bigger.

The steel cage would be better if it had like spikes sticking out of it at random intervals.

Conecpt of punjabi = Excellent, so why not have it more with modifications? i.e Weapons are unlocked as you open doors, or something along those lines.

The steel cage is basically just a normal every day match really i mean hell at NYR it opened the show. It still can end an rilvary but not a main event rilvary just a mid-card rivlary andwhen ever a big fued or big tim eedns show sup on RAW or SmackDown! then well its holds not the same value anymore..as thsi once a thing you pay to see but not anymore.

the Punjabi prison match was lame i think that was a one time match
