The Heel AJ Styles Is Pure Genius

for me with AJ it doesn't really mater if he's heel or face because his matches are always going to be good either way, so I'm always going to end up cheering for him any way even if I like his opponent too

Yeah I could'nt care less. I dont think it really matter's with A.J. The one think he lack's is mic skill's, personally I think he's pretty average in that department. He will get a great reaction anyway. T.N.A. crowd's usually have dueling chant's anyway when there's an X-Division match going.

I think he's better as a heel. He comes off well and with a great attitude for it. I also think he's the kind fo guy who could easily switch back and forth, and while I see him best as a heel I think most see him more as a face.

I believe that if you have an outstanding performer such as AJ Styles, they're always better off being faces. Great performers usually do amazing things and the crowd has trouble cheering for it if it's done by a heel. That's why AJ - the man who is inarguably TNA's best performer - is better off a face

I'm kind of on the fence for now regarding whether or not A.J. will fit better as a heel or face. Heel turns can actually strengthen the crowd's love for a wrestler. Case in point: The Rock. Upon debuting as Rocky Maivia he had as much flavor in his character as a corspe. However, once he went heel his ability to control a crowd increased, and when he finally went face again, they worshipped him. The big secret in Rock's arsenal was that he got extremely good at working the mic. If A.J. wants to be the top guy in a perennial fashion like Jarrett has been, he needs to work at his mic presentation. He has the wrestling bit nailed down and has for years, but the promos need to be shored up for him to be the complete package. Hopefully he shows the necessary work ethic to do good on the mic as he already has shown with regards to the in-ring work. I'd hate to see him wasted as I believe he is the present and future of the business stateside.

Works either way, doesn't change his ringwork... Except maybe tightheld rollups, low-blows etc. common heel stuff. I thought they were feuding him with Daniels again, with the roles reversed from their feud awhile back, when he first made his turn... But Rhino's cool too.

Face, Styles doesnt have what it takes to be a Heel. And if Russo is so adament that he play the heel role, He really needs a mouthpiece or manager. When they split up Daniels and Styles, Daniels should have went the heel route, But it doesnt matter. Tna is nothing know but WWE Velocity.

i think it was a bit better than velocity.....i'd give it.....SHOTGUN SATURDAY NIGHT. i dont ever remember wrestling taking place on velocity.....only a dump ground.....with the trash being D-LO and Val Venis.....oh and BIG BOSSMAN.....and.......x-PAC.......a paper cup.....and a blown tire......both of which held the amount of talent that the show PACKED EVERY WEEK! yessir.... i smoke rocks joe rogan...

TNA is definetly alot more than WWE velocity. Personally some of the matches are even better than RAW\SMACKDOWN matches.

At least with the PPVs for TNA, when I buy and watch them, I don't feel ripped off. They always have at least one match that steals the show which the WWE forgot how to do a long time ago. As far as AJ Styles, what sucks is that with him as a heel, he doesn't do anything close to the stuff that he has done in his career that made him The Phenomenal One. This is sadly one of the things that we can blame Russo for.

Do you guys like Aj as face or as heel? Personally I feel he carries better as a face, then as a heel.

AJ as a face was basically just a guy who got out there and wrestled but never said much. Now, as a heel, he comes out there and makes people hate him and they hate him even more since he's not the type of heel that has to cheat to win. He's the type of heel that talks trash and then backs it up in the ring. That makes fans despise him even more. He's great as a heel.

I just watched the best of AJ DVD- and he's played heel before, successfully. The problem is, fans don't want to boo him. I think he is one of two performers who should just stick with rogue and not really need a storyline to be awesome. And to be fair, his mic skills and acting are getting better. I was at the PPV where he pretended to be injured, and it was damn convincing. Tears and all. I don't know how it translated on TV.

he can be both cuz the fans stil cheer for him cuz his matches are exciting. he can get over with the crowd easliy as long as u can keep the crowd on theirs toes. only thing he needs to work on is his mic skills and needs a ruthless streak

I'll give Tna credit there PPV's are usually very decent. But Impact sucks. I Have Never SEEN a Great match on Impact? Thats why I compared it to Velocity. I still think Styles is much better suited as a face, just because The impact Fans refuse to boo him,and that doesnt come across very well on TV, which is the outlet they are using to build there fan Base.

For every bad piece of crap WWE dishes out. TNA gives just as much like VKM, who are just bitter because HHH and HBK are rehashing a dead horse the fans are behind and there getting paid alot better. If they were still in WWE, they would be riding the bandwagon. Just like the Bitter Dudleys, bitching and whining about ECW. The jobbing of your wrestlers to Nascar and Baseball stars. The destruction of the once great X division. TNA is no better, than WWE,because they are trying to be like the WWE.

There is much more to their being pissed off about DX than them just rehashing it. They have legit heat with HHH and HBK and this was the quickest route to a storyline geared around it. That's the key...IF they were still in the WWE. That's where they wanted to work, but they were given the run around just like they were when they were saddled together intitially as a joke and HBK didn't want them in DX. HHH is the reason that they weren't pushed after DX and according to them on the original shoot interview was the reason BG was booted out of the WWE. Whether it is true or not is anyone's guess. The truth for Kip is that he was always their utility man in the tag ranks and after developing his own character in Mr. Ass, they buried that one and dumped him in the Billy/Chuck angle which damaged his macho character for cheap publicity and then they just shelved him entirely. The sad thing is that the marks actually got behind DX. It only shows how desperate they've become.

As for The Dudley's, they feel passionate about something they helped create that has been bastardized and drug through $hit in the last couple of years instead of being left alone. Bubba and D-Von didn't just wrestle for ECW, they also helped to run it, so you I hope you can understand where they might be pissed at seeing something they loved and helped to build get raped by Vince McMahon. Most of the WWE marks have no clue about how important and special ECW was in the grand scheme of American wrestling, but that's okay, not everyone is informed. The level of respect that company had from the wrestling community was unrivaled and something that couldn't be bought. Hell, Vince stole the whole formula and just put better lights and pyro behind it for the Attitude Era. I'm just a fan and am disgusted and pissed off to no end with what's been done to the ECW brand name, so I can't begin to imagine how much some of the former worker's feel about it.

This guy is just gold at working a heel. He makes whoever he's against look stupid, has a natural charisma for it and his body language and mic work are awesome. The best part is, he's the victim in the storyline. People were sticking there nose in his business as if he needed it, when they didn't know anything worth saying about him and thought they were so righteous for doing so. I don't know about you, but this exact scenario has happened to me before not so long ago and it can be really frustrating to say the least. Rhino and Mike Tenay are the jerks in this story's situation, not AJ> The only person involved with any credibility is or rather was Christopher Daniels, as he played the role of peacekeeper.

Any takers?

Yeah, you're an idiot. The reason every1 is looking "Stupid" against AJ is because he sucks at getting anything or anyone over. And if you think that a face looks like a jerk in the storyline then OBVISOUSLY the heel isn't doing his job right. You know when someone is heel you're supposed to hate them, right? This entire post seems like a fanboy comment. AJ is dry on the mic, he lacks the ability to wrestle like a heel, and the only reason he is a heel is because Russo doesn't know what to do with him as a face.

I find it really hard to beleive him as a heel, he just seems to be trying too hard and it come across as fake, his promos sound scripted and not naturel, he just seems more comfortable as a face and since the fans love him they don't really seem to boo him like they should he he's a heel, and as the post above me states if the face charecter is coming of as a "jerk" the the heel isn't doing their job, Rhino and Styles should switch roles in this storyline, and as a heel AJ doesn't seem to wrestle to his full ability wichis what people want to see

Okay. I was actually amazed this past edition of Impact when I saw AJ actually get booed by the crowd. So maybe there is potential in this. Personally, I don't like it. But let's see how it fairs.

yeah, you're a bitch. so what, he's just supposed to take the backseat and make every one else look good? how the hell can he make mike tenay and rhino look intelligent? not even the best heel can do that. blaming it on Russo only, how typical. what a crap out, I mean it MUST be Russo. see, I hate LAX because they're just useless and have that useless and repetition down to a science. and who the hell are you to tell me i'm not supposed to like a heel? plenty of people like heels over faces. take Chris Jericho for example. yours is just wannabe comment, as far as i'm concerned. thanks for nothing, jackass.

Ever hear of the NWO? The REAL DX? Steve Austin? Any of these anti-heroes happen to ring a bell? No. Thought not. Define wrestling like a heel? Eye-pokes? Groin shots? What're we talking here? A.J. is being turned heel because he's spent the better part of four years as a clean-cut boring babyface. He had The Rock's original problem in that he was TOO good. If they can do with him what they did for Rock, then he'll actually have some substance to his character. Besides, the last episode of Impact had the fans hating his guts and starting numerous "AJ sucks!" chants, so it looks like they're on the right track.

Exactly. They went from worshipping him like Ghandi to hating his guts inside of a couple of weeks. Not bad considering he's been the babyface franchise of TNA since his last heel stint years ago.

AJ's heel turn was completely unbelievable at first. Last week on Impact and last night at the PPV he actually was over as a heel. He had a couple of spots that reminded me off the old Ric Flair. I'll be interested to see how this plays out.

the heel turn is great but i think the whole not getting up to the 10 count and sayin the hell wit it at the ppv was a bullshit move, I'd like to see him tag up wit Christian and rule TNA
