The Hangover 2

So after the financial and critical sucess that was The Hangover, it was obvious that a second part was going to be made.
The Hangover is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen, but I don't think that the idea of a sequel is good, since it's probably going to be more of the same but in Bangkok, but let's see what happens.

So, what are your thoughts on this sequel?
Do you think that is going to be a financial and critical success like the first one, or is going to be a crappy sequel?

It has quite the shoes to fill, but I think it's possible that they make another funny movie. They really need to strike while the iron's hot because I have the feeling that Galifinakis' comedic style is going to start getting old soon. He pretty much plays the same character in every movie to be honest. Not that that's a bad thing, but people today are pretty fickle.

I'm sure the opening weekend will have a monster turn out. It will be interesting to see how much it holds up in the following weeks. That's usually a telling sign of whether or not the movie is shit.

I would be surprised if Hangover 2 is as funny as the 1st movie, but lets be honest it could be 50% as funny and still be the funniest movie of the year. The Hangover was quite easily the funniest thing I have ever seen in the cinema and I cannot wait to see what they come up with for the sequel.

I agree with your point point about the guy who played Alan (I cannot spell his name lol), he does seem to play a similar role in most films, kinda like Seth Rogen does but back in his name-making role I think he will be brilliant again. Bradley Cooper is one of my favourite actors so I hope that he will be involved again in Hangover 2, he was awesome in the 1st

"Lady in the leapord-skin dress...you have an amazing rack! I should have been a fucking cop!"

I am looking forward to it. It's own hype seems to be gaining some steam, so a nice run as far as money goes is absolutely possible. Even if it is nowhere close to being as good as the first, it will probably do pretty good numbers.

I happen to think it will be good though (or hope). It seems more then likely that these guys can get together and make one more classic to add to the first classic. I think they will end up doing it justice, and it will be a pretty good sequel.

I am very excited to see the new promo trailer for this movie.

I took a little time out of my day yesterday to watch the movie and suffice it to say, I was not disappointed. It must have been the 7th or 8th time I have watched it all of the way through and I am never disappointed or let down when I finish watching. The Hangover, whilst being so simple at it's core, is still one of the funniest movies I have seen in a long time and actually rivals Superbad as my favourite comedy film of the last few years.

That being said, the shoes left by it's predecessor are pretty big. However, I am not going to be one of those people who write off a movie before I see it. The last time I did that, was Twilight and I still feel justified in my view that I will never watch that movie. I have gone this far, now there is no turning back. Instead, I am going to say that I am looking forward to seeing The Wolfpack in all their glory once more. Really, there was no greater thrill than seeing The Hangover in the cinema and I am sure that the same buzz that surrounded the first effort will be present again when the second one is released.

I am glad that they managed to keep the same cast from the first one as I feel all 3 of the main characters owe something to this film series now. It basically put them into a whole new world of acting potential and all of them having taking advantage of that, to say the least. My only hope is that it takes steps to beat the first one in terms of quality. The great strength of the original was the plot line and I am certain that it would not have been the same if it has just some cheap Vegas holiday movie. This one needs to match that plot line and surpass it even.

I am looking forward to seeing what they can bring us.

There is no way that the sequel will be able to top the original. That being said, I'm looking forward to watching The Hangover 2. I think it will be hilarious. The change of scenery had me scratching my head at first, but it makes sense to have it take place elsewhere instead of Vegas again. Given how popular the first one was, I bet that The Hangover 2 will make a large profit, but not as much as its prequel because sequels are rarely as good as the first, whether that be in financial success or fans' opinion. We will just have to wait and see.

That's the trailer for it. I personally don't know what I think about it. I don't know if they should have made a sequel, because there's no way they can trump the original. That being said, the movie looks OKAY, but I don't know if I'll see it in theaters. I think they're trying to capitalize on the success of the first one, and I don't know if it's going to fly. It kind of reminds me of the Ace Ventura sequel. It's completely off the wall and in a weird place. I guess we'll see how it is. I might end up changing my mind, or they might prove me wrong. Time will tell.

I'm very disappointed to see the plot is the same as the original. Just with a different guy gone missing, in a different place, and someone else getting married. They couldn't have changed it up a bit. Seriously, I mean I'm sure it will be as funny as the original, but the plot is very dissapionting, it's just plain lazy.

EL BUMPO!

So I went and caught this today during a matinee with a buddy of mine and I got to say I did enjoy it quite a bit. I definitely liked the original more, but this was a worthy sequel in my eyes. The main issue with the film is that it's totally formulaic, but that's part of the charm of films like these, much like slasher films. There's a formula for a reason, and it's because it works more often than not, and it did here. Ed Helms, much like the first film, stole the show and it's crazy to me that he's not a mega-star yet in the comedy world, because everything he does is just great down to his facial expressions and timing.

The film was also noticeably darker in it's humor, which some might not like but I personally loved. A few fun cameos, a winning comedy formula and a very likable cast of characters made this an enjoyable way to kill an hour and a half. If I were to give it a rating, I'd say about *** out of *****, whereas I'd have given the original ***1/2 stars. A step down, but still funny and enjoyable.

I tried to go and see this movie last night with a friend, using the Orange Wednesday 2-for-1 offer. It didn't work.

We got there 30 mins before the film started....and it was already sold out for the whole night, and people were STILL queining out of the cinema doors, trying to get in...and everyone wanted to see The Hangover 2. Guess I will have to try in a few days, but this really pissed me off. I was really looking forward to seeing it last night

I just watched it.., for me it was a perfect summer comedy.. Though the plot of the hangover 2 is similar to the original movie but its story line is quite different., the movie has number of unexpected turns ,which makes it more funny.. Want to njoy ur weekend just go for it..

Watched it yesterday and it wasn't bad. Had me laughing pretty good a few times and the characters of Stu, Phil, and Allen are still great together. I have to say that I absolutely love the original Hangover film. It's one of the best comedies in a long time imo. The best part about movies like Hangover, Superbad, Pineapple Express, and even Hot Tub Time Machine for me is that I had very low expectations going in and figured we'd seen the funny stuff in the preview. Obviously they all surprised me and were quite good. As such I tried to not expect too much from this being as I thought there was no way it would live up to the original. That was the case, but I still liked it. The problem is that it's such a strict formula that this movie was really similar to the first just in a different setting. I did read that they are going forward with a third film in the series and the filmmakers plan to somehow change up the formula a bit, which I think will benefit it for sure and hopefully put it on par with the original.

I went too see it, and it was worth the money i gave..
And i don't really believe that the first one is so much better, I think that they are close..
The Hangover was a new thing, The Hangover - Part II is equally new and awesome.

Chow is a fantastic character as well as Alan...
Everybody did great in this movie and stay at the end of the photos, because they are funny as shitt xD
I hope thay make a Part III, but with a new formula, not bachelor partys anymore!!
I want to see more from Doug, i really think that he could be cool...

Overall - 9/10 - laughed big time and it is the best comedy movie of this year xD

Stu: “Look, here’s the deal man. I got a dark side. There’s a demon in me.”
Alan: “It’s true, he has semen in him.”
Stu: “I said demon.”
Alan: “You also have semen in you, remember?”

EPIC

I had watch the hangover part 2 movie many times. The story of this movie is amazing and i like it.

I finally got to see this yesterday, and while it was good I didn't think it was anywhere near as good as the original...which is what I was expecting.

Everything about the 1st one was awesome, as it was new, unexpected and I didnt go into the movie thinking it was going to be amazing. It really surprised me.

But this one I went into having really high expectations, and it was basically the same storyline as the first but just in a different location and not as funny as the 1st one. It was still good though, and definitely worth seeing. I laughed at quite a lot of it, but just not as hard as I did the original.

The characters of Stu, Phil and Alan still work really well together but I really hope they change the formula for the 3rd movie (which is supposed to be in Amsterdam I have heard), because a 3rd movie with yet another batchelor party piss-up would be a bad idea.

I watched it the other day with the wifey and another couple who went on a double date with us. I went into it not expecting it to be as good as the first one (which it wasn't) because that might never be topped.... but I hoped for a funny movie even thought it might not live up to the hilarity of the first. The second Hangover, while not AS funny as the first, is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. It brought in some new characters, saw some familiar faces, and provided many laugh out loud moments. I recommend it to anyone who wants to see a hilarious movie, but do watch the first one first if you haven't already. Should we expect a third? I wouldn't be against it.

I'm probably the only one with a different review of the movie, but I just didn't find the sequel remotely funny. The first one was funny because I guess I wasn't expecting all the shenanigans. This time around it was the same story except with a different guy getting married and with a different guy being lost. Alan and Stu are always funny. Phil is pretty much a dick in every movie.

This film tried to be so over the top and even dark that it was hard to get into. Of course at the end of the film everything is right as rain even though the Wolfpack go through a lot bad stuff. The upside was the beautiful Jamie Chung as Stu's new fiancee.

One thing that was minor that I thought would have helped it was having a major or former big name celebrity like Mike Tyson make a cameo. Although Tyson did make a cameo at the end. It would have been hilarious to see someone like a Mel Gibson or Bill Clinton in the film. I know I'm in the minority here, but I just didn't find the film funny. I guess I was expecting too much. I knew it wouldn't top the first, but it was really lackluster to me.
