*This thread is for teaching people how to use emulation software on a computer. No link are allowed to be posted here. This is only for instructional purposes.
*Emulation is not legally approved. So unless you already own the machine and games you want emulated, I suggest you don't do it.
Emulators are programs which reproduce a videogame console or handheld using your computer. They use many files to work. Its most important is the "ROM" file. This is like a game cartridge. Place it in the correct folder and open it up with the correct emulation program. CD based consoles and handhelds such as the Playstation and PSP use "ISO" as game files. They are images of the disc, burnt to the computer. I don't recommend looking for them. Instead, find a good cd burning program and burn the image from YOUR COPY of the game. Some work with a "BIOS". A memory, similar to the one your computer uses. This, just like the emulator itself, is not legally approved unless you own its respective machine. NEVER post a link to download a BIOS of any kind. That IS illegal. So don't do it.
Finding an emulator program is simple and near obvious, so I won't tell you how to find them.
I will begin to cover the "how to" on certain emulators as I look into them. My next post will be about the SNES9X.
