#4 Tetris

NES_Tetris_Box_Front.jpg

Format; Many a console but GameBoy was the creme de la creme

Genre; Puzzle

Release date; 1989 (gameboy, 1985 was debut year)

Plot; No plot!

Why number 4?
The only game I can pick up at any time, play for 4 hours straight, not batting an eyelid, and not wanting the time back. It's a classic, I'm sure everyone who has ever played a game has played Tetris, this is a place in all our hearts =)

#4: Chrono Trigger: DS

What ARE you two doing? I thought you said something about a nice little slideshow?
-Crono

Far too often when a game is remade, one of two things happen, only minor changes occur not at all enhancing the game play or too many things are added runining the nostagic prospective of the game. Neither of these things happened with Chrono Trigger DS. One of the better remakes out there, the genuies at square knew exactly what to do to make Chrono Trigger better. There are nothing but improvements to the game, a fun monster arena has been added, and the new interface involving the ds touch screen makes gameplay smoother. But at the core the game is still the same Chrono Trigger, a whimsical fantasy following a young boy and his friends, traveling through time gathering new companions in an attempt to rid the future of a distructive apcolypse at the hands of Lavos. Multiple endings and a New Game+ feature give this game steller replay value. Chrono Trigger is a great game, Square just made it better.

Just as a heads up the #3 game on my list is AWESOME!!!

First off, it's nice to see someone else place Tetris in the Top 10. T'was a great game. That being said...

10. Diddy Kong Racing
9. Final Fantasy X
8. Banjo Kazoiee
7. Tetris
6. Super Smash Bros Series
5. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
4.

rock-band-2-tba.thumbnail.jpg

Who don't like this game? I would have put all the guitar hero/rock band games, but since I can ony choose one, and this is the newest one I own, this makes my list. But really, theres no plot to this game. You pick one of three instruments, and you rock out by hitting whatever notes are on screen! Plus, alot of these songs are just awesome, as well the game is a good way to introduce people to new, unheard of music and bands. Some of my favorite songs are from these games.

My number 3 game is probably someones #1 game, it's already made someones list, and no list should be without it. Yeah, THAT game...

I hope I'm not too late to join this, but I'm an avid gamer and would love to be involved, so I'll try to catch up but keep each synopsis short.

10. Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Completely changed the way people played military games online. Most addicting online game I've played.

9. Donkey Kong
Changed the landscape for arcade games. Also saved the arcade business in the U.S. in the 80's.

8. Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time
Link's debut on N64, and it was a gem. Fantastic storyline and addicting gameplay.

7. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Hands down the best in the franchise. It has the best replay ability and it's not as serious as GTA4, so anyone can enjoy it.

6. Tetris
Best handheld game that will EVER be made. It's so easy to learn that even an 80 year old can enjoy it for hours on end.

5. Contra
The second best side scrolling shooter of all time. Just challenging enough that you have to keep playing without getting pissed and giving up.

4. Metroid
The BEST side scrolling shooter of all time. Not too mention Samus was one of the first female VG sex symbols, even in 8 bits.

#4 Disgaea

Disgaea_Hour_of_Darkness.jpg

I am a pretty big RTS(Real Time Strategy) fan and have played many over the years. Disgaea is hands down one of the best RTS's i have played. While the story may not be for everybody since it takes a more comedic approach. If you enjoy RTS's this is a must for you then. The gameplay is like your typical RTS, but what makes Disgaea stand out comapared to other RTS's is the huge amount of character options you have. Chances are you won't get around to even using all the characters. The Disgaea series also has a huge amount of replay value, probably more then any other game i would dare say. These reasons and the fact that i have spent over 100 hours+ on Disgaea is why it ranks in at number 4 on my list.
