Again, I only played two off the list - Heavy Rain and God of War. I'd like to play GT5 but I've never been good enough for realistic racers. I suppose that's what happens when you don't have a driving license.
God of War was as good as you expected it to be. A great adventure game. Some people prefer more complex controls so you can bust out a billion combos. To that, I say, well, some of us just aren't good enough. This game let you feel like a badass without having to have the dexterity of an octopus.
When did WipEout HD Fury come out? Because that game is gooooood. And, for a difficult game, I'm surprisingly good at it. Uncharted 2 should probably be nominated, though it controlled more clumsily than I expected to. Wait, that was last year, wasn't it? I wrote it now. It's too late.
My vote goes to Heavy Rain. It was innovative and involving. Sure, it was arguably one big quick time event but there were so many clever touches. I'd gladly welcome more games that did similar stuff. I'll have to replay it one of these days to see if I get a different story.
Oddly, it's the multiplayer experience of Heavy Rain that puts it ahead. I know what you're thinking - Heavy Rain didn't have multiplayer. Well, I don't know what you'd call getting a friend over and finding the best way to brutally (and hilariously) mutilate your character but god damn, that shit is funny. Game of the Year, son.
