The game you want to see in 2011 is.....?

WZCW's Mr Excitement
As simple as it sounds really, I would like to know which titles you would like to released or unveiled in the next year.

I'm not talking about Uncharted 3 or Gears of War 3 or Skyward Sword, I'm thinking of the games which havent been announced yet or have had very minor announcements made.

For me it's Pikmin 3; this was announced at E3 I believe but has been overshadowed by the 3DS.

Pikmin was a cracking Gamecube title and it should work perfectly on Wii. It could also work on 3DS too. This is the title that will make me dust off the Wii and I'm psyched for it, even though it has barely been mentioned at all. I think once the Jap 3Ds launch is out the way, this will be the first title to benefit.

Conversely and somewhat against the point of this topic, I think the 3DS will be huge.

Any personal preferences?

For me, it's Hitman 5. I was thinking about Max Payne 3, but it's been delayed so many times, that I just don't care when it comes out. But Hitman 5 is what I'm looking forward to. There isn't that much info on it or any official announcement from Square Enix or IO Interactive, but I'm looking forward to see where they take this fifth installment of a great stealth series. Hopefully, we'll get an announcement or a trailer at this year's E3.

I'm excited for Marvel vs. Capcom 3. I'm a big time Marvel fan, and I never played Marvel vs. Capcom 2, so I'm excited to play this incarnation. I also love Mortal Kombat, and this game has elements of MK plus the traditional special moves of Marvel vs. Capcom, and I'm pumped to make some awesome teams. Wolverine and Magneto, Cyclops and Thor, it should just be an awesome time. Furthermore, it looks like they're going to have a very well scripted story to go along with the well known game play.

I loved MUA2 (in fact I play it over and over again because I never get bored of it), so I'm looking for this game to keep me entertained until they release MUA3... if they make a MUA3.

Easily Ace Combat Assualt Horizon. From the trailer I've seen it looks amazing. Having been a fan of the series for many years I've loved each and every game. They bring me a great challenge and are alot different as each game is released. The trailer for Assualt Horizon has me excited. I love the fact you can damage surrounding structures and areas with stray bullets or missiles and the story (while it seems predictable) should be fantastic. I'm eagerly anticipating this game.

If it's ones that haven't been announced, I was going to go with Dragon Quest VI but that was announced last week.

Dragon Quest X A wii exclusive Dragon Quest game that is not a FirstPersonSworder. IX was fantastic, a massive game and thoroughly enjoyable, now if they can have that for the Wii I'll be a happy man.

Majora's Mask 3D Skyward Sword, Ocarina of Time 3D...Zelda's 25th anniversary year why not go for Majora's Mask on the 3DS.

One I noted in another thread...please release F-Zero for this generation:

F-Zero was something different on the SNES in that it was a fast racing game, X and GX were phenomenal too. They were fun racers that were the opposite of Mario Kart in style and play.

The last time we saw a game for this was in 2004 and I think this generation sorely needs one. The possibilities of online play without needing the wii motion gimmick would bring a much welcome return for the F-Zero franchise.

Legend of Zelda - Skyward Sword is pretty much the game I'm waiting to buy and I'm hoping it's released soon (date still hasn't been announced).

Actually seeing some of the Pikmin 3 development would be great as it's been two years and hasn't been mentioned at E3 in 09 or 10. Miyamoto says it's still in development though.

A new Rainbow Six game. Rainbow Six Vegas 2, other than it's camping issues, was a much better FPS game than Call of Duty, especially online where the maps were so much fun. Overall it was much easier to do what you wanted when you picked not only the game mode but also the individual map if you wanted to. A third one to put COD to shame would be brilliant.

I'd like Valve to announce Half Life 2 Episode 3 (or Half Life 3, what ever they are going to call it). We are waiting patiently Valve and the past year and a bit where you pissed off all the l4d1 players by bringing out l4d2 and the current mann co store in TF2 your losing allot of the love you once had. While Valve are at it add the l4d1 campaigns too l4d2 (at the cost of pissing of the community, though they complain about everything these days so who cares). But yeah Valve, its nice your bringing out Portal 2 and all but we really want HL2EP3/HL3 what ever your going to call it.

For me there are two games I am looking forward to.

Elder Scrolls V: Oblivion was one of my favourite games of all time. The game is set in the much more bigger Skyrim and it's not coming out until late 2011. From the trailer the game looks amazing. The best news of all is the fact that Bethesda are ditching the game engine they have been using since Oblivion(Maybe beyond that) as it is glitched and carashed easily which is evident from New Vegas. The game is just awesome and it has always been alot of fun to play with it's mix of long and short quests and featuring some easter eggs.

Hitman 5: My favourite game franchise of all time. With the way IO Interactive seems to make it's game more realistic and even harder every year. I'm looking forward to this game as I feel it will look much better on PS3 graphics and they could release this as part of a pack similar to the Sly pack. The games in the past have never failed to impress me and it's choices of using stealth or just blowing the shit out of everything is always fun and also it's unique ways of murdering victims.

Hitman 5 - I loved Blood Money, and still play it here and there. The game was great, from the moment Ave Maria began playing, to the funeral shootout after the credits. If Hitman 5 can top Blood Money, and provide so much more, count me in!

Diablo III - I loved Diablo II, it is a pity I can no longer play my level 96 Werewolf druid, but finally a new one is approaching. It is going to be such an experience to play this with the old D2 fans, as well as the guys who simply missed D2 and cant get into it anymore. I eagerly await the many LAN parties I will be holding as we level together, and take down Diablo once more. My issue for now is figuring out what class I will use, Monk? Witch Doctor? Wizard? These choices matter :/

Finally there is Fight Night: Champions - Whilst I am a bit over boxing, the new story mode of a former boxing champ being sent to prison (sounds familiar no?) could be fun.. It seems they are going for a darker approach, with bare knuckle fighting, corrupt promoters, and swearing for the first time in the series. I'll at least give it a rent.

Also.. Please oh please let there be an EA MMA 2

I'm going to have to go with a long shot here, but Saints Row 3. I loved the second one (didn't care much for the first), I think it's time that a 3rd one came out.

Psychonauts 2: It won't happen, but I've wanted a sequel to this criminally under-appreciated game for years and would be ecstatic to see it return. With Double Fine's new DLG iniative, maybe we could see this sequel in the form of a downloadable, episodic format.

Kingdom Hearts 3: Another gargantuan long shot. The handheld titles have done a great job fleshing out the story, but it's time to move forward. In this sequel, I'd love to see some of the Pixar movies get their own worlds. How awesome would it be to escape Sid's house in Toy Story or race for the Piston Cup in Cars? Just no more Agrabah. Please.

Prince of Persia (2008) 2: This rather polarizing game in the series ended on a HUGE cliffhanger. Unlike a lot of people, I enjoyed this game. The art style was gorgeous and, while flawed, the combat was flashy and fun. Hopefully Ubisoft picks this story back up.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2: Cut the levels down to 2 Acts, tweak Sonic's physics (preferably to closer how he controlled in the Genesis games or even Rush/Colors) and ditch any and all torch puzzles (in a Sonic game?) and we're good to go.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII: With little information outside of a badass debut trailer, what a treat it would it be if Square not only released in-depth details on this mysterious game but also announced that we'd be playing it this year.

Viewtiful Joe 3: There's a bit of a renaissance on beat'em up games right now, so why not bring back one of the best. This series damn-near perfected an age-old formula while adding it's own original and stylish flair. Instead of crappy spin-offs and appearances in fighting games, it's time Joe went back to doing what he does best.

There is a bucket load of games that, on paper, should make 2011 a fantastic year to be a gamer. That being said, there is still one game that I wish was released this year.

Bioshock-Infinite.jpg

Bioshock 2 didn’t live up to the hype and expectation that many felt like it should have. I believe this is mainly due to it feeling too similar to the original game and in essence became more of an extension of Bioshock, rather than its own game. Bioshock Infinite should be able to breathe a breath of fresh air into the franchise as it not only takes place before the first game in the series, but also in a completely different location than two games before it.

Visually, the game looks fantastic. Bioshock Infinite has stepped away from the dark & claustrophobic environment of Rapture, and has moved to the bright, colourful and open skies of Columbia.

Bioshock Infinite is scheduled to be released sometime in 2012, but I want it now.

I am interested to see how the Duke Nukem Forever video game will turn out since it has been about 13 years since the original game. The revamping of Mortal Combat should be interesting with a roster of originals and some from the sequels. I can't wait for Arkham City (sequel to Arkham Asylum) which comes out this Fall. Should be a great year for gaming.

Easily Kingdom Hearts 3

Its not gonna be out any time soon but just imagine a Spider man world or an Xmen world. Plus pixar just imagine a nemo world(it would be way better than the little mermaid). Plus they can get rid of Halloween town. Why was it in both it didnt even have a sequel and the first KH didnt even have anything to do with the movies storyline.

Killer Instinct 3. I have been waiting since I got a copy of the first game all the way back in 1996. I always thought it was superior to Mortal Kombat, and I love MK. Microsoft has some pretty good franchises with rare but they are not producing the quality of material they used to. If they actually put a good deal and time and effort into it we could actually have some good perfect dark, banjo, and conker sequels, along with a KI for the next gen.

I'm going to have to say the new Twisted Metal. For that game alone I'm going to go out and purchase a PS3. I've been waiting for a new one since TM:Black came out, they did have one that came out after but it lacked in my opinion. The new one looks fanfriggintastic and it's got multiplayer as well.

Here you go:

Shadows of the Damned: A 3PS from the team of Shinji Mikami (creator of the Resident Evil series) and Suda51. Do I need to say anything more about this bad boy? Is anyone creaming their jeans over this dream collaboration?

Dead Island: Yeah, it's huge now, but since I was anxiously awaiting this game while it was still considered vaporware, I'm including it in my list here.

Silent Hill: Downpour: Given how ass Silent Hill: Homecoming was, I don't blame anyone for not looking forward to this game. The makers of Downpour, however, allege that it'll be much better than Homecoming and more true to Silent Hill's Japanese roots. Even if they are bullshitting, I'm still sold.
